“we bought a transfer box for a ford kuga , the transoport from southampton to edinburgh was as they said 5 days and the price for the box was very reasonable as we could not get one anyplace but silverlake came up with a box within 3 weeks .

“The vendor took the order for the part over the phone and asked for payment by card from my daughter. The quote was for £42 but they charged £60. The part did not arrive the next day as promised and when we called they said it had not been ordered, even though the money had been taken from the bank account. It took a long time to sort out, we eventually did get the part we needed from them but would not use again.”

“Ordered and paid for parts with eco euro parts by telephone and they told me they had the part in stock. Left them three messages to get in contact with me but no reply. After 7 days received an email from 1st choice stating that my payment was being returned as they could not supply the part. Badly let down by eco euro parts. Will never ues them again. 1 star rating refers to eco euro parts as communications from 1st choice were good”

“I've found this to be a very frustrating experience...my daughter's car broke down in Cambridge. We live in Essex. After recovering the car to a local garage, it was discovered that the clutch and gearbox had gone! The garage receommnded that I contact 1st Choice Spares for a replacement gearbox. The car is 15 years old and not worth a great deal of money.
I ordered a replacement gearbox from A&C Auto Salvage, based in Bolton. They had been with 1st Choice Spares for almost 20 years.
I ordered the gearbox on 07/04/2025. It arrived at the garage on 11/04/2025 at 6pm, when the garage was closed. It was re-delivered early the following week and was fitted to the car on 16/04. I received a call from the garage to explain they were unable to engage 3rd gear and there was an issue with the synchromesh. They explained that if I contacted A&C Auto's, they should contact the garage via video call and they wouyld be able to explain exactly what the issue was.
As of today, A&C Auto's state they are 'too busy' to call the garage and frustingly, the garage have also given a similar response.
The gearbox came with a 3-month guarantee.
My daughter has been without a car for over 2 weeks and the saga continues...”
