“Since using Swaledale to supply the beef silverside I use to produce my biltong (cured, spiced and dried beef), I have found the quality of the meat varies considerably from order to order. I was disappointed with my last delivery which was tough and contained a lot of sinew/gristle. Most of my previous orders were tender with a good layer of fat.”

“Great product let down by the fact I had a voucher for £30 but decided to increase the order to over £60 to get free delivery. Doesn't work like that though as they only counted the additional spend so no free delivery. Shame as the products are good but probably won't buy again due to this.”

“Sirloin & venison sausages absolutely excellent. However, probably my taste, but the artisan St John’s haggis had way too much allspice seasoning to the point of it tasting medicinal; it was also extremely salty. Could be just my taste, but we did not enjoy it at all and left much.”

“Am very sorry to say that my recent sirloin steak order wasn't too good. Although tasty, it was quite chewy with sinew/gristle left in the steak. From a personal view, it was also too thin. As a new customer, I am not sure if I have the option to request thicker steaks cut to my preference ( around 10oz ??) My purchase was exceptionally well packed N.B.The centre-cut fillet was perfect 😉 Thank you”

“I ordered a beef rib joint for lunch on Christmas day. As we were spending Christmas in a holiday rental I ordered the food to be delivered there. Unfortunately, the beef was delivered a day before it was supposed to be and we had not yet arrived. Fortunately we were able to retrieve the delivery when we arrived. This is why I gave it three stars. The meat itself however was wonderful and deserving of five stars.”

“Turkey was great and the stuffing was excellent, however, my order was meant to include giblets and did not which was a rather unfortunate surprise on Christmas day. It also arrived a day late though that was not their fault but the delivery companies. Probably won't re-use as missing items in an order without notification is a bit of a deal breaker for me.”

“This is the second year I bought a fillet of beef for my Wellington, the quality is good but the shape was far too chunky for the Wellington, I wish I could have had a thinner one as it is notoriously difficult to portion it, also I would have loved to choose the weight of it. I'm afraid unless I'll see some changes I will have to shop elsewhere. Regards Giancarlo”

“The order did not arrive as DPD decided not to deliver it. This was meat ordered for Christmas Dinner and whilst Swaledale refunded the order in full we were left without the high quality food we were expecting.”

“Tried many online butchers and was disappointed. Tried swaledale and today cooked the sirloin steaks. They looked amazing but looks can be deceiving and I was gutted when the taste was good but they were chewy cooked medium rare. I was hoping for better but disappointed again. I have yet to try the sirloin roast and the beef mince so we will see. E Allison.”

“Sausages, steak and chicken wings all fine, but the LA Galbi short ribs are a disappointment. I know it's a fatty cut but this was mostly pure fat. Not what they were showing in their pictures online at all.”

“Delivery was slow, as took over 2 days to arrive, don't think it's Swaledale, more of DpD delivery, but as the box says delivery within a day, this didn't happen. Meat looks good but not yet had the chance to sample any as of this review.”

“We recently had our second delivery of meat as the first was delicious. This time I ordered a steak selection to decide which cut we like the best. I am sorry to say that whilst very yummy all our cuts were under the stated weight!”
