Love that it arrived so quickly and that it is not frozen so that there is no risk of defrosting en route.

The quality of the meat is excellent and I really appreciate the recipe ideas online. Lots of different cuts of meat available along with offal and other parts you don’t see in the shops. Very speedy delivery service too.

Good service. Was very disappointed in one of the products and a really kind man Jorge sent me a new one free of charge. I sent him pics of the first joint telling him my concerns. Replaced the next day!!

Ordering from Swaledale was easy and the meat was delivered promptly and well packaged. The only small criticism of the venison sausages I ordered was that the casing were too tough to cut and chew through. The flavour was still good though.

Lovely piece of beef for big family meal, cooked to medium rare in the Aga. Everyone commented on the flavour/tenderness. Ordered on Thursday afternoon, arrived at time specified on Saturday morning, delivered by DPD. Will use Swaledale again as a result.

Loved the packaging and prompt delivery but very disappointed in the Topside of beef joint that I roasted last Sunday. Maybe I chose the wrong cut to roast, but this turned out to be incredibly tough to eat and not good at all. The other goods ordered were great: The beef mince, pork mince, Calabrian sausages, and Italian sausages. Maybe you could suggest a better cut of beef for roasting? Many thanks Sara Stocks

Hi Sara, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's challenging to comment as you don't mention how you cooked the joint, however one thing worth noting is that topside is a leaner cut than some roasting joints and benefits hugely from being cooked medium rare. you're looking for a final internal temperature of 53-55°C - you'll need to remove from the oven at around 49°C as the joint will rise in temperature during resting. I have written a guide on how to cook a topside of beef you can find here; https://journal.swaledale.co.uk/how-to-guides/how-to-cook-a-topside-of-beef/ The slow roasting technique is particularly effective, if you have the time and the inclination. Other joints you may enjoy, that are naturally more tender and have a higher fat content are Rolled Sirloin, Ribeye of Beef Roast (both delicious cooked to the temperature mentioned for topside) - Rolled Beef Brisket would be a great option if you enjoy a joint that is slow roasted and falling apart, links here for you; https://swaledale.co.uk/products/sirloin-roast-rolled https://swaledale.co.uk/products/ribeye-roast https://swaledale.co.uk/products/rolled-brisket I hope this helps. Best regards, Jorge

Having previously purchased a selection of top quality Lamb & Mutton products, I chose a range of prepared Beef products including a roasting joint, ribs, Salt Beef, Smoked Cured Tongue & sausages. Cooked Salt Beef simply at home with really good results, divided Yorkshire Breakfast Sausagemeat into 8 patties & enjoyed home cooked version of well known Breakfast treat. Cannot fault the quality of the tasting experience & you definitely get what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend this Yorkshire Butcher from Tongue to Tail.
