My experience to date with Appleyard has unfortunately been terrible. Every order I made had some sort of problem with it from non delivery, dry flowers, message card missing to awful problems with ordering online using my iPhone. Very fustrating and disappointing as I really wanted to like using this company as felt they offered something different. Will not be using them again unless they sort out their problems.!

Bought these for a birthday gift, for a relative, went to their house 2 days later, was shocked at how poor they looked, wilted and almost dead!

Flowers delivered as Mother's Day treat arrived as requested on Friday but were dead by Sunday. Tried contacting by email, Facebook,Twitter no response. 8 days after first email sent still no reply. I requested a full refund as have subsequently sent my 83 yr old mother a second gift as did not want to remember her last Mother's Day as a disaster. Not amused.

Not a good experience at all. Placed two orders, first one was incorrect and second one eventually arrived after a week. No answer to my emails and company only got in touch after I reported them to Google. Absolutely awful.

I was disappointed with the flowers which I had ordered for my mother for mother's day - they arrived on Saturday, a little worst for wear and by the next day still looked crushed and the roses were already wilting. This is the first time that I have been disappointed with the quality of the flowers but they were not worth the money I had paid (I had even paid for the larger bouquet)

The delivery man did not show up, sent the message that no one was home (5 people were DEFINITELY home), suggested delivering the next day. The recipient went to collect the flowers, which were kept in a completely sealed box. Nice job taking care of the flowers, flower "experts" Appleyard! Why not just send dead flowers straight away? The flowers themselves were not exactly fresh and as shown on the website. Never again, Appleyard.

I ordered a large bouquet of flowers for my sister's 70th birthday. The order was placed on the 9th of February four days before her birthday and they were not delivered on her birthday Friday the 12th of February but on the following day Saturday 13th. I tried calling customer services on a premium line on Friday 12th I stayed on phone line for over an hour and the phone was not answered. I will never use this company again.

Really disappointed with the flowers from this company. We paid just over £80 for the bee happy scents gift set. The room diffuser and candle were ok but the flowers... Well they looked like a bunch of weeds. I'm not exaggerating. The picture on the website is lovely and they were exactly what we wanted to cheer up someone who has found out she has a brain tumour, We also ordered the jug that the flowers are displayed in, in the picture expecting them to perhaps be arranged in the jug like other florists offer but that came separately so the recipient had to sort them out herself. The flowers arrived via Royal Mail in a box which is not stated on the website. Kinda ruined it. We ordered the extra large bunch which is what's displayed in the picture and thank god we did! I could honestly have gotten bigger and better flowers for a tenner from Tesco! There was so much green foliage that it completely overpowered the small roses, all you could see was the greenery. It wasn't pretty. Also the flowers were wrapped in plain white tissue paper that was so high you had to hold them low down and look over the top to even see the foliage we received! Of course we hid out disgust from the recipient. I am just so angry that we paid all that money and they looked so cheap and nasty! The picture is VERY misleading, they looked nothing like it. I know it's the thought that counts but we really wanted a beautiful bunch of flowers for someone special and that moment was ruined. All of our faces dropped when we saw them and that's certainly not the reaction you expect when spending £80 on flowers! When she sorted the flowers out to put in the jug we threw most of the foliage away as it was truly awful. What a waste. And as for the roses, the website says some will be delivered in bud so they last longer, well of course they were all fully blooming and already drooping. I tried to sign in with my details to contact customer services about the whole situation but it says I don't have an account. So it is left unresolved. I just wish I had read all the other poor reviews on Facebook before wasting the money and ruining a special gift. She deserved so much more.

Very disappointed in both the service and quality of flowers. I regularly buy flowers from various florists but fancied trying something a little more special. I ordered two bunches of roses (one was embarrassingly for a friend to his wife) with the champagne and chocolates. His arrived on the day stated, mine did not. The quality and look of the roses were by far the worst if ever seen. Deeply disappointed is an understatement. Instead of being elegant and hand tied - they looked like they had been ripped from someone's garden with no attention paid to them whatsoever. I'm not looking for a refund or goodwill gesture, I simply will never use your services again. Real shame as I regularly buy flowers as work away and the way you described your company, I felt I'd found a little bit of prestige. Not the case! Mr R P Davie

Most of the flowers were either already dead or dying when I receieved them especially the roses, pink roses were dead and floppy and the red roses were on their way. The Lillie's were not dead however, but two weeks later have still not blossomed, by which time all the other flowers were completely dead. Would not use again.

I ordered flowers to be delivered to my next door neighbour after her husband died suddenly. The flowers were never delivered and it is far too late to order another delivery. After contacting your customer services they offered a refund but could not tell me anything about where the flower delivery was up to. I feel really embarrassed that I have not been able to show my condolences.

Customer service was poor, called multiple times in a space of a week, phone calls did not go through even after 10+ minutes wait, only to find out it cost 7p per minute.Flowers were dying already by the time of it arriving, looking nothing like the picture on the Internet. Missed out one of my orders and took them a week to reply and refund. Delivery was late too. Would not buy from Appleyard again.

the flowers were a present for my mum to cheer her up. I went to visit her and saw the flowers and they were not what I expected. the display was much smaller than I envisaged especially when I had paid a premium for a larger bunch, it did not contain all the flowers that were shown in the Bluebell display online and the orchids did not open, their heads just fell off so very disappointed.

Starting with the positives, the website was well laid out and the ordering process was fine. The flowers arrived on the right day. Unfortunately that's the end of the good bits. The packaging isn't ideal in that the box is longer than the bouquet allowing the flowers to slide up and down inside the box. There is no "this way up" on the box and nothing to advise the postman to handle with care. As such the top of the bouquet was a bit crumpled from its journey through the postal system. Some kind of tying system to hold the flowers in place would prevent this. There was no card with the flowers so my wife had no way of knowing they were from me and the message I spent ages crafting was wasted. All of the roses were fully open on arrival so far from the "fresh and still in bud" in the listing. The leaves of the roses and the lilies were limp/wilted and yellowing, again suggesting the flowers were far from fresh. The gypsophila was dry and brittle but not in flower. The roses petals started to drop off on the second day and by the fifth day all the roses had completely gone over with the petals falling off in big clumps. None of the lilies opened until after the roses had gone over so the effect of both together was never achieved. At least half of the lilies failed to open at all, just browned and wilted. I sent a message through the website web-form on the day they arrived but no response was received. I emailed two days later and still no response. I waited a further couple of days and emailed again, still no response. I sent another web-form message after two weeks and finally got a response. I received a full refund but of course by then the occasion had passed and the disappointment, both with the product and with the customer service, had reached a point were I can't give anything other than a poor review and I certainly cannot recommend anyone to use this supplier. I certainly won't be again.

£50 bouquet was far smaller than I was expecting and the quality was disappointing too. 50% of the roses were dead within 5 days and the 90% were dead before the lillies began to open. Very disappointing. I've had far better flowers from Morrisons for a fraction of the price. Will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
