After several pairs of San Francisco GTX and Strato Evo Lo i'd thought id upgrade to Renegrade GTX Lo and whilst they may be great in the outdoors they are terrible in the urban enviroment. Any urban surface that is not Macadam based is slippy underfoot and you end up cautiously navagating the urban world. Not ideal. Ive tried the Explorer Lo and they seem nose heavy and not suited to me. LOWA Bring back some crossover traveller footware, something thats not hardcore and still quality - 5 Stars for San Francisco and Strato Evo but a lowly 2 for the Renegade GTX

This was my 4th pair of this shoe and sadly it does not perform as well as previous pairs. thier grip on slippery surfaces seems to deteriorated; I assume you have changed the composition of th sole material. either way they do not inspire confidence when on wet surfaces. To the point I was walking recently in Cumbria and slipped twice when descending Helvelen and went and purchased a pair of fell runner trainers to complete my stay. The lowa shoes have been relegated to caual local walking

Hi Gerald, Thanks for the review, but sorry to hear you're unhappy with the Renegade GTX Lo shoes. If you haven't done so already, do reach out to the customer services team on orders@lowa.co.uk, and they will be able to take a look at this in more detail for you. Thanks, LOWA UK

Lowa‘s insole is bad.I didn't wear this in the heavy rain day or heavy hiking usage. But the edge of the insole separated. Only 2 week!

Boots were too narrow. Returned for exchange to wider fitting but issued a refund without explanation. Pity, looked to be nice boots.

The pro version of the Innox Evo is no where near the quality of the Innox Evo GTX. The sizing is also different, I returned my pair. I have nerve damage on my right leg and the GTX is the only shoe that keeps me in the correct position and is comfortable thorughout a day of wear. I contacted LOWA and have been advised the GTX II is out end of may. I eagerly await this release.

Comfortable. Lightweight for leather. Waterproofing failed after 2 years = c. 1,500km = c. 80 hikes over moderate-to-easy terrain. Not impressed.

Followed the instructions, clean, cream then spray. First walk in the wet resulted in a creamy milky discharge from the shoe

Zephyr Earth GTX Mid - Started splitting at the seams around the toe area within weeks of purchase, the gore-tex began to crack and split after about 12 months. I decided to contact Lowa regarding the warranty around 18 months after purchase in case any further defects arose. However, was informed that seam defects don't come under warranty, quote; "as it’s not a manufacturing defect, but rather classed as wear and tear – the boots have simply been used to the max, have probably covered thousands of miles, and have now reached the end of their useable life." Don't expect them to last very long, 3 months of fair usage at max, before defects begin to appear which won't be covered under warranty, rendering them no longer water-proof and then it's pot-luck as to how long before beginning to fall apart. In regards to their performance, they aren't particularly comfortable out-of-the-box, have a very hard sole, tend to pinch upper foot and the toes (especially the little toe I find) and have very poor grip, especially on any wet surface. Bits of the sole seem to chip off as well, and after around 18 months use the sole has now worn through. Positives: they feel very light on the foot with good laces and a very supportive upper section around the ankle. Ideal for light use if you only want to use them occasionally to walk the dog or for a couple of planned expeditions, not a hiker's boot though.

The boot insole was stuffed in and is not a corresponding fit- has to obtain other insoles. I have owned Lowa boots for years but like most things nowadays just sloppy standards. Disappointed.

Whilst I checked that the insole I was ordering was for the specific walking boot that I have, when it arrived it was longer than the original and in one section narrower than the original LOWA insole. The length was easily trimmed but as it was narrower I'm left with a different (less comfortable) feel!

Ordered some boots from the website, but despite showing as in stock they were not. Refund came through quickly though, but had to buy boots elsewhere.

Wore them for the first time today. It rained and they bled blue dye everywhere I walked. I wasn’t popular, and had to change into a pair of flip flops, which is all I had at the time. I may review my choice, but at the moment, I am not happy.

Tried a size 5 1/2 in the shop, fit ok but i thought a 6 would better especially if i wanted a thicker sock, but shop didn't have them so ordered online.size 6 came...couldn't even get my foot in! Weird sizing! Returned same day.
