First of all please don’t pay attention to the good reviews, these poor reviewers were bribed to do so. The company’s reputation is so fragile that it needs to bribe its most vulnerable customers by promising them a payment of £20 for writing a review so please do not fall into this trap.Whether or not they ask customers to write a favourable review is irrelevant because paying is indicative and is intended to influence the reviewer and that per-se is unethical and intended to create a fake reputation to mislead the impressionable new customers. Another advice: please please don’t pay a deposit and if you think the company deserves a second chance then at least don’t pay any deposit and also get a lawyer just in case! I just instructed my bank to initiate an investigation for a potential intent of fraudulent conduct and also to pursue a refund on my behalf after having a traumatic experience with the company. I am also planning to sue the company over the next few days if the company fails-as I expect-to refund the full amount that was paid as a deposit for the unfulfilled job and for the miserably handled cancellation. Don’t trust the company’s claims about any follow-ups jobs, it is an empty promise, the company endeavours to get your money, that is the name of game: one transaction service! I suspect that the company will survive more than a few months, as a consultant I am accustomed to dealing with this type of businesses, the company is flat and extremely exhausted and the workers seems unable to run a cohesive plan and you get the sense that they are demotivated and comfortable with this mess, they know the damage is irrevocable, nobody tries to improve the image of the company, they simply don’t care about the inconsistency and the craziness. You get the impression that they are already leaving the company and spending their time applying for secured and decent jobs! It is too futile trying to impress them when thing go wrong, don’t disperse your energy only conserve it for the court! Bottom line this company is a mess, unprofessional and extremely dishonest, avoid it before is too late, there are countless professional companies out there. P.S For fairness sake I will certainly update you over the next few days.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, unlike us read the many poor reviews before booking this company and find a better plumbing supplier. VHL were booked by our tenent living in my wife’s flat (as we moved in together some years ago) as the heating system had stopped working correctly and he had accidentally broken the valve/tap on the bathroom radiator. VHL charged our tenent up front and come around and replaced the valve on the bathroom radiator. To fix the heating problem they suggested that changing the TRV heads on all other radiators may work and carried out the work before our approval and booked in a Power flush for the following week. A competent plumber or heating engineer would fully understand that the heating system was a closed system and a Power flush would not be nessecary and could not be the fault. Replacing the TRV heads on the radiators would have no effect with the heating problem. Out of the 4 heads and one valve VHL changed, two of them were left leaking and over time will damage our oak floors. We had British Gas and our regular plumber around to inspect the works VHL competed and to also diagnose the heating issue. The written report from our plumber and British Gas stated: VHL had competed unecesary works by changing the 4 TRV Heads, which two are leaking and would never of solved the heating issue. A Power flush was not required as the it’s a closed system and the fault is with the boiler, which is now being replaced. VHL charged our tenent £465 (which we have had to remburse our tenent for) for 4 TRV heads and 1 Valve, for what should be no more than 1hours labour to compete the works. The total for this should of been a maximum £7 per TRV, £15 for the value and £90 labour. Their parts are not heavily discounted and they have conned our kind tenent out of money as I was away on business abroad. We have struggled to communicate with VHL until we communicated that we were going to use our solicitors, but though Daniel started to communicate, it is still a challenge and will not give us a refund of any funds back, even after explaining to the owner, Daniel the faults with the repairs and unesecary TRV heads. Still he will not explain the over charge in fees. This company just says we explained the risks of any works we complete may not solve the fault, in truth they knew what they did would not solve the issue, just conning people out of money. Daniel at VHL states they will send an auditor around to see the faults in their work, but being very un-flexible on when this can happen and who needs to be present in the property, so I expect this will not happen, unless VHL commit and get some enthusiasm to resolving the problem. Check the various web sites before booking a plumber, this is the first time we haven’t and have had our fingers burnt and bank balance hit. Disappointed in the lack of embarrassment VHL show, not in any way care of what they have done or how they treat customers. This company is a con artist at work, DO NOT LET THEM INTO YOUR HOME! Be warned. Regards, Simon Jones Simon Jones Technical Production Director 07388 327 412

