Awful and damages. A move from Cambridgeshire to London storage unit. Having already put up with the fact that my bill was going to be more than double the initial estimate, I was then charged a further £195. before the truck arrived The "team" that were supposed to turn up didn't. A bloke and his son arrived, they were clumsy and in a hurry, they asked for even more money so another £70.00 was paid, when I told them how much the company had charged me they were aghast seems Anyvan just farm out jobs like skimming agents. They then left items behind claiming no more room. They also left rubbish and food wrappings from their lunch all over the road and pavement. A friend saw the removal into London storage as I was forced to remain to deal with the stuff they'd left behind and other issues, he told me they were in a bad mood and in a hurry. I managed to get to the storage 7 days after the move and informed Anyvan that there were breakages and that stuff looked like it had been thrown into the unit, I could not actually get in without unpacking the entire unit. Initially I contacted via Whatsapp where my messages were ignored. Then via their complaints form, which is extensive, with photos of broken items (there may be more) and bad packing. I was then told they couldn't do anything about anything because I hadn't complained within 7 days of the move as stated in their contract ... it is not stated in their contract ... and in any case I had reported it. I asked for them to reconsider but have been ignored ever since. Having done all asked of me. I am now considering legal action.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration you’ve described. We’ve reviewed your booking in full and can see that this was an inventory-based service. Prior to the move, additional items were added via your online booking confirmation portal, which increased the overall scope of the job. This change was made 3 days before the move date, and the £195 charge relates to the additional space, time, and labour required to safely complete the updated inventory. In relation to the £70 payment you’ve mentioned, we don’t have a record of this within our system. If you have any evidence of this charge, please do share it with our team so we can investigate further. With regard to the concerns raised about damage, we’re really sorry to hear this. However, as outlined in our terms and conditions, any damage must be reported within 7 days of the move date so that we’re able to properly investigate and raise this with the transport partner. As this timeframe hasn’t been met in this instance, we’re unfortunately unable to progress this further under our claims process. We’re sorry again that your experience fell short of expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Kind regards, AnyVan

I contacted AnyVan in regards to the pick-up of a sofa at one location and delivery to another, and removal of the old sofa at the delivery location. I contacted the company via WhatsApp, and it took several days to get the booking confirmed as I had to resend the details several times. I also contacted the company via the website due to this, and at around the same time I received two quotes of differing amounts. Thankfully I was offered the lower amount. I then passed on additional details to the company to ensure that all would be going smoothly on the day. The first additional detail was the number of stairs in either property. After confirming, I was charged an additional £17, which I accepted. I would have thought this would have been established at the time of booking but due to the environment it couldn't be helped so I did not dispute the charge. Due to work and life commitments, I requested the delivery happen before 3.30pm, and I was given a timeslot of between 8 and 2, which is 6 hours and quite wide. For context, the person I was picking the sofa up from technically no longer lives at the property so needed to travel, and kindly requested that I ask the company to call him 2 hours before they were due to arrive so he could travel from work and be at the property accordingly. I passed this request onto the company who assured me that they had contacted the driver about this request and had also left a note on my job about it. It was at this stage I realised that the address for delivery was wrong, and was able to swiftly correct it. The day of the delivery, I wake up to the person the sofa is being collected from saying that the driver was at the location at 8am, and he was at work so could not let them in. Neither of us had been called in advanced as requested, and as a result the job had been cancelled. I proceeded to spend upwards of an hour making several phonecalls to AnyVan (when I should have been working) to try and understand what had happened, and it is still not clear to me how this mistake occurred despite all the measures put in place. I was offered a redelivery slot in the evening, to which I reminded AnyVan that that wouldn't work and it is too short notice for both me and the sofa's owner to make subsequent rearrangements. I was then offered a 'free reschedule' for the day after, which I accepted, but I supplied the caveat that due to the change in day, the owner of the sofa and I were only available between 1 and 3pm. The timeslot was adjusted and then I was hit with an additional surcharge of £38. I attempted to dispute this but in the end I had to accept it because otherwise the job could not go ahead and I would have paid almost £200 for nothing in return. I am appalled at the terrible communication across the board from AnyVan, from the moment I tried to book the job to the actual execution of the job itself. I am also quite unhappy about the frequency and amount of additional charges I had to pay on top of the original quote. I was originally quoted £115 and I went with AnyVan because they were the cheapest option. I was then charged an additional £55 over the course of the job (so almost 50% extra) due to factors outside of my control, including a mistake on the part of AnyVan. This resulted in the job actually being more expensive than other companies I researched the job for. I find this extortionate not only in practice but in price - for context, I did a full house move for £160 with another man and van company, and this was one up-front cost with no additional charges prior to the final invoice, and a much smoother experience overall. I have paid more to AnyVan for the removal and disposal of one piece of furniture, and I had to pay extra for a mistake that was made by YOU. Additionally, the disposal service I paid for was then defaulted on the day with no prior warning that there were pre-requisites the sofa needed to meet prior to disposal. I was only offered a £50 refund which is unlikely to cover the cost of another disposal service, and is no sufficient compensation for the time in doing so.

