This is a review for the Lowa CAMINO GTX model. I have used these boots for a few years now and they're holding themselves fine. I used them to do the "Southern Upland Way" (March 2020) and many other hikes, including 7 days in Switzerland doing a "via alpina." They offer great grip on all terrains, excellent level of protection against rocks and water (they are very good at keeping water out). The outsole is (as listed in the specs) rigid so you better have some socks with good cushioning. I much prefer a rigid outsole that does not flex (for high mileage, like a 40km/day, this is truly beneficial). The downside of it is only when you walk in tarmac (your feet will suffer more than they would with softer outsoles, a price l'm willing to pay as my hikes are hardly ever through tarmac). The lacing system is a joy. Super easy to put the boots on/off, easy to find the right amount of tension, no hot spots, just excellent. Remember not to store them in a box and follow Lowa storing/care instructions. All in all, an excellent boot for (multi-day) hiking/trekking. The only 'negative' I can find is the weight. I wish Lowa could find a way to reduce their weight while offering exactly the same level of comfort, protection and durability. Maybe l'm asking too much. Lowa, don't lower the weight at the expense of offering us a lower end product. The boots are truly excellent as they are. Highly recommended for the listed activities (they'll be a total overkill for just walking or doing so in easy terrains). PS: Shame I can't upload a picture.

The boots arrived promptly. Sadly they are very narrow. Send them back but can’t get to returns point due to Covid 19.

Had a problem with boots purchased not the most suitable for the terrain walking in. I must stress that there was nothing wrong with the boots. They were comfortable and fully waterproof. The help I got from the company was excellent, technically I wasn’t aware of the range of boots and soles. Their solution to the problem was quick and outstanding. Make sure you talk to the sales staff when purchasing and enjoy what I consider to be a very exceptional high quality walking boot backed up by a company that cares

The ordering process was simple (once I had overcome an initial glitch caused by inadvertently pressing a button twice!) and the boots were delivered within a couple of days. they are an excellent, comfortable fit and I look forward to many happy walks in them.

They keep changing these shoes, seldom for the better. The latest version loses eye holes, adds cleats and puts logos on front, back and side - just in case you forget what you are wearing. It is one thing to strip cost out of a product, another thing to be a fidgety manufacturer.

Arrived quickly. Colour lighter than on website (difficult to judge on a photo). Bought them this week so can't judge the wear and tear.

11 miles on our first outing and no sore bits or blisters. Remarkably comfortable!! Thoroughly recommend...so good to have a narrow fitting too.

I’ve only had the boots (renegade wide fit) for a couple of days but so far the fit feels very good and they’ve kept my feet dry. Delivery by UPS was very disappointing so I would be reluctant to order directly from Lowa again. After waiting in all day for delivery I received an mail at 6.30 pm telling me delivery had been postponed until the following day for no apparent reason. Lowa - UPS are letting you down, I would strongly suggest you switch to a more reliable company.

I love Lowa renegade walking boots this is my fourth pair. I find them very comfortable and absolutely waterproof, even when they are getting old and the leather is beginning to crack in places. They are very easy to keep clean and the soles have good grip. They work for the sort of walking I do in the peak district.

These didn’t work for me...probably as my feet are wide. So will have to return them.

My Renegade walking shoes arrived on time. They are the fourth pair of Renegades I have had- the details have changed slightly (the lacing is not quite the same) but they work very well for my hill-walking, staying firm and waterproof. I never make a recommendation on footwear for hill-walking (everyone's feet are different} but I certainly think they are worth trying to see if they suit your feet - if they do suit you, you will have an excellent pair of walking shoes.

The boots are great. But I already knew that as these Renegade GTX Mid II's were a replacement for a work out pair that wee 12 years old. But what was annoying was that I tried to order a pair of Dark Grey colour Renegade's but the LOWA website for some reason ended up ordering me a pair of Dark Grey/Blue colour Renegade's, which was not what I wanted or ordered. I think they were also cheaper too. So be ware when using the online site to order, suggest going to another site to order.

Genuinely the best outdoor shoes I have bought!! From first time on they felt so comfortable I went out for a hike along side of Loch Sunart. Covered 7 miles mixed ground and over rocks and felt like I was in a pair of already broken in shoes, just so comfortable. Offer good balance on tricky ground, good grip, actually feel like trainers. Bought Scarpa last month gave them to my mate after 2 wears, then bought Meindl which although look good makes me feel like bambi taking his first steps while pissed.....expensive mistakes both! Have had Lowa GTX boots for years ( 3 pairs ) bit miffed I didn't try their shoes firstly but now I have I'm a huge fan and convert. BTW I have to wear waterproof shoes every day for work up here in highlands so they get hammered.....and I walk 7-9miles per day to keep BP down....guess I have done over 100 miles in these Lowa's already and can't fault them.