With a vast choice of trades on the market I suggest choosing another company. The work is substandard to say the least and a company with such a high staff turnover cannot be trusted. Half the time the engineers cannot even get your parts as the company owes various suppliers and has accounts suspended just causing delays, but of course you would be told another tale to excuse their failure as a business

Booked a service but they guy never turned up. Called the day before to confirm and gave them my contact number. They apparently tied to call me (on my old number) and left a message that they had to cancel.

Paid in full, but currently have a half-finished installation, with no hot water 3+ days and counting. An engineer has not turned up for the second day running to complete the job and they expect me to wait until next week. They never call back or proactively manage your case - management are always unavailable/in a meeting. You have to manage them. Worst customer experience and currently no committed resolution.

When the engineer arrived and started looking at my boiler he quite quickly reeled off a list of things that could have been wrong, then tried to convince me I needed a new boiler that would likely cost around £2k. I don’t believe my current boiler is old enough to justify a new one, and this is the first time I’ve had a problem so I was suspicious. When I said I’d need to get a second opinion before committing to that kind of expense he tried to deter me by saying a different company would be way more expensive than them etc. I later discovered that while he was looking at my boiler he’d disconnected a tube inside of it that meant after he’d gone I was stuck with no hot water or heating (it was working sporadically before he came), and when his job report was emailed to me he’d listed four things that needed replacing in order to fix the boiler. To get a second opinion I had an engineer from British Gas come round the next day and didn’t say anything about what the guy from Village had said to see if he would say the same. He actually managed to fix the boiler in less than an hour and didn’t need to replace anything, saving me £100s (or £1000s if I’d have believed I needed a new boiler!) I see Village has a lot of positive reviews but based on my personal experience I can only recommend that people steer well clear of them and be suspicious of anything they say.

Please avoid this company at all cost!!! Receptionist/secretary shouldn't work in customer service at all. I never had to talk to such a rude person in my whole life. In my company she would be fired instantly! Now about whole situation. ..Our boiler stopped working (flame failure ) so we called engineers from this company. We have been charged for diagnosis and left with not working boiler. 2 days later they came with spare part £250 + another charge for call out. After an hour they informed us that part which they replaced wasn't a problem. They left us for whole weekend without hot water and heating suggesting that they will send another engineer to have a look but first we have to book boiler service. When I told mentioned previously receptionist that effectively they are leaving us without heating and hot water for whole weekend her response was as follow :"Yeah...preety much". When we asked for refund because work wasn't done they told us that was inexperienced engineer (so if we would be enough lucky and have experienced one we wouldn't have to pay for 3 visits)We had to call on site another company which fixed our boiler in 15 minutes without extra costs and multiple visits. I'm going to tell all my friends and neighbours about VH in person and social media. People have to know that they will deal with highly incompetent company if they decide to call them.

I had a few tasks for this company. They sent an engineer who completed a couple of the easier ones. He failed to fix one of our biggest issues which was to do with radiators. Also, in the course of changing a light fitting he carelessly stood on our bannister, broke it and said he’d come back to fix it. A week later he and others at the company tried to charge me £420 to do that. When challenged they claimed it wasn’t their fault and was an unavoidable accident. They are not to be be trusted. Other reviews here seem to also be negative about their service.

I had a faulty shower replaced, and so far so good. The engineer who came to fit it was fine but their communication and customer service is poor. I thought the cost was steep, because the first engineer who came to 'diagnose' stayed less than 10 mins and just took a couple of photos.

I have paid for EICR visit and remedial work, but to date there is NO EICR REPORT! Every day I have called this past week and in fact today I called 3 times. At 640pm today after a whole week of chasing up, the out of hours service said the "Supervisor has now left' and it would be sent tomorrow, when at 540pm they said he was there at the office and working on my report! I am getting the impression that this is all a HOAX AND A SCAM!