Absolutely dreadful experience with AnyVan from start to finish. The booking process was incredibly frustrating. My job was accepted and booked in, only for me to later be told there were issues because I supposedly hadn’t provided the correct information. The problem is that nobody ever asked for the information in the first place, despite me actively trying to provide as much detail as possible. Instead of taking responsibility for their own poor process, customer service immediately tried to blame me. Speaking of customer service, it was some of the worst I have experienced. Communication was poor, responses were unhelpful, and there was no effort made to resolve the situation professionally. The collection itself did not inspire confidence either. The driver arrived in an unmarked van with no uniform or company branding whatsoever. It felt less like dealing with a professional national removals company and more like hiring a random white van from a classified ad. There was nothing that gave reassurance that I was dealing with a reputable business. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganised, unprofessional, and poorly managed. I would strongly advise others to think twice before using AnyVan, as there are plenty of moving companies out there that offer far better customer service and professionalism.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. We’ve reviewed your booking and can see that the job was accepted based on the information provided at the time, which included a cross trainer, exercise bike, and treadmill, with a two-person team allocated accordingly. On arrival, the team identified that the treadmill in particular was significantly heavier than standard at approximately 300kg. This level of weight was not declared at the point of booking. As you can appreciate, this created a health and safety concern, as the safe working limit for a two-person team would not reasonably cover that type of load. We understand this may have been frustrating, however the team had to take this into account to ensure the job could be carried out safely. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Kind Regards, AnyVan

I paid to get my things dismantled, I got my things broken, they did that because they arrived late twice, on top of that I had to pay extra for something that I clearly said to them, I am at first floor. If you want reliability and care for your item, choose a local man and van not this company, it looks cheap on the website and then they start to make you sign stuff and I was in a rush because of them arriving late even if I said to them I need to get to the airport, once I spoke with the customer services I just received lies on lies just read this message: I have reviewed the booking and can confirm that the booked time is 8am–6pm collection. Then I sent a screenshot confirming 8-9 when in reality they arrived at 10 and they replied: I understand that you were advised the collection would be between 8–9. However, the tracker shows the driver arrived within the agreed booking time window. Then i showed them the call made to the driver at 9:40and they replied Times that are provided are estimated and subject to change. So again, open bark.com and find a man and van but do not use them, they are going to upsell you stuff and make you sign especially if they see you in a rush

Hi there, Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience on the day of your move. We’ve reviewed your booking and can confirm that the agreed collection window was 8am–4pm, with the team attending at 9:43 within that scheduled slot. We understand this was still a stressful experience for you, particularly given the pressures involved with moving day, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused. We’ve also looked into the charge mentioned and can confirm a refund of £35.00 has been issued as a gesture of goodwill. With regards to the concerns raised about damage, these were not reported within the required 7-day timeframe following completion of the move, so we’re unfortunately unable to progress this further under our claims process. We’re sorry again that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Kind Regards, AnyVan

I would strongly advise anyone considering AnyVan storage to simply not, or to read the terms very carefully and understand what service they are actually buying. My experience has been extremely painful. I placed a late relative’s belongings into storage with AnyVan and later needed urgent access while family were briefly in the UK. I arranged access with AnyVan, received written confirmation, hired a vehicle, took time off work, and travelled to the London-based storage facility where the items had originally been dropped off, only to be told my storage was not there. I was then told the container was apparently in Gloucester, despite never being clearly informed that the belongings had been moved there. AnyVan’s own storage contract refers to relocation notice, yet I had received no clear notice or explanation. After I complained, AnyVan again confirmed that my items would be available at the London-based storage facility at a specific date and time. I then contacted the facility directly and was told my storage was still not there. Because of these repeated failures, my family lost the opportunity to go through the belongings before leaving the country. That cannot be fixed by a later appointment. When dealing with something as personal and important as a late relative’s belongings, you need a company that is direct, accountable, and compassionate. My experience with AnyVan was the opposite. Customer care could not provide meaningful help, I was given incorrect information more than once, and nobody seemed able to tell me clearly where my belongings were or why they had been moved without my consent. 1 month later and I have finally managed to remove all my items from storage, however still not had any communication as to why they had breached their own contract terms. One of the most important things people should understand is that AnyVan do not appear to personally carry out the moving or storage in the way many customers might assume. They operate as a middleman, putting jobs out through their platform to third-party providers for moving and storage. In my experience, this created confusion, lack of ownership, and no clear accountability when something went wrong. It feels like almost anyone could rent a van, sign up to operate through a platform like this, and become the person handling your belongings. That is not the level of reassurance, professionalism, or accountability I expected when trusting a company with irreplaceable possessions. There are far more personable storage and removals companies to use, companies where you know who is handling your belongings, where they are being stored, and who is responsible if something goes wrong. I would not recommend AnyVan for moving or storage, or even replying to your email. And I would especially not recommend for anything sentimental, urgent, or irreplaceable.

