“Your company is a disgrace. I paid nearly £80 for my Christmas meat and it did not arrive due to your system or your delivery companies system of automatic postcode recognition. Not my fault but you won't give me my money back. You are responsible by law to deliver the product at the right time. Thanks for ruining mine and my family's Christmas!”

“I have not received my order they. Said had perished and I was To get back to you that is. Why I texted. You yesterday as I want my refund very. Disappointed”

“Placed my order with a selected delivery day of Tuesday 6th December. It wasn't delivered. DPD states there was a 1 day delay, they hadn't received the package. I contacted customer services on the Wednesday they stated the order had probably been destroyed and they would resend it for the following Tuesday. No apologies or offer of a refund/reduction in cost. The order was placed for a family BBQ and so we had to source our items elsewhere”

“As advised to yourselves on Thursday 10/11 your courier did not use intercom to announce arrival or knock on my front door. According to the photo he submitted the parcel was left on a public landing!!!!! Not a safe place to leave anything. I wonder why you have not contacted me prior to this.”

“Very upset to find fragments of bone in the merguez sausages. I had purchased five packs for a friends leaving party (these are her favourite) but I daren’t use them now. Very disappointing for a premium sausage and supposedly quality butcher.”

“Very bad beef! Tasted like lamb or something similar and not fresh as it’s looks on the website! Seems like is almost left to rot then decides to sell it after weeks of sitting in their fridge! The uk farmers are ruining the meat eating experience by trying to rage their meat for no absolute reason when they can just sell the meat when is fresh instead let it sit somewhere for weeks as by the time you have it looking like us something off the main road! Only dogs is worthy eating these kind of meat! No nutritional value whatsoever after the meat is let to sit for weeks! I regret spending my money and time as l could of just go to Iceland and got their frozen meat even more tasty that mean for this lit!! Ridiculous!”

“Unfortunately, this is the third time I am ordering from Swaledale and I am still baffled as to why DPD never delivered to my door. From the other butchers like Eatgreatmeat, Field and Flower, the delivery is to my door by the same DPD. Is there an instruction that the butcher gives that DPD has to adhere to? The chicken carcass I ordered smelt sour and I had to toss them out - the order had been left downstairs outside my apt building and the iced packs inside were no longer cold so I think that might have added to why some of the meat was gone.”

“Order processing, packaging & delivery excellent. Lovely looking, well matured & fattened meat (though lacking in any form of meaty smell) ready for joyful consumption. Perfectly cooked & tender to the knife following Gary Rhodes recipe we were at a loss to discover no discernible flavour whatsoever. Such a huge disappointment to say the very least.”

“i believe i have above average experience of game. i have never seen so much blood in six partridge and that to me means they have been previously frozen. i think your website says game is never frozen. i roasted two and meat was still pink but they were very tough. so the other four i have casseroled and thus disguise. don't worry i don't do social media. jim downs”

“Very disappointed on the short ribs ordered had 2 packs and both had the least amount of red meat on them I have ever seen. I am fully aware of the fat content on a short rib but this was ridiculous and does not resemble their pictures at all”

“By no means Swaledales fault but at 7pm on the day of delivery and after having to chase up, found out my order wasn't going to arrive. DPD severely let the business down and left me with a house full of guests and no meat to bbq. Swaledale were communicative although I did feel that given their contractor failed, more compensation could have been provided. I will try and use the business again with fingers crossed!”

“The back bacon we ordered arrived labelled accordingly. Unfortunately , it was incorrect. Smoked bacon had been sent packaged as back bacon . Not impressed”
