“29th of July paid for a replacement 2015 engine, The delivery was initially promised within 3–5 working days, but the item did not arrive until more than a week later.
Upon delivery to my garage, it was confirmed that the engine was not the correct model. Specifically, it was a 2012 engine, and several parts and the engine code did not match my vehicle’s specifications. As a result, my mechanic advised that I return the engine.
I contacted Vauxhall Spares Ltd multiple times to discuss the matter. During these calls, I was treated rudely by various staff members. Despite forwarding a detailed report from my garage and requesting either a correct replacement or a full refund, I have no response.
Since then, I have made several follow-up calls to the company, during which I have continued to experience unprofessional and dismissive behavior. I have repeatedly been told I would receive a call back from either the manager or an engineer—yet no one has contacted me.”

“What a fantastic service offered by 1st Choice, within minutes of placing my request on their site l had quotes coming in. So, so easy, I should have used them when I first started looking it would have saved me so much time spent reading adverts only to find the part doesn't fit.

“1st Choice Spares offers a service to try and find a spare part for your motor vehicle. The process is very simple and quick. I have used them many times.
We placed a request for an A/C compressor. We selected one from a list if offers. We phoned the garage to ask a simple question which was very helpful. Part arrived well packaged and on time. And it's from here things started going wrong...
The part delivered did not look like it was going to fit. We raised a question that the part delivered might not fit, even though we gave over car details/registration. The garage assured us it would fit. We then went ahead removing old compressor. They did not look the same. We raised a complaint to 1st Choice Spares who must have forwarded our complaint to be told again that it will fit. We replied with pictures and video and asked for a full refund along with postage. The garage agreed. We sent the item back using Royal Mail 'Signed For' which arrived on the Monday. By Wednesday, I hadn't heard anything so I sent a message to 1st Choice. Nothing. So on the Friday I raised yet another complaint. The garage then wanted to know who signed for it, so I replied with yet more photos. That day I got confirmation from PayPal that the refund was received...but without postage.
This was not a good transaction. I have used 1st Choice many times without any issues. But when there is an issue...1st Choice let me down. They offered no mediation or advise to me. Oh, and of course, we are now £10 short because of the garage's mistake.
I shall longer be using 1st Choice (or the garage).”

We do need to communicate with both parties in any dispute, and this can take time with some toing and froing.
Our last update at 08/08/2025 12:12:25 was that a refund would be issued.
