The driver was helpful but the service from anyvan was awful. The driver is expected to add on extra money for every item not itemised - for a home move! I had added items I'd forgotten about online already, but despite this the driver didn't even have a list that matched my original list, let alone the additions, so wanted more money on the day of the move before even starting. Talk about stressful. I suppose they know they have you over a barrel if they make you pay more on your move day, as by that point you have no choice. I would normally move myself but am recovering from an injury. I can barely afford to move as it is but my landlord is selling my flat so I needed to leave. On top of this, no one turned up to help the driver unload so I had to help the driver carry heavy items, push wardrobes upstairs etc, as I knew there was no way he could do it himself. If I'd wanted that service I'd have hired a van and asked a friend to help. Anyvan have given me a measly £25 refund for the man not turning up, and are refusing to give me any compensation. They initially offered £15 compensation for a "service" that cost £750 odd quid and essentially was not provided. I said this wasn't enough and asked to escalate the complaint, after which they told me I would now get 0. This was not a removals service and it has cost me so much money and caused me much distress. Never ever ever again. Avoid this company like the plague.

I booked this company to help to collection the sofas from Milton Keynes to Buckhurst Hill on Friday 15th July 2022. My Dad is around 70, my Dad took the 2 seater and one seater sofa out from the garage by himself and left it outside all day as the collection said between 1pm to 8pm. They never turned up after 8pm, my Dad was fuming as they had to take the sofas back in the garage again by himself, it's totally unacceptable. I called customer service, never turned up etc. They rescheduled next day which was Saturday. I requested for extra mover due my Dad was struggling by himself. I was happy to pay extra which around £72 pounds and collection from 8am to 12pm. Dad called me next day on Saturday and told me that extra mover couldn't it. We were fuming AGAIN! Dad offered to help with driver, I think they came to collection around 11.30am. They were supposed to come here around 1 hour to 2 hour to get Buckhurst Hill but unfortunately the driver drove back to Derby! The driver won't be able to delivery to my house on the same day! I was absolutely stressed. I have called the driver thousand times and never picked up. Next day Sunday, very early morning the driver came here outside of my house. On the same day it was my daughter 1st birthday party at my house! Unreaible company. Avoid.

They cancelled on the day without telling me - I only found out after 2 webchats and an hour on the phone. Then rescheduled for the next day - and didn’t turn up. Then rescheduled 2 days later again, and turned up 4 hours earlier than agreed. Would not offer compensation or even a partial refund. Avoid avoid avoid.

My 80 year old mom used any van when they arrived they said had to pay another £300 on top of the £1400. Already payed as had to walk up a pathway. When delivered to new address tv screen was smashed scratched walls in new home red box smashed to smithereens. The delivery men said it was not them. Who was it ? Also van to small had to leave a lot of items behind. The next day rang anyvan to claim as mom had the platinum service. Chap said could not get into computer but would ring back Monday but didn’t I called 5 days later to be told Inshurance was only 5 days. When you move there’s a lot to do and we’re never made aware of this 5 day Inshurance Anyvan spoke to drivers and they denied everything even the smashed plastic box. So the platinum service means absolutely nothing. Anyvan just took the delivery men’s word and nothing else I even e mailed the CEO to which I still have no reply 3 weeks later they fobed mom of with another insurance company where there’s £250 excess to pay. (Please avoid this company at any cost)

Please beware of using this company. I had arranged and paid for my son to be moved from his old accommodation to his new one. They were aware he was a vulnerable student and assured me all would be fine. There failed to collect him, leaving him stranded hundreds of miles from home. He has called and was told the van was on its way. I missed a call at 13 29 pick up was fir 12.00 when I tried to call no response. We had to get a local taxi firm to help us. Contact them today, 3 days later was told they had a problem with the van. No email from then or call to my son. Disgusting service Edit

Buyer beware. If you read the fine print, AnyVan say they merely act as an agent between you and a removals company and aren't a removals company themselves. So, on the day they'll try to get you a service, but if they can't get one then oops! Too bad so sad. In my case, they no-showed with no notice on moving day. When I rang them up they said 'no driver has been assigned' and promised to get me a driver first thing the next day. That driver also no-showed, in fact they apparently never bothered to book one. They gave me a refund but just shrugged when I mentioned the fines, storage fees, and emergency service I had to hire. It's middle men pretending to be a legit removals company. Basically a scam.