Hi Isabella, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to read about your experience and the frustration this situation has caused. We appreciate that these were not just stored belongings, but items belonging to a late relative, making the circumstances particularly upsetting for you and your family. We apologise for the difficulties you encountered and for the disappointment caused when your expectations were not met. We understand the importance of clear communication and reliability when entrusting personal possessions to a storage provider, and we are sorry that your experience fell short of the standards we aim to deliver. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention. Your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams and will be reviewed internally. Kind regards, AnyVan

The actual moving experience was great. Friendly and efficient drivers. I would have preferred to arrange and pay for the entire moving-out and moving-in project at the initial quote stage, in one transaction. Instead I had to go through a sequence of different quotes and bookings which became tiresome and an which gave me unpleasant surprise at the ultimate cost. The barrage of emails is confusing. And the helpline has long waiting times, and when you get through you cannot be sure if you are talking to a robot or a human (it felt automated but creepily human if it was not!). If I were in the management, I would spend some time trying out experience first hand, to see what it feels like.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that you found the moving team friendly and efficient, and that the actual move itself went well. We are sorry, however, to hear that the overall booking process and communication left you feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. We understand how the experience of having to go through multiple quotes and separate bookings could feel tiring, especially when managing a move involving furniture, storage, and a piano. In this case, piano moves do require a specialist team due to the nature of the item, and storage is also managed separately through a dedicated team. Because of this, these services are not always combined into a single booking flow. That said, we understand why this lack of a single streamlined process for customers needing all three services would feel inconvenient, and your feedback on this is really valuable. We also appreciate your comments regarding communication and our support experience. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we are sorry for any confusion or difficulty you experienced reaching us. Your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams so we can look at how this journey can be improved for customers needing multiple services in one move. Kind regards, AnyVan

The driver was nice. AnyVan had a delivery job to deliver items 15 minutes away from a location however, my commute time was 1 hour and I had informed this. I was later told that if driver doesn't want to wait after reaching the delivery location, I'd have to pay £24/hour of wait time. It is ridiculous. I had already paid £60 for a location which is 15 minutes away, doesn't mean I asked them to deliver them within 15 minutes. The driver is the sole reason I'm giving 3 ⭐. AnyVan must update their policies as this is unfair.

Hi Dhaval, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the driver helpful and appreciate your comments regarding their service. Having reviewed your booking, we cannot see any record of contact with our team prior to the scheduled collection and delivery date regarding the additional travel time you required between locations. Our schedules are planned in advance to ensure we can provide a seamless service for all customers. Where a customer requires additional time between collection and delivery locations, this would need to be arranged at the time of booking by reserving a collection slot and a separate delivery slot. This allows us to plan accordingly and ensure sufficient time is allocated. While we appreciate that your journey to the delivery address took longer than the transport time, our transport partners often have other customers booked throughout the day and are unable to remain waiting for extended periods, as this would impact their ability to complete other scheduled services. We appreciate your feedback and will ensure it is shared with the relevant teams for review. Kind regards, AnyVan

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE – DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. MY BELONGINGS WERE STOLEN. I had a shocking and traumatic experience with this company. The driver collected my boxes and, instead of delivering them the same day as agreed, kept them overnight. When I raised this concern with the company, I was told this was “common practice” and that there was nothing to worry about. The next day, the boxes were delivered to my storage unit. When I opened them, I was devastated. My belongings had been stolen and replaced with paper, plastic bags, and rubbish. My shoes, bags, clothes, and gifts for family members were all gone. I immediately reported the incident to the company, but no meaningful action was taken. Instead, I was told to contact the police. The matter has now been reported to the police and is under investigation. I cannot describe the feeling of opening your boxes and discovering that everything inside has been taken. It was a deeply upsetting and distressing experience. I strongly advise anyone considering this company to think twice. My belongings were stolen while in their care, and I received little support when I reported it. Avoid this company at all costs.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the lack of communication throughout your move, the delays experienced, and the missing boxes. While we are pleased that the majority of your items arrived safely and in good condition, we completely understand the concern and frustration caused by the missing items. Our team is actively working with you and the police to help bring this matter to a resolution. As part of our internal investigation, we have already taken action and the transport provider involved has been removed from our platform. As AnyVan is not a legal authority, we are unable to determine whether a criminal offence has occurred. The correct process under UK law is for missing items of this nature to be reported to the police, which has been done in this case. We will continue to cooperate fully and provide any assistance required while the investigation is ongoing. Kind regards, AnyVan
