My experience with the chap that actually did the shipment was very good, however my experience with Shiply itself was poor. My first attempt to accept a quote was thwarted by an anomaly within Shiply that meant I could not pay with Paypal. Shiply failed to help with that, so that particular shipper lost that deal as I went for a different one which worked OK. When one can't communicate with a shipper until accepting a quote and yet the online system will not enable one to accept a quote; this is a dead end... The help was no help but encouraged me to ask them if I had any further queries, clearly a standard, if not automated, response, which I found utterly useless and in fact disingenuous. Have you blighters never heard of BETA testing?! Always easier to let the client do the BETA testing, easier for you that is, not the client...

Got a good price, but not overly impressed with the £50 fee being touted as a 'deposit'. The fee also added an extra 25% to the total cost which is excessive.

Two men turned up and did the job diligently, politely and effiiently. However, communication was not great and I was unsure of the arrival an delivery times. there was also an apparent attempt to increase the quoted price albeit marginally: we did not pay the increase. The bed was delivered in good condition so no real complaint.

Would get five out of five stars but got charged the deposit twice for the second time. Come on Shiply sort it out. Courier was excellent.

The delivery didnt happen and I paid a deposit. I found that the information on the site wasnt very helpful in regards to what happens when a delivery doesnt go through due to the delivery person not being able to complete it as the date we originally had planned for, changed, due to the company we were dealing with. I paid the deposit and received no service so not really that happy with this although the delivery person was very pleasant he was unable to refund the deposit as it is paid directly to Shiply and he received none of it.

After making pament 23/5/14 I had no contact with the colle tors until I made several phone calls etc. Eventually I was emailed by Shipley that pickup would be on 2 June. No one arrived. After leaving messages I received a phone call to say pickup would be 3rd at 1000. Eventually pickup up parcels at approx 1400. The two young men were very poilite and helpful. I just think that Shipley and the courrier do not seem to be on same page. Julia Morgan

I paid a deposit quickly by Paypal .This deposit Shiply said was going to the Transporter !!!! That was a downrighjt

The transporter was first class and profesdsional in every way . Davereestransport. What I did find very misleading was Shiplys reply after I paid a deposit which shiply said was paid to. the Transporter but was in fact Shipllys. Commission .I found this very distasteful and got me on the wrong footing with my transporter who said I had not actually paid his deposit . (This was my first time using this system) In future I may not use. Shiply but find another provider . Pity they're so greedy to get their money up front for minimal machine generated effort I'd call them" Greedly." I see a lot of similar complaints on the money Saving forum. Ryan Air got it wrong . Better listen to the public before it all goes up in the air. The basic operating idea is good .

I really do NOT appreciate the language of this site when it is felt (wrongly) that my comms to the courier were attempting to deal off line. This is accusatory and NOT on. Otherwise all is OK.

The Normal rating is for the site but a Very Good rating if I can give one is for the carrier I used, He was very Polite, Prompt and Friendly and I may use him again if reqd. However, it was I who contacted him for a price because it seemed as if I wasn't going to get any bites from the listing and would have had to go get it myself. The price I paid was the same as hiring a van and the fuel minus my time . There is a limited time after buying an item on ebay that sellers will stand the dawdling around waiting for you to pay and collect. The waiting time seems excessive to get quotes and In future I may look for quotes before the listing ends but even this, as I've seen, tends also to keep the quotes away on the whole would you agree? It seems a bit of a lottery. I have also noticed most of the 'traffic' is in the South with a lower proportion of business in the North. It may just be down to me being new and don't know how to navigate or use this site correctly,but it seems a little basic on the face of it. As regards satisfaction with this site, overall I think it is an interesting concept and I think some of the smaller 3.5t hauliers are making more than the larger Pro's running full sized trucks and I am studying whether to get in on this action myself.

it's a good sight that works well however, they take ~20% so pushes quotes right up and the phone line help does not work. having said that the email support is good.