WARNING PLEASE READ ANY VANS ARE THIEVES AND MAKE FAKE BOOKINGS We booked removals with Any Vans end of April for 16th May. We cancelled removals as to expensive on 3rd of May, well within guidelines. We moved on 16th May without Any Vans. Over a month later I receive an email from Any Vans saying they will be moving us on the 23rd June ??? We moved a month ago. So I clicked on cancellation thinking this would be the end of it. Then receive a call to say they will be with us tomorrow, I tried to explain to the very rude man that we never booked a removals, after a very heated conversation I passed the phone to my husband who they refused to speak to in the end they did, for him to be told not to worry we have been charged for the removals anyway so it didn’t matter if we used them or not. Checked our bank account £734 had been unlawfully stolen. They had kept our bank details since April. We raised this with management after being told by Lyndsey who tried to resolve this that the reason we were unknowingly booked is they put in a DUMMY I quote dummy appointment on cancellations. Pointless to ramble on how awful the customer services behaved who finally agreed to refund what they had stolen. But not for 3 to 10 days. We reported to the police and want people to know what this company are capable of. Holding onto bank details for almost 3 months and charging a customer for a booking that was never made by ourselves but by Any Van. We were advised by police to contact the bank in case they try to take more money. If you use this company do not give your card details although no doubt without them you would not be able to book. Sum these up thieving B*******. I hope this review will help others not to go through what we have just gone through as if moving is not stressful enough.

Disappointed with service My daughter booked anyvan for today. The driver was nearly 2 hours late. The man did not help lift anything into the van, leaving a young fragile woman to lift everything into the van, nothing was bubble wrapped or tied down. They did not take everything as my daughter felt her special cabinet could would not be safe. My daughter had to then make her own way to the new apt. One hour away and take an Uber with lots of her things not taken and still lots to move tomorrow. Very very disappointed with Anyvan service. My daughter has complained and they have promised a call back on Monday to hopefully resolve the situation.

We were moving abroad so we booked up in good time (about 5 months before) ,the firm we chose (I know I chose it) I would certainly not recommend. We were leaving the UK going abroad so we had to go through France with all our stuff and after Brexit you have to declare your stuff to customs. The firm we chose said we had access to their professional consultant so at least that would be a weight off our back. From the start the emails were a bit short and by that I mean rude, certainly not professional. There was a lot of paperwork to fill out and not being computer savvy and obviously not used to the paperwork for moving we were doing some wrong. Yes there was some examples but even so , it got to the stage that I had my wife finish dealing with him because I couldn't , he was seeming so rude in his return emails. Anyway we finally got it all correct, happy times ahead. About 2 weeks before we should move I wanted to make sure about the final payment details , when I asked for the details it was a different bank account that I should pay into and if it didn't go through then I should try different names (red flag time). It seemed very dodgy to me a, so I asked if I could pay be card instead, I was told no as they don't do that,it had to be by BACS (another red flag). I wasn't even getting an invoice from them. Okay, I will contact Any-van instead and get them to check the bank details are correct before I pay just to be sure. Any-van said they would ring me the next day , they did that and then said another day and I would know. I rang them after 2 days to find out what was taking so long just to check these details, the operator said they would contact the firm right then to check the details. When they came back after 5 minutes I was told the job had been cancelled by the firm because I hadn't paid, I didn't have to pay until the stuff was off-loaded in 3 days. So now less than 48 hours before we left the country I had to find alternative storage solutions for all our stuff. Less than 24 hours before the stuff should have been picked up I was sent an email by the firm to say the customs paperwork was now wrong and if it didn't get it sorted out then they wouldn't be able to pick the stuff up. So they had the paperwork for months and now its wrong the day before. Later that same day I had a phone-call from the river to say he would be there first thing in the morning. In short somebody cancelled or didn't cancel the job, either Any-van or lenyxu or Gareth the customs consulant did. I certainly didn't , in short they are all as incompetent as each other . Yes I did get the money back from Any-van tbh I cant be bothered to get the money back from Gareth because I don't need the stress in my life. Pickfords was less than 10% dearer to move it all in the end, how I wished I had gone to them first

You need to be aware when booking the van that they have enough staff to pick up and drop off your items. I was asked if there are people to help unload the van at my house, nobody asked about how the items will get into the van as the shop staff can’t help. Having waited in all day, I am not receiving all my items and customer service is no help as their favourite word is ‘unable’ which is just what an annoyed customer wants to hear. The manager has refused to call back and when he finally said he’d call back, he didn’t!! Just don’t bother with this company and find another one to use.

