I was on the shipping end of a booked courier delivery. The company was easy to communicate with prior to the day of collection. They sent a time window of 3 hours to me, which I confirmed ahead of time, as requested. On the day, I received a tracking notice which stated their ETA was outside of this window by half an hour (early). This didn’t work for me as I had prior commitments, so I contacted them and the company assured me they would let the driver know. 80 minutes before my time window I received a phone call from the driver stating he was 5 minutes away. When I reiterated that I was not at the property and would not be back for half an hour, he questioned me as to my whereabouts and why I was not home after confirming I would be. I again stated that I would be free within the time window they had given, and actually I would be home in around ten minutes time if they wished to wait, or they could go elsewhere and come back within the time window. Then, on my journey home, I received yet another phone call, this time from the company, again asking where I was, and when I confirmed yet again the time window, I was told I was incorrect and the time was wrong, despite having email confirmation of this. Eventually they agreed I was correct and that they would arrive at the correct time. They came back half an hour later (still over 30 minutes earlier than the time window) and I was at the property so they collected the item and left. They were respectful of my property and took photos of the item, so I can’t fault this part of the service. I doubt I would use this courier myself as it cause me undue stress as I was panicked about needing to rush home because I didn’t want to keep the driver waiting, despite them being early and that not being my fault.
