“The porchetta was delicious. The pigs in blankets were perfect. But, golly, gee, damn, that York ham was unbelievable! Light colour, subtle taste, and a texture from heaven. Proper York ham, and I've not found that for a very long time. I can't thankyou enough. Suffice to say, my next order won't be too far away.”

“This is by far the best quality meat I have ever eaten. I would not hesitate to order again. The beef rib roast was especially fabulous. Thank you Swaledale for giving us an option away from the supermarket mass produced alternatives which are a world away in terms of quality and no doubt impact on our health.”

“I ordered a free range chicken, a rolled leg of lamb, streaky bacon, sausages and a cockerel for Christmas. The chicken, lamb, bacon and sausages were all delicious. However, the cockerel was uninspiring. I don’t think vacuum packing was helpful as the bird was flabby and didn’t seem very fresh. I have had cockerel before and was very impressed with it but this time it was a disappointment.”

“I used Swaledale Butchers in 2022. The service was absolutely amazing. My Christmas meat was hand delivered as there was a slight issue with the delivery service due to bad weather conditions. Their priority was not to let the customer down and they did not. They delivered my Christmas produce with great care and the meat was kept perfectly chilled. I used Swaledale again this year in 2023 and for my Christmas meats. The meats were fresh, perfectly packed and kept chilled throughout the delivery. My past orders were the beef fillet, topside and silverside of beef joints, stewing steak, ox cheeks, sausages, Boston Pork Butt and bones to make my stocks and all were very tender and succulent. I will alway purchase my items from Swaledale now. It’s so reassuring to know that you can order from a business that takes pride in their produce and their customers. Please order as you will not be disappointed. Thank you Swaledale.”

“Ordered the Christmas cockerel which was FANTASTIC. I have no idea why people opt for turkey when you can get this moist large flavoursome bird. Brilliant. Will be back next year for this. We also ordered the ham which was equally outstanding. Really tasty, not too fatty and great over the festive period. You poached me from Pipers farm now. All my special meats will be ordered from here. Truly outstanding”

“Whilst I think quality of meat excellent my problem is that I am a single householder with a very small freezer therefore find the minimum spend of £60 difficult to freeze. At present am not sure whether or not I will reorder which disquiets me as think it is important to eat meat which has been raised in a ethical manner.”
