“So happy with our purchase. A beautiful, strong, no noise bed - all at a reasonable price. I couldn’t find images of the silver paint option on the website but we chanced it and are happy with the result. A beautiful grey-silver that’s not too shiny.”

“Fast and efficient delivery of the king size bed I ordered. Had problems with a twisted crossbar so contacted The Original Bed Company by email. Received a reply within minutes. New crossbar quickly dispatched which solved the problem. Brilliant, prompt service. Thank you.”

“Bought two beds when moving to my new barn conversion home. An Olivia in satin white which complements the guest room perfectly. And also a Selkirk in glossy ivory with Chromo Finials and wow such a majestic bed in a traditional setting master bedroom. Both beds delivered quickly and easy to build. Neither has ever creaked or come loose, just so well made. Would certainly recommend the Original Bed Company products.”

“Really excellent service from start to finish. Communication was good. The delivery was extremely good - lovely guys. The beds themselves (Ashley Ivory king and double) are great - very sturdy and the slats are nice and robust. The slats have popped out a couple of times but are easy enough to put back in. It's fantastic that the height of the bed is adjustable. I'm really happy with my purchase.”

“The bed I received is first class, good value for money, well made and exactly what I hoped for. I, was, however, fairly disappointed with how long it took for the bed to be put together and shipped to me (two months). The communication or ETA was lacking and I was only able to find out the ETA after chasing. I would also suggest assembling the bed with someone with a good brain for building and problem solving as it's not a simple thing to put together! Overall, I was very happy with the outcome and would recommend it to others!”

Hi Harry, Many thanks for your review and glad to hear that you are pleased with the final outcome and quality of the product. In terms of the 2 month wait, 8-10 weeks is the time it takes for made to order items to be delivered. This is displayed directly above the buy it now button, as we are very careful to be open about how long an item will take. I can see the lead time of 8-10 weeks was also included on your receipt, and that the bed was indeed delivered within the quoted time. We would always recommend that customers order one of the many designs we hold in stock or that are on a shorter lead time if the advertised 8-10 weeks for made to order items is going to be too long for them. That said though, as our beds are made to last it can also be worth the extra wait for a design you really want. Best wishes, The Original Bed Company

“I previously had bought an 'Original Victorian Iron and brass bed,' many years ago, so, I do know the difference between an 'Original' and This Bed, bought from this Company'! With my old victorian bed, it took just 10 minutes to dismantle and rebuild, as the bars hooked into each other solidly. But with this bed, it takes about 2 hours to built, with its ugly silver bolts and screws showing. Nightmare! I also had my last bed painted years ago, it took a long time to scratch off paint by accident. With this bed, they use an already white painted bed frame, not even a black frame, then spray it thinly with one coat of your choice of colour and by the first night of sleeping in it, 'if' by accident, your nail hits off any of the bars, the paint comes off easier than chipping a painted nail! This bed is a broad kingsize, but ugly in appearance with its huge oversized finials and its cheap, surfaced moulded decorations. To sleep in, its fine, on odd occasion a strapping of wood comes loose under the mattress, but this bed is in no way an "Original Victorian Bed" by any means! I bought this bed On line, during Lockdown time, but there is something to be said about going into a store to actually see what you are buying. Deeply Saddened and Disappointed in this Bed and for the Company Calling it 'Original, When there is Nothing Orginal About It! Totally Misleading!”

“Bed arrived promptly and on time. The packaing was quite dirty which wasnt good as the packages needed to come through the house to get to the bedroom. Inside the dirty packaging the bed was extremely well wrapped up and protected, so no scratches and immaculate. went together slowly but straightforward. would be easier with two (but it was super kingsize). delighted with end result. no squeeks or creaks. We chose a white frame and ordered the brilliant sliding drawers for underneath. shame they came in cream as I would have thought they would have had white ones to match the bed. They are excellent though. Overall, very pleased and would buy for other rooms when we need to replace existing beds.”

“We purchased 2 beds from this company and throughout had excellent service. Jamyang who works in the Kings Road shop is an absolute gem and couldn't have been more helpful. As to the beds they were relatively easy to put together and solid, the mattresses very comfortable. The beds arrived well packed and the deliverymen were very helpful. From start to finish I would give this company a resounding ten out of ten! Jacky and Bill Mann OBE”
