I recently purchased a bouquet for Mothers day. Having never used Appleyard before, I was encouraged by the endorsements, 7 day freshness guarantee and the 20% discount code. I would not usually have bought a bouquet so expensive, however, with the accompanying code I decided to buy a more expensive option. Aside from the flowers turning up a day before I had asked for them to be delivered - meaning they had to be left with a neighbour - my mother also informed me that by Mothering Sunday she had had to get rid of half of the bouquet as the flowers were dead. This is just not acceptable, particularly due to the price of a bouquet from your company (£49 originally), which would indicate some sort of quality and longevity. I am absolutely gutted that purchasing from Appleyard was both a waste of money, and such a disappointment for my mother. I will not be purchasing from yourselves again and will definitely dissuade others from using your company to purchase flowers for a gift.

The flowers were dead and withered, for mothers day it was such a disappointment. I am still waiting for a refund. The company are very poor at replying to emails, I will never order with you again.

Flowers that didn't open, leaves eaten by caterpillars. Very annoyed mother-in-law! Refund given 5 days after emailed.

I ordered flowers for mothers day they arrived on time. The greenery was dead when they arrived the roses died the next day the lilies never opened. I called the customer service number for 3 days in a row no answer, I decided to send an email after 2 days I had a reply too which I had to send more information 4 days later I'm still waiting for my complaint to be resolved. The customer service is rubbish the flowers were rubbish don't waste your money go some where else.

Unfortunately I've had a horrendous experience. I organised flowers to ne sent to an aunt on Mother's Day. The order process was fine and the price was good. We received a call from an embarrassed aunt to tell us the flowers were brown with some dead. With work commitments i could only email to advise. Twice emailled direct to customer serv's over a week and no reply. Now i get a feedback form. My feedback - appalling service without a care. Had to organise from another site which was superb.

It was for my Aunt and she said that the roses never opened even though she adhered to the instructions of taking the outer petals off. The lilies were great and opened slowly and she enjoyed them but she stated that there was too much greenery. I'm a bit disappointed

I am so, so disappointed. I ordered 2 identical bouquets for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day. As always I asked both of them to send me a photograph so that I could be sure I'd sent them something lovely but they were both avoiding doing so. I paid my Mum an unexpected visit a few days later and was mortified and embarrassed that every single one of the roses has browned at the edges and died before they had even begin to open. She admitted she didn't want to hurt my feelings by sending a picture of them. When I asked my mother-in-law if this was the same for her and she admitted it was. I would like to request a refund for both bouquets so that I send them each another gift. Nikki Channon

There were only five flowers in the bunch and they lasted three days. My mother was extremely dissapointed with them. They were for mothers day. Luckily, I only paid the half price offer for them. They weren't worth that, let alone the RRP which was just shy of £50. I will not be using this company again.

I ordered flowers and chocolates for Mother's Day. Only flowers arrived. I emailed complaint twice and they didn't even bother to respond. Do not use this company they are very dissapointing. There are multiple better options elsewhere.

I was not at all impressed with the service. Firstly there was no option to add a delivery note/instructions on the bouquet I chose, although I noticed there was for bouquets of maybe £5 more expensive. Due to this I was unable to leave a note for the post service to ask to leave the flowers in a designated safe spot for the receiver. This caused the receiver (who's birthday it was, to have to make repeated visits to the post office depot. Secondly upon receipt of the flowers one of the 5 roses in the bouquet was clearly dying despite only just being received. It was limp and would not recover. Within 24 hours the rest of the roses followed suit and became brown around the petals and limp headed. Proper care and storage of the flowers was absolutely kept to, so it was very surprising after paying almost £30 that the flowers were looking like they should be thrown away within 48 hours of ordering them. Clearly they were either no fresh, or not healthy. Therefore I cannot say I would use the service again.

Flowers were top quality but order was not as advertised and customer services are abysmal. I have written to you on two occassions regarding the order I placed and you haven't replied, except for the automatic email response. So as much as I didn't want to write a poor review until you had had the opportunity to resolve the issues we had with the order, now that you have contacted me and asked for my opinion I have copied the email previously sent, twice, to your customer services. I write regarding order 5000xxxx7 which was a Harmony arrangement with an add on to make it the extra large variant of the arrangement. Everything went to plan and my mother called me and thanked me for the lovely flowers I had sent via your service, however the problems started whem I arrived later in the day for dinner. The flowers although stunning didn't look complete and I immediately noticed the lack of fresssias in the arrangement which is her favourite flower and had prompted the purchase of this arrangement, I also then realised that other items were not as advertised. Essentially there is quite a discrepancy in the actual arrangement received and what is advertised on your website - in real terms we only received 64% of the order that I paid for. I have attached a file detailing the differences, a couple of screen shots of my order, the arrangement details and also images of the actual arrangment. I am keen to understand why this has happened? Why the order varied significantly from what was advertised? Why no replacement items were sent for the missing ones? Why there was no email sent in advance say that you were unable to fulfill my order as purchased? Finally, what you propose to do to compensate me for only fulfilling part of the order but taking full payment? I trust you will look into this and advise shortly.

The bunch I ordered was on special offer to the RHS. The bunch my mother received looked less bushy and less floriferous than the photograph or website suggested it would be. Many of the outer petals of the roses were browned: the advice to remove these would have resulted in very small blooms on show. Despite the generous discount offered the bunch was expensive for content, clearly not made with fresh produce and very poor value for money. Even more disappointing because it was a gift.

I ordered a bouquet for my mum on mothers day. The bouquet arrived very late at 5pm and the box was very badly damaged as we're the flowers inside. The bouquet was also the standard version when I had upgraded to premium. I was very disappointed and my mum was very embarrassed to have to tell me how bad they were. I complained and got a full refund which was quite straightforward, however, it doesn't make up for the disappointment of not being able to surprise my mum on mothers day.
