AWFUL COMPANY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The worst company I’ve ever come across, the turn up once and do not return. They say someone will call you back, and they don’t. You are forever chasing them. I feel so sorry for elderly people who do not have anyone to help them chase them up. They leave people without heating and hot water for weeks on end. All contracts should be cancelled. Should be ashamed of themselves.

Appalling company, have had similar experience in the past but never got round to leaving a review. A shambles of a company and the director should take a closer look into how his operation is running, I’m sure he would be ashamed. Contacted on Monday regarding my disabled daughters heating and hot water, was booked for Tuesday 8am-1pm took the day off of work to be there to open the door. Engineer finally turned up at 2:30 and said the office scheduled the job for 12-6pm. Was told by engineer that fan for boiler would be ordered. It is now Friday, I have contacted a number of to times and no response, nor has anyone even bothered to contact me back, Zero communication. My daughter is unable to wash and needs heating and a warm bath for medical reasons. She has been bed bound since Tuesday due to the cold affecting her bones and stiffening. The people in the office are extremely unprofessional and a group of young girls discussing personal life whilst putting me on hold but forgetting to actually put me on hold! Incredibly disgusted by the way we have been treated - ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS. Utterly appalling avoid at all cost.

I needed a gas cooker disconnected quickly. I contacted four local businesses but only VHL responded. From start to finish the ‘customer journey’ was made smooth from the level of customer service through to the gas engineer not only doing a very professional job but also taking the time answer my questions. I would have no hesitation in recommending VHL.

DON'T DON'T please do any work with this company. You want lose money! You want lose Time! You want hiegh blood pressure! Then go for it. It was first and last time ever . I've asked for Elictricty and gas report inspection. Done my part paid full amount, booked date and time as norm people. The day of action started when they were ment to come on the date and time ... first of all no written confirmation, second no invoice like real companies. My time was between 12 and 1 pm to start. I called 11:30 am for confirmation and follow up ... the time changed to 2-4 pm Started pushing and asking for them On the time for the engineer where supposed to show he didnt and called office where they confirmed he is outside waiting ... checked the door , the parking ... no one there ..called and update them , after couple of calles they gave his no. Called me he was having lunch and will be with me in 10 mins. Another 35 mins to show. The othe engineer was suppose to come at 4:05pm , no one came , start the journey again , until 4:50pm... The first engineer confirmed verbally the gas pass and he will send the report via email then hard copy , email recived , hard copy until now nothing " one week" The eirc engineer confirmed to my wife and my self verbally that everything ok and pass and he will send report via email and hard copy early next week , but until this moment nothing, and after calling and promising from the company the send ASP.. the company removed their hand from the engineer and gave him my number. He called me now and said he cant give me the report because it failed??!?!? Why now?? and how come ?! ... this is crazy

First of all please don’t pay attention to the good reviews, these poor reviewers were bribed to do so. The company’s reputation is so fragile that it needs to bribe its most vulnerable customers by promising them a payment of £20 for writing a review so please do not fall into this trap.Whether or not they ask customers to write a favourable review is irrelevant because paying is indicative and is intended to influence the reviewer and that per-se is unethical and intended to create a fake reputation to mislead the impressionable new customers. Another advice: please please don’t pay a deposit and if you think the company deserves a second chance then at least don’t pay any deposit and also get a lawyer just in case! I just instructed my bank to initiate an investigation for a potential intent of fraudulent conduct and also to pursue a refund on my behalf after having a traumatic experience with the company. I am also planning to sue the company over the next few days if the company fails-as I expect-to refund the full amount that was paid as a deposit for the unfulfilled job and for the miserably handled cancellation. Don’t trust the company’s claims about any follow-ups jobs, it is an empty promise, the company endeavours to get your money, that is the name of game: one transaction service! I suspect that the company will survive more than a few months, as a consultant I am accustomed to dealing with this type of businesses, the company is flat and extremely exhausted and the workers seems unable to run a cohesive plan and you get the sense that they are demotivated and comfortable with this mess, they know the damage is irrevocable, nobody tries to improve the image of the company, they simply don’t care about the inconsistency and the craziness. You get the impression that they are already leaving the company and spending their time applying for secured and decent jobs! It is too futile trying to impress them when thing go wrong, don’t disperse your energy only conserve it for the court! Bottom line this company is a mess, unprofessional and extremely dishonest, avoid it before is too late, there are countless professional companies out there. P.S For fairness sake I will certainly update you over the next few days.

VHL gave us a good quote, a quick appointment and excellent service. The engineer that came was very easy to work with and turned up on time and worked efficiently. I would use VHL again.

Stupidly confirmed a booking with them to fix a boiler, and asked for a breakdown of the pricing (they never sent over - we got a quote with it all combined, no breakdown). Called and canceled the appointment within 2 hours due to the lack of breakdown, and was told by two people in the office - on two separate occasions - that the refund is being processed and that's "not a problem". Fast-forward two days and I've received an e-mail saying that we will not be getting any of our money back, and have nothing to show for it due to the terms and conditions. That's fine, this is something companies pull all the time. Checked their terms and conditions and it turns out you do get a refund for labour, and we own the parts they bought for the job (if they did buy them in 2 hours EDIT - asked for proof of the order, 48 hours, nothing so far). More lies from them, or just incompetence? Would have been nice to have that breakdown of prices now, right? Asked them over the phone for a breakdown, to which they're charging x3 more for parts than the other company we went with, and x3 for labour (company we went we with said the job only needed 1 part, not the 5 that they claimed). Also asked to see how much they paid for them, the date they bought them, and confirmation in e-mail of what was agreed over the phone. None of that was sent either. In the same phone call was told we would now not be receiving the parts (even though they told me I own them) because we were looking into action with our bank, and that if the bank agreed with us "how do we know you'll send the parts back"? Interesting that issue of trust and terms agreed only matters when it works for them. I think you can tell a lot from a company about how it treats its customers during a stressful time (no hot water during a pandemic in which no one can leave the house), and how they resort to terms and conditions to justify their actions, especially when the company doesn't even know it's own terms and conditions/gives the wrong info/promises to give a refund then doesn't. I haven't even got into the angry calls from workers asking why we cancelled, the hanging up on phone calls from people in the office, or the classic conversation of; - I've spoken to the managers and they can't give a refund - So what do i do now? - You can speak to one of the managers - Ok - Well, actually I'm one of the managers - You spoke to yourself then? Overall, whether or not you want to go into Terms and Conditions (companies have a two week cooling off period in place that they have to adhere to under most circumstances) or what prices should or shouldn't be (one company charges £170, the other over £700 hmmm) I would say; Save your time and money, and go with a company that is coherent and honest from the get go, and not one who changes their mind on a whim and blames their mistakes on other people in the office. The last thing you need from a business is phrases like "I'm sorry for your experience" "I completely understand" or "due to our terms I can do nothing", and pick a company that actually has compassion and doesn't fire off company lines of it's money grabbing owners during a pandemic.

As a landlord I dread receiving a distress call from my tenants and with a new tenant in my Flat it's happened three times in the last month for different emergencies! This time it was a leak from the Washing Machine and water running into the flat below. Village Heating have come to the rescue on each occasion. Their plumbers advise you they are on their way, attend promptly and do a thorough and efficient repair and even send me photographic evidence to show the problems have been resolved. I have no hesitation in recommending the Village Heating Home Emergency Service.
