“bit disppointed how many books are on your wanted list and the value is very small”

“Overall, everything went smoothly and I received payment as expected. However, I can’t help feeling that the pricing system is a bit misleading. The first few books I scanned were valued at around £1.50 each, which encouraged me to continue. After that, almost every book was only worth 10p, meaning I had to give away a large number of books for almost nothing just to reach the minimum value required for shipping. The service works and there were no problems with the process itself, but the low prices offered for most books made the whole experience feel disappointing and somewhat like a scam, even though I did receive the payment in the end.”

“The selling process was easy (scanning and sending) but a lot of books weren’t accepted or I could get a higher price offer from World of Books instead, and given the low prices offered it was very hard to meet the selling threshold.”

“Easy to scan and send, but there must be some logistics issues because I had to chase several times to understand if the books had been received and then to request payment. Despite that, I am still getting emails saying "don't forget to send your books to us!" even though I have, and have been paid.”

“Very fussy about books that will be accepted and most books attract a minimal price, often pence. It is not like the adverts where it seems like every book might be worth a few pounds and all are accepted. Having said that if you have books to get rid off it is a convenient way of doing so and making a little money, the emphasis being on a 'little.' The collection option with Royal Mail worked fine although confused why I was sent packaging labels that I used and then the post woman brought some as well! From WeBuyBooks receiving my parcel to payment was about a week, longer than I had expected and no explanation as to why. Again the advertising suggests payment is made same date the books are received; this was not my experience.”

“It was disappointing that so many of the books that belonged to my late father that cost £20 plus were valued at only around 50p.Some weren't even given an offer. However, I will say that the process was easy and payment was prompt”

“They often buy books that others don’t and buying those without bar codes is great but they often have errors and many missing titles which you try to email them about but they just refer you to the list which is an endless doom loop. Having to find £7.50 for a minimum trade is the most off putting part thing about using this company.”

“Decided to try this. Surpised at how many books they did not want and surprised, both ways, with some of the valuations. Sent off the package which was dealt with quickly and communication was good. Main disappointment, which I had seen previously, was that a book was rejected there due to faults with the binding. this was one of the more expensive books and I know for a fact that it was in virtually perfect condition (a thin travel guide and we never went to the place!). It does seem a coincidence, as others have found that the most valued books are regularly rejected on site, since it fell below their threshold for return, it is lost. Will not use this co again as I fear that this is a pattern that is likely to be repeated.”

“If Webuybooks accept the titles, the process is easy. However, becasue they reject twice as many as they accept, it becomes a time consuming effort for no result. Frankly, a lot of effort for not much return.”

“To get the minimum that we buy books would take (£10) I had to scan hundreds of books ! I am a volunteer in a volunteer run library. I won’t be using we buy books again!”

“All OK though there was a mix up with the collection date. I went for the first one although I wasn't going to be in all day. Phoned your office and said I'd leave it out for Royal Mail to collect, which happened OK. R Mail also called the next day thinking there might be another. I was able to thank them and reassure them there was only the one.”

“Great app, bar code scan is easy as is input of ISBN on older non barcoded books. Parcel drop off is great, I can post the boxes in my own time at a local drop off Evri/Royal Mail without waiting around for a courier. Only issue…. quite a few books rejected and almost alway - the higher value ones 🤔😆 Reasons given are - damage or missing…. When I know they were in good condition and definitely in the box. So between me boxing them and the assessor pricing them …. something happens. Maybe at the unboxing dept 😳🤔”
