“I needed railway sleepers for a second set of raised beds. I had previously bought sleepers from another company (UK Sleepers, but they have lots of different sites). I chose Luxury Wood because they had untreated oak sleepers in the size I wanted and the prices were good. Plus transport was significantly cheaper than competitors. Size options were limited, but I was happy to cut them down to size myself. Delivery took 18 days and Luxury Wood were helpful in arranging this and the delivery arrived well packed. Wood quality is generally good - majority of the 240/20/10 sleepers are straight and have minimal flaws. 2 out of 32 of the sleepers are in my opinion B grade with large long splits that extend a long way down the sleeper - I'm disappointed that these were sent and even more so that they were hidden in the middle of the pallets. This is especially so as before the delivery was dispatched I emailed asking for confirmation that all the sleepers would be Landscape grade as only B grade were showing on their website at the time. There are a few more sleepers with smaller, end splits but that is to be expected. Thus overall the quality of sleeper from the previous supplier was better, but Luxury Wood were cheaper. However I now need to source at least one and potentially two sleepers to replace the sub-standard ones.”

“Whilst the ash logs from Luxury Wood Company are an excellent product the distribution company used in my area to deliver the pallet was not of the standard I have had before. I had asked for the pallet to be delivered on a motorised pallet trolley. They turned up without one and couldn't get the pallet up my drive. I asked them to take the logs back and come back again with the motorised trolley I had asked for which they did but I had to raise the problem with Luxury Wood Company who contacted the distributor to sort it out. So all in all not a good experience.”

“I bought nine 2.4m x100x200mm (8x4”) for a raised bed. Delivery was good, if a bit early 06:50 - fortunately we were the second delivery of the day! The wood was pretty much as expected - landscape grade - basically it’s the center of the tree that’s no use for furniture timber. Most sleepers included the pith which is why the wood is so prone to splitting. But this wood is much better than some I’ve seen - only one sleeper was really bad, with a split right through from side to side stretching over nearly a third of the sleeper. Overall, though I was satisfied with the timber. The price was ale good, with some big name diy outlets selling soft wood for similar, if not higher prices. Also be was of L Oak on eBay, I nearly bought some and the L stands for “like oak” Sounds a bit of a con to me. One final point, the machining off the oak was very good, with pretty square edges and no twisting along the length and none of the deep bandsaw gouges you see in some timber. Would use again.”

“Apart from the fact that there wasn't much communication with reference to the delivery, we received a phone call to say delivery was going to be next day then an hour later it turned up at 7pm, a day early, the driver was very pleasant & the quality of timber is good”

“I ordered 16 oak sleepers for a mix of furniture and garden border sleepers. I received a mix of red and white oak. Sizes were a little rough and some not that square. Some of these were good enough for furniture and some were only suitable for sleepers so a mixed bag. The price for the sleepers was very good though. Delivery was a bit haphazard and took around 2 to 3 weeks after the order. Would I use this company again, Yes.”

“As always high quality wood. However this time we received no warning of arrival day and only by good fortune we were in to take delivery with call about 20 mins beforehand. Other than this very happy.”

“Very happy with logs, have had at least 5 large crates, ash, oak and birch. The delivery tracking information is sometimes a bit hit and miss but am very happy with the actual delivery, drivers always helpful”

“Overall happy. The oak was very nice and a great price. Some picky points: the oak arrived with some black marks and slight banding marks. The delivery was not made by hiab crane as instructed on the website although this was still fine, lastly we were phoned in the week a few days before delivery to be told we would get the delivery on Saturday and would be given a time slot closer to the time. However we waited in the whole day with no warning and then when all hope was lost at around 5pm the truck arrived outside. I was later told this was because the business is close diver the weekend, so bear that in mind that you won't receive a delivery time slot over the weekend. But that's being picky, overall very good!”
