“I rang The Pen Company when I noticed that all Shaeffer cartridges were out of stock, both on their site and others. I spoke to a delightful man who explained the reason (Shaeffer has been sold by Cross and the brand is in flux), hence no cartridges. I asked about alternative bottled ink and was given lots of helpful advice and directed to the Diamine range which carries a wide variety of shades. I ordered two small bottles of Diamine purple ink as testers to see which best matched my Shaeffer cartridge colour. The inks arrived, beautifully packaged, the next day. I've bought from The Pen Company before and will continue to do so. Great service.”

“I bought 11 bottles of Diamine inks from them. International shipping to Austria took about a week. Low prices compared to most of their competitors, good selection (could be better). I didn't like the bad packaging - aside from a little crumpled up paper in the box that didn't even cover most ink bottles, there was nothing else protecting them. The 30ml bottles were very dusty for some reason, the 80ml glas bottles were in their thin, scuffed original boxes with squashed edges, and also dusty. Luckily, nothing was broken/spilled. The shipping pricing is extremely weird, it jumps around between ~9€ to ~29€, depending on how much you add to your basket. I would have ordered way more bottles but at a certain point you gotta pay 29€ shipping (which is quite insane, that's how much I pay for heavy furniture delivery) unless you remove items from the basket. Why would you discourage your customers to spend more money? I've never seen anything like that in an online shop. In the end, I paid almost 25€ (shipping + customs) additionally, thus barely benefitted from the low prices that initially drew me to them. Since I live in a country where bottled inks are scarce, I'll probably order from The Pen Company again but I can't say that this was the best online shopping experience I've ever had. 3.5/5 stars.”

“The Pen Company is A+ in every respect. I have shopped with The Pen Company a number of times over the years, and my appreciation for The Pen Company keeps growing with each purchase. Their dedication to serving customers with genuine care, and their passion to find the best fitting products for them (without being sales-y in any way) really shines through in each phone conversation and email communication I have with them. E.g. One time, when I was calling them to make a pre-purchase inquiry, they unilaterally offered to come back to me with some more info regarding a pen. And they (Jame) actually took the time to write me an email setting out various details - just to help the customer make a better-informed decision. A real rarity in this day and age. E.g. Another time, I noted a small quirk with an item (it was due to the hand-finished nature of the product, and nothing to do with The Pen Company). Without going into details, I'll just say that I was amazed at The Pen Company's after-sales approach. Instead of stopping at their already excellent refund/exchange policy, they went to some great lengths and spent a great deal of time to ensure that I ended up with a pen I was 100% happy with. Who does that these days, and it wasn't even some high-value item. The Pen Company and James are beyond awesome.”

“Excellent service. A pre-order email inquiry was answered promptly and in full. The same customer care was evident with first-class overnight delivery of my Caran D'Ache 849 pen. There was an added bonus in dealing with the Pen Company as there was also the choice of the pen barrel having your name engraved in a choice of fonts, at no extra cost.”

“I ordered an Athracite Graf Von Faber-Castell Guilloche Ciselé Rollerball pen and a matching mechanical pencil for my son’s 40th birthday. He is delighted with them. They look fantastic and they feel good to hold when writing or sketching. My order was dealt with promptly, engraved as requested and then despatched to me in Kuwait. I will use The Pen Company again, I may treat myself to a fountain pen.”
