I was on the shipping end of a booked courier delivery. The company was easy to communicate with prior to the day of collection. They sent a time window of 3 hours to me, which I confirmed ahead of time, as requested. On the day, I received a tracking notice which stated their ETA was outside of this window by half an hour (early). This didn’t work for me as I had prior commitments, so I contacted them and the company assured me they would let the driver know. 80 minutes before my time window I received a phone call from the driver stating he was 5 minutes away. When I reiterated that I was not at the property and would not be back for half an hour, he questioned me as to my whereabouts and why I was not home after confirming I would be. I again stated that I would be free within the time window they had given, and actually I would be home in around ten minutes time if they wished to wait, or they could go elsewhere and come back within the time window. Then, on my journey home, I received yet another phone call, this time from the company, again asking where I was, and when I confirmed yet again the time window, I was told I was incorrect and the time was wrong, despite having email confirmation of this. Eventually they agreed I was correct and that they would arrive at the correct time. They came back half an hour later (still over 30 minutes earlier than the time window) and I was at the property so they collected the item and left. They were respectful of my property and took photos of the item, so I can’t fault this part of the service. I doubt I would use this courier myself as it cause me undue stress as I was panicked about needing to rush home because I didn’t want to keep the driver waiting, despite them being early and that not being my fault.

The reason I'm giving the rating that I'm giving is because I told them how many people it would take to move my item and he brought less than that causing me to call other people to help. In the interim, they (the company) broke my table however, I didn't file a claim because it's still usable and they fixed it. Other than that, they were good, punctual and you can tell they were very hard workers. Will I recommed them, yes I would.

Let down 3 times by delivery drivers promised a Saturday delivery never turned up, received email to say delivering Wednesday but I was at work , luckily my neighbour looked out for them as this was a very large 4 seater corner sofa I was not impressed

NOT 'SEAMLESS' ... Ultimately a great service where I found an excellent broker who arranged shipment with excellent local shipper ... but some prickly issues; was able to work around: 1. Bank had marked shipley as a scam simply because they collect funds in europe, not USA. So that took time to work out with bank. 2. some links go to dead pages. 3. customer service is very slow or non-existent. When a customer comes to a shipping broker it is because they are ready to ship something. But when the broker's only point of contact is a web form, and it tells you someone will respond within a few days...not good. I worked around these issues with personal effort.

It was pretty difficult to describe my cargo because every time I used numbers to describe 4x5 bales weighing about 950 pounds each the site would not allow me to send this information, saying it looked like I was trying to negotiate the price. It then discards the email. There were no instructions indicating what the problem was. Eventually, a bidder that I was having trouble communicating with, told me about the numbers rule. My first attempt had bobtail cargo trailers responding with ridiculously cheap bids. I thought everyone knew what a hay bale was, but apparently not so much. Rewriting the email to say four by five bales of hay weighing approximately nine hundred and fifty pounds, having a five-foot diameter and a four-foot width making a loadout of two rows of ten and two rows of nine to total thirty-eight bales requiring a fifty-three foot flat eight feet wide and a cargo capacity of forty thousand pounds with a height of nine feet above the deck finally got the point across but communicating without being able to use numbers was a tedious process on a smartphone.

The company I used company name was different from what was on my invoice. This made me very uneasy and I almost didn't use the company due to that. They were an hr late so I called the wrong company and they had words to say about them too. In the end the item which was priceless to me got to the other place which was far away so it all worked out but if they are told to use another company name by yourselves make sure its not someone else's company name.

I'm still trying to work out if I've been scammed by SHIPLY or if this is a a terrible company. Paid a deposit to the company but the driver did not turn up. Shiply will not now refund the deposit. THE DEPOSIT WAS PAID TO SHIPLY. I would completely avoid this company, it has cost me a lot of money.

Have used Shipley on a fairly regular basis with mixed results. Sometimes goes without a hitch and I keep contact details for those transport providers to use for future trips. The bad ones, when it happens make my life difficult and on balance try and avoid using those providers. Little help from Shipley who hide behind being a portal to link customer and courier without having any responsibility for anything that may happen. My advice is use it only if your regular couriers can’t help.

Shiply are great, as brokers (or a “neutral venue” as they prefer to refer to themselves) and they certainly put you in contact with a lot of transport providers. However, when something goes wrong they very much distance themselves from the whole situation. In effect, they offer no form of mediation and will not even make contact with the carrier to try to resolve. Whilst they legitimately stand behind their “neutral venue” terms and conditions, they seem not to be able to understand the reputational damage this does to their brand. I absolutely accept that they are not a carrier and are not going to jump in a van and go sort the issue out. Nor would I expect any form of compensation directly from them, but a little assistance, beyond a series of cut and paste emails telling you why they can’t help, would not be too much for them to offer.
