We spent time and money for a designer to come out and sell us a wall to wall wardrobe; he came rather over friendly and spent 3 hours on a late Sunday evening, measuring the bedroom and then drew a design with all the shelving units we dreamt off. We paid a down payment of £1,100 up front. Their own surveyor came on another day afterwards and within 5 mins condemned the designers drawings and our dreams. Do not take what Sharps designers say as now we are still shipping around when in fact we should have already had our dream wardrobes... Utterly unprofessional company.

Disaster from start to finish but they are more than happy to take your money. I would not recommend to anyone and as for their TV ad - it's completely false.

Have had wardrobes fitted by sharps in my bedroom for 6weeks yet I'm still waiting to use them. Original installation workmanship was rediculously poor. He came into the property with muddy boots on a brand new grey carpet which he replied 'sorry about that it should come out if you clean it'. Then following the poor install we had an engineer come out to see the install and if any materials were needed to make it right. We then arranged for the following weekend for delivery and install. The following weekend came fitter was there for 8am had a look over the wardrobes and confirmed the previous fitter didn't know what he was doing and that he had been to 2 of his previous jobs to put his work right. In the meantime the materials still hadn't arrived and so the fitter was ringing around to find out what time they was due in but was mad harder as sharps office staff do not work on the weekends. He got in touch with the driver and said he was leaving the factory at 9am and that my address was the 4th drop off, this was mismanagement of the office staff, which he then said he doubted the driver would be on site before 12 so he left. The following week we had another fitter booked in for the Saturday, however they then called to cancel on Friday as the fitter had overrun an install he already started. We then started losing patients and all confidence In sharps and wasn't helped atall by the arrogance of the office staff who did not return phone calls. They then organised the so called "best fitter" they have to offer for the following weekend, he then turned up promptly at 8am to see the poor quality of work and called it a "dogs dinner" he then advised that the materials they sent was not enough to make good of the poor work and suggested that the works be ripped out and started again. The office then called and said that the case was going to be passed on the one of the managers and that they have marked the case as ergent and that I would be hearing from the manager within 72hours to arrange a visit. I've been waiting since Monday to hear from the management but no calls have been recieved. Embarrassing from start to finish would not recommend this company in the slightest. Overpriced, underperformed, unprofessional and poor on all fronts. Champagne prices lemonade service. Please don't make the same mistake we made by paying £4600 six weeks ago and still have nowhere to store our clothes

Absolutely shocking service from a company that prides themselves on being one of the best out there. We did not receive what we originally agreed. Took over a month for the job to be completed as they kept sending wrong materials and the materials we did receive weren't cut to the correct size. The finishing result is really poor. Customer service is terrible. No compensation given!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE NOT AS GOOD AS THEY SAY THEY ARE - VERY OVER PRICED!!!

The actual product is fine but the customer service is worst than useless. Rude, no responsive and the staff themselves do not seem to have a clue what they are doing. No response to phone calls and when they do call back they are unhelpful. Would never ever use them again.

A company like this can't be allowed to exist. Read this review and do not provide them your business. The designer, Ben, was very professional and friendly. He provided a great service and if only the company was as good as him, then their "customer service" would be of some good - but it isn't!! The surveyor who then came along next was a reasonable guy, nothing spectacular. He expected me to pay for his parking, or to look after his van, to avoid parking tickets - I work in a professional environment where I pay for my parking and my company reimburses me - why do Sharps' customers have to pay for their staff parking when we pay £1000s for their goods & "services". I would pay for the small one man band, but not for the company that has £Millions in profits each year. Then the delivery - on time, well delivered, though they asked for help. Out of common courtesy we helped them. Nothing special. Nothing to moan about. The fitter "service" - The original fitter was cancelled, the day before the installation at 3pm. I had booked annual leave to be around for this for the two days, and unfortunately, due to the short notice, I was unable to cancel my leave - effectively money lost for me. The replacement fitter was then rescheduled for 3 days later, which was a relief. But then this was moved forward by a day, at around 3pm again, the day before. You would ordinarily think that this is great, but it is very inconvenient. I had to organise someone to be there in my place to let them in - money lost for the individual in effect. The fitter came along on time (finally a positive), again asking for parking to be paid for him (negative again) only to look for the plans which were never sent along with the delivery - looked around frantically. The fitter tells me that he "will do the best he can but will be working blindly" - Am I paying £000s for a halfwit service?!?! I call Sharps "Customer Service", who tell me that every fitter is provided the plans by email separately - in my case the halfwit left his iPad at home - How is that my problem?!?!?! They ask ME to print and provide the fitter the plans as he doesn't have the means. Shocking. I tell them to send it to him and he can print it out at a local internet cafe. It is a service I am paying for and they are failing to provide. Final bit of idiocracy - the designer and one of the telephone operators informed me that the final installment is payable AFTER the installation and I've had a chance to view their work. - I get a letter in the post before the installation demanding final payment!!!!!