Making amendments is a trick after booking, they will say adding some items is "Free" then it turns out you lose previous arrangements you've made! I initially booked a 1 person removals for my bed, mattress and TV stand. After moving my stuff for the week I sustained a back injury and booked a 2nd person as I will have difficulty helping out. I paid an additional £32 Sometime later I checked how much adding 2 more items to the move would cost, it says "FREE" therefore I pursued that amendment. The night before the move I read my confirmation email said 1person move. I wrote AnyVan via messenger and they didn't reply before the man arrived! Come the driver of the move, only one man arrived! I tried to clarify again with AnyVan but they said they tried to phone me to clarify. I did receive a call that got cut but no emails whatsoever to inform me of what happened! As I was caught off guard and I don't want to waste the pleasant man who helped me move's time, I just helped with the lifting. Now my back pain is worse and AnyVan customer service via email informed me that my extra payment went to the items that I added that was supposed to be free saying I cancelled the extra person. Had I known that the extra items would have cost more I wouldn't have added them as I have a sizeable car anyway! And I would have NEVER cancelled the second person as I do have an injury. I felt robbed and of course I couldn't fight my case as AnyVan's invoices are blank and just shows the amount you pay. No confirmation after amendments on email unfortunately. I'm left stuck and with a worse back

Disgusting experience with this company. I wanted my things moved from London to Cheltenham. I had to leave the hostel I was staying at before 10 am so this charged me extra. I went home to Cheltenham only to receive my things 10 hours later. The delivery driver made up lies about flat tyres and blamed other customers for delays and threatened to keep my stuff over night. He was completely rude on the phone and completely unprofessional. Avoid this company at all costs. I will be demanding a full refund

Recently used them to move and store our worldly goods. All seemed good, turned up when they did with removal men that asked questions if they were unsure. Seemed all very professional... When everything was delivered, we found a number of boxes and single items missing. Very little communication and excepted no blame for basically misplacing our stuff... AVOID LIKE THE COVID.

Lot of damage to furniture and lost items. Damage to wardrobes (external scratches), bed (scratches), chest of draws and mattress (torn in 4 places). Customer service informed me of assembly charges 2 days before the move date, so I cannot even change provider. Drivers did not protect any of the furniture , not even the mattress or mirrors. They also lost 4 screws so I had to go to IKEA and get them! Do not use Anyvan!

Terrible experience- do not use this service. We booked to have a treadmill carried down two flights of stairs in our house. My husband called up to explain that it was really heavy and the stairs in our house were awkward. He made it clear that it would need very strong people to move it. At no point was he asked the weight of the treadmill. Any van reassured him that they were experienced in moving treadmills and that it would be possible as they move ‘pianos’. My husband was told that he did not need to dismantle the treadmill as they moved fold up treadmills ‘all the time’. When the men came to move the treadmill, they could not even get it out of the room as they could not lift it. After sliding it across the carpet, it was left in the doorway for my husband to move back to its original position. This took them about 2 minutes and then they left. When we spoke to Any van to get our money back, my husband was told that it was his responsibility to know what weight two men could carry and he was asked ‘how’ he ‘expected them to be able to lift it if it wasn’t dismantled’. After this, he was asked why he didn’t help the men lift it (seen as my husband and I had managed to get it up there in the first place). We were told we could not have our money back and could not speak to a manager. My husband then asked if they could lift a spin bike instead so that we were at least paying for something to be moved and we were told that we had paid for a treadmill to be moved and so nothing else could be moved. The irony is we have paid for a treadmill to be moved 1 foot. The most worrying thing is that the company seem to have no thought for the safety of the drivers as the men who turned up clearly weren’t strong enough to lift it and yet the company had not checked to see the weight of the treadmill beforehand- this is clearly not effective safeguarding of the drivers. From looking at Mumsnet, it would appear that we are not the only people who have had problems with the company. Do not use this company.