Stupidly confirmed a booking with them to fix a boiler, and asked for a breakdown of the pricing (they never sent over - we got a quote with it all combined, no breakdown). Called and canceled the appointment within 2 hours due to the lack of breakdown, and was told by two people in the office - on two separate occasions - that the refund is being processed and that's "not a problem". Fast-forward two days and I've received an e-mail saying that we will not be getting any of our money back, and have nothing to show for it due to the terms and conditions. That's fine, this is something companies pull all the time. Checked their terms and conditions and it turns out you do get a refund for labour, and we own the parts they bought for the job (if they did buy them in 2 hours EDIT - asked for proof of the order, 48 hours, nothing so far). More lies from them, or just incompetence? Would have been nice to have that breakdown of prices now, right? Asked them over the phone for a breakdown, to which they're charging x3 more for parts than the other company we went with, and x3 for labour (company we went we with said the job only needed 1 part, not the 5 that they claimed). Also asked to see how much they paid for them, the date they bought them, and confirmation in e-mail of what was agreed over the phone. None of that was sent either. In the same phone call was told we would now not be receiving the parts (even though they told me I own them) because we were looking into action with our bank, and that if the bank agreed with us "how do we know you'll send the parts back"? Interesting that issue of trust and terms agreed only matters when it works for them. I think you can tell a lot from a company about how it treats its customers during a stressful time (no hot water during a pandemic in which no one can leave the house), and how they resort to terms and conditions to justify their actions, especially when the company doesn't even know it's own terms and conditions/gives the wrong info/promises to give a refund then doesn't. I haven't even got into the angry calls from workers asking why we cancelled, the hanging up on phone calls from people in the office, or the classic conversation of; - I've spoken to the managers and they can't give a refund - So what do i do now? - You can speak to one of the managers - Ok - Well, actually I'm one of the managers - You spoke to yourself then? Overall, whether or not you want to go into Terms and Conditions (companies have a two week cooling off period in place that they have to adhere to under most circumstances) or what prices should or shouldn't be (one company charges £170, the other over £700 hmmm) I would say; Save your time and money, and go with a company that is coherent and honest from the get go, and not one who changes their mind on a whim and blames their mistakes on other people in the office. The last thing you need from a business is phrases like "I'm sorry for your experience" "I completely understand" or "due to our terms I can do nothing", and pick a company that actually has compassion and doesn't fire off company lines of it's money grabbing owners during a pandemic.

Poor service & misleading. I asked for a quote & plumbers to come over, for a quote regarding installing 2x designer radiators. The job was not straight forward. I did explain this. They quoted me £200 & said it will be done in the 2hours. Once the plumber finally arrived which was 830am, he called another plumber he arrived by 930am, then they went missing for 1hr30mins, then another trip. Claiming to pick up parts. The job was as simple as putting up a tv, except they had to fit 2x straight forward pipes. By the time it was complete for that job it was 230pm. Due to their poor service, I instructed only that radiator will do. The bill came opto £600, this is due to an additional plumber, 1 did nothing!! the 2hrs they went missing, claiming to pick up materials!! I compelled them to rethink their bill, as they did only half a job, the final bill came to £450. THEY ARE UTTERLY DISHONEST!! THEY MISLEAD!!

Stay away from this company, They will charge you in advance and do absolutely nothing in their first visit. They will give you a huge second invoice for a second visit and do a very poor job. If you claim any money back, they will go nasty on you. Be safe, go somewhere else.

Fraud company. I called them for the boiler service and engineer came in and suggested that need new boiler so he is not able to do boiler serviced. Just for that suggestion, this company charge me £108. Multiple emails to Shyam Karia (Customer Service team) but no response. I called and explain all situation but not willing to refund money. I talk with Shyam and he said if you buy a new boiler and fitting with us we will deduct that charge from the quotation, which is a way too expensive.
