“The customer service from this company is not pleasant at all. After waiting for almost 12 weeks for my 2 beds I finally rang the company. I was getting no where by email. The young gentleman was extremely rude to me. After several conversations he eventually told me the beds would be leaving their depot on Friday with a local courier to pass customs to be handed in to another courier. When I asked for his name he hung up abruptly. I would like this to be followed up as this is not acceptable. My 2 beds were expensive and so far I am very disappointed in this company as what they promise is totally different from what you receive”

Hi, Many thanks for your feedback. Looking at your order, I can see this is going to Ireland, and having spoken to the relevant person you were looking to be given an exact delivery day. Unfortunately fore Ireland, due to the bed needing to travel through different warehouses and across the water, we are unable to give an exact day that the bed will arrive, only the date it will leaves us. It usually takes a week to ten days to get to Ireland from our UK warehouse and you will be kept up to date by our courier once they have them. Apologies if this was not explained clearly and in a polite manner over the phone. This has been fed back to the relevant person. I'm sure you will be very happy with your beds when they arrive. “This is a great bed. It was delivered exactly when promised. It was easy to put together. The mattress (wool) is warm and comfortable. It perfectly suits the style of our house. Why have I waited so long to have one?”

“The bed arrived earlier than I expected and was so well packaged and I was kept informed when delivery would be. The young lads who delivered it carried all the heavy boxes upstairs to the bedroom. All parts were there. I was able to put the bed together myself and I'm an older woman. Don't ask me how I did it but I had no one to help me at the time and I was determined to do it. I had been looking for a sturdy Victorian looking bed without those horrible centre supports and the original bed company offered the best value for money I could find for what I could afford. The bed frame feels very sturdy and should last me. I didn't buy a mattress from OBC (although I would have loved to as they looked good quality) as it would have been too expensive for me even with the £100 discount for buying bed and mattress together as it would have cost me an extra £100 to deliver the mattress on top of the £100 for the bed to be delivered to Northern Ireland. I sourced a new cheaper mattress locally to offset the delivery fee. I have one complaint that I haven't contacted OBC about and that is the rods at the bed ends wouldn't catch the thread in the brass rail. So I have kept them aside to try and get them to screw in when I have help to lift the bed because it was too much of an effort for me to try and look at it properly myself. I don't think that this would affect the sturdiness of the bed though. Yes I love my new bed and have had lots of compliments on it 😊”

“I was very pleasantly surprised at the sheer quality of our bed; the build and materials. For the price this definitely exceeded expectations. On top of that the matress is exceptionally comfortable, and the bed looks just fabulous! Highly recommended.”

“What a wonder lovely bed. We bought the Olivia king size bed frame in black. Great that you can have the option to choose the height for the mattress. Easy to put up once you realise that the nuts and bolts are already screwed into the frame. ( we did not read the instructions clearly). Very happy with the purchase and definitely recommend The Original Bed Company.”

“The delivery company were great (I'd been worried about the narrow road), and the parts of the bed were brilliantly wrapped to protect from damage. All the parts were there and nothing was damaged. I could never have assembled it myself, but my youngest son did it single-handedly. There was only one part that was really difficult to put together (it wasn't possible to see what the screw was supposed to be locking in to) but my son managed it in the end. I am really pleased with the final result: the bed frame is sturdy but very elegant. I also bought a firm mattress which is less firm than I thought it would be, but still comfortable.”

“I would have liked to have given 5 stars but there were definitely some issues. I will start by saying that I love the bed and the mattress. The mattress is exceptionally comfortable. The issues: When I went to the store they told me I could have the mattress delivered right away, since they were generally in stock and I would only need to wait for the frame. NOT true and I wound up having to sleep on the floor of my new flat for two weeks. The mattress and bed frame came together. I purchased a double and was able to assemble myself, it is not too difficult. The frame had a small chip on it. I contacted the company to ask for a small sample to repair it with and have not received a response. I have an ivory colored frame so the chip is rather noticeable. Luckily the end of my bed cover hides the chip. Taking away 2 stars for poor customer service.”

Hi Cristina, Many thanks for your review and we're pleased to hear that you are happy with the products themselves. I can see that you ordered your bed and mattress online where we send a confirmation stating that all items will be delivered together unless requested to be sent separately. The main reason for this is that 99% of the time customer's prefer this. As stated in the confirmation, we can send items separately if requested, but I can see no request for this. Sorry you had to sleep on the floor, we would have been more than happy to send your mattress first, without the bed. We just need instruction that this is what the customer wants. I can also see your request for touch up paint from a month ago, as well as confirmation it was being sent. We will get some more sent out today. Best wishes, The Original Bed Co.

“Having had the most comfortable nights sleep in an Air BB. I photographed the label of the mattress and looked up on the computer and ordered one. I have no regrets and am absolutely delighted with the mattress and the first class service I received from the company. Thank you for the great service”

“Brought my Hamilton bed frame and Juno mattress in October, as my previous bed had become so uncomfortable. Bed delivered and assembled by David. Very professional, respectful and friendly. It was a quick delivery. The whole process from order to deliver went smoothly. The staff were friendly and very helpful with any questions I had and reassuring. My mattress is very comfortable. No more tossing and turning at night. I would definitely recommend this company.”