AVOID. Rogue Moving Company. They don't deserve one star. They are a Polish company. They should be reported to the police. They will provide a quote then , increase their charges without explanation. Their drivers use every excuse to charge you more. Do not use, they are criminals.

Use at your own risk, don't use for a house move, use somebody else, anybody... they were booked for 10-12 and didn't turn up till 15.40.. all my furniture had to taken out and left in the garden while I waited for another driver, customer service consisted of lies and excuses... I strongly suggest reading the reviews if you are moving house

Bought a fridge from EBay. They dropped it twice. Bust the insides and dented the doors. Offered £60 compensation. Fridge will cost £250 to fix and still have dents in the doors. Total clown service.

I am 62 with mental health disability, I find it very difficult to understand and follow instructions, also I get confused easily. I live alone with no friends or family so that means that I have to do everything myself. I went on AnyVan website. There are online forms to complete one of which I thought was to be used as a guide for a quote, so I listed the larger items and guessed how many bags and boxes there would be. I informed them of my mental and physical issues, I received a quote and accepted it fixing a moving date. I have been finding the thought of the move very distressing as due to my mental health disability I become emotional regularly. On the moving day I felt ill and extremely anxious. The driver rang me as they were travelling to tell me the time they would arrive. The driver and mate had a look round my home and after a lengthy conversation, in a foreign language, informed me that my items were not packed correctly so they were unable to carry out the move. I rang the company and explained the situation, the reply was that I would have to book another day and time when my stuff was correctly packed at a cost of 50% of the original quote? The driver (who was the only one who could speak, broken, English) already knew the outcome as he had spoken to his boss(in a foreign language so I had no idea what was said) I fixed another date and they left. I found the experience distressing and became quite ill? I had to change the moving date again because I was too ill to move, I had no strength or inclination to attempt to move. The move was scheduled for Wednesday 26/05 /2021 and I rang them to rearrange the date on Sunday 23/05 /2021 giving them over 48 hrs notice making the change of date not eligible for any extra costs. Finally I had to do my best to steel myself for the move? I received a call informing me that they would arrive by 11am, which was smack in the middle of the time slot. The Luton van was reversed onto my drive and out got two young men dressed in t shirts, shorts, trainers and one had a baseball hat, my impression was do these lads look like people I can trust to take care of my stuff? They had a look around the bungalow and upon entering the back bedroom, the English speaking??? driver checked his mobile phone and said you have not asked for dismantle things. What needs to be dismantled? The single bed that I had moved, fully assembled, into the bedroom myself? It would not be moved until dismantled, so I did it myself. At which point I decided my best bet was to hide in my bedroom? They had a running conversation in a foreign language which I found to be extremely rude and disrespectful. They loaded most of the boxes and then came into my bedroom where I was trying to practice the calming techniques that I had been instructed to do when distressed and anxious. Once again the driver consulted his mobile phone. He informed me that I had put two single wardrobes but these were doubles because they had two doors, I thought they were singles because they stood alone and not joined together? He then said because of my mistake he could only move one unless I paid extra for the second one? He then spotted two wooden fire surrounds and asked what they were and if they were to be moved. I told him that they were to be moved, he said they weren't on the list so they would have to charged extra or not taken? By this time my calming exercises had evaporated. I asked what list was he referring to and it was the guide that I had filled in for the quote? I told him that it wasn't a list of the only things that needed to be just a guide? His response was he could only take the things on the list and I had to pay extra for the items not on the list I refused to pay any extra, told him that I wanted all my stuff back in my home and I was going to get a refund. It took me fifteen minutes to on hold to get an answer, by which time my emotions were all over the place. The agent told me that the list I supplied was the inventory they worked off therefore I either pay the extra charges or only the items on the list could be moved. After her telling me the same thing several times and saying that it was my fault for not including everything to the list I finally broke down and told the lads to put all my stuff back as I didn't want to use this company. The woman kept telling me that it was all my fault and I would not receive a refund. Through a flood of tears I told her that I would sooner throw away £610 than use their company. All this from a company who associates its self with and supposedly supports a metal health charity. You should be ashamed because I am disgusted.
