“I was recommended the service and I found it a good way to get rid of some old university textbooks. I thought it was great that I had the option of having my books collected from home as I struggle to get out of the house/that We Buy Books provided me with the necessary labels. However they were slow to send my cheque to me. Despite this, when I chased it up We Buy books were quick to respond to me and in getting the problem resolved.”

“Easy to use service but couldn't find a way to check the collection date without having to rearrange it. Have had several notes from courier saying they are going to pick my books up when this has already been done and money received. So better communication from courier and website would be good.”

“I had an odd experience: one of my two consignments was rejected because of a "strong smell of smoke". True, three items out of 12 had been kept in a study where cigarettes are smoked, but being on bookshelves that would only have affected the spines. Yet apparently it affected the entire consignment. I paid £5 to get the box back and couldn't smell anything except the smell of old books. Also, they don't accept many fiction books, so it takes a while to get an offer for not very much. On the positive side, their staff were quick and helpful, and I got my books back within 24 hours (and promptly sold them on another site).”

“Customer service were completely unresponsive when I enquired about needing an additional postage label. I ended up posting my books way over a month late, but I still got paid the right amount, so can’t complain.”

“My experience with WeBuyBooks was excellent however only awarded 3 stars due to their use of Hermes courier service. The courier turned up over a week late to collect my parcels. Unfortunately due to this I would probably not use WeBuyBooks again until they stop using Hermes. Unfortunately I have experience of this courier service incompetence.”

“Very low prices given for books e.g.5p. Or 10p. and quite hard to find books that are acceptable. The service such as acknowledging the receipt of the parcel, and payment was all very acceptable.”

“First time I used Webuybooks. It is easy to use but got frustrated by the number of books rejected (Webuybooks was not prepare to buy them) and disappointed of the value some of them were given.”

“Having lost one of our items in 2018 as well as rejecting another, we now use this site very little. They failed to apologise or acknowledge that they may have erred. In fact they took a high handed attitude, which has permanently damaged the relationship Therefore we cannot be impartial in our assessment. If you have a query do not accept payment otherwise they consider the matter closed”

“It is frustrating that you advertise the buying of books and yet the majority of those I tried to sell were "Not being bought at this time", without further explanation. I have worked put that you actually only are interested in buying newish books. Many of those I did sell were valued at 5p!! I currently have 9 books that you have accepted and quoted for - totalling £1.27 - a long way off your £5 minimum. However, the method of sending books and payment of monies due works well and is simple..”