Avoid at ALL COSTS! This company is a COMPLETE joke!! I don’t see how a company like this can exist in this day and age with global social media and twitter. Please please please, read this review that’s if you don’t want to waste your time and money, getting ripped off! I paid several thousands of £££’s for a wardrobe. I knew I was paying over the top, but the impression I first got from Sharps led me to feel I would get my money’s worth. I was wrong. Big time, and did I pay for it. I did exactly the same as you now, reading reviews. I did my research into the firm, read reviews and then made my decision. A wrong decision in the end. Where I went wrong was thinking the negative reviews posted about Sharps would never happen to me. And they sure did. This leads me to think there are numerous of people that end up where I did. Just read around about Sharps reviews and you will see a common trait. So where did it all go wrong? To start with, numerous of cancelled appointments, I was assured (even GUARANTEED), that Sharps would visit my property on 3 occasions, so I took these days off work. I was only told in the afternoons of the visit day that Sharps would be re-scheduling to another day!! On top of the cancellations, there is poor craftsmanship, lack of customer service, in fact the company would do better not even having a useless uncaring customer service. Let me warn you, after paying your 25% deposit, then 65% prior to delivery of materials, then 10% on completion, for the time being as long as you dangle the carrot in front of Sharps, they will be super nice to you for their commission. But once you transfer every single £ across, good luck even if they call you back with regards to any issues you may have!!! This is a two-faced money grabbing pathetic company!! They have no interest in your wardrobe, or even the service you receive, they are fully focused on the bottom line, being ruthless to squeeze every penny and then once that is achieved, they will treat you with zero respect / aknowledgement despite shelling out £5-6k for a wardrobe Sharps will tease customers with the 50% discount offer and then a further 20% off. This sounds like a bargain, right?? Wrong. This discount is on the materials only. Not labour. Surprise surprise, commodity prices are at a cyclical low, therefore minimal cost for firms. So therefore why not entice customers with huge advertising campaigns knocking off discounts off the cheapest cost. You know the marketing gimics, kind of like buy 3 and get the cheapest free. But at this scale of wardrobe cost, it’s more like buy 10 and get the cheapest free. I only found this out when writing my initial check to them. Sharps has poor workmanship. The edges of my wardrobe were not even straight. I think the installer must have brought his pet mouse on this job to help out gnawing the side panels to size. On top of this, having asked the designer and planner for equally space shelves, these measurements were checked, re-measured and checked again. But surprise surprise, Sharps still managed to mess up the measurements…great!!! Something sooooo fundamentally basic that a 5 year kid can get right! Anyways, to sum up. If you like paying over the top for below standard work, poor customer service, dealing with a money grabbing firm that doesn’t care about its clients after receiving every penny, poor craftsmanship, cancelled appointments, wasting time on the phone to Sharps, then please be my guest and go with Sharps. But dont say I didn’t warn you! You will be back on this review in a few weeks/months doing exactly the same as me! ? If I can give my 2 pence worth, as a suggestion, go with one of the other big brands i.e Hammonds or furniture village, I have used these in the past and the service is on another level, several levels higher..much much better!!!

The work was delayed for 7 weeks, with various reasons given. This included the roof being higher than expected. However both a designer and surveyor being at the property before hand. There was no flexibility or increase in speed to get a date. The service was poor, inflexible and I would never request their service again. When we finally find someone efficient the job was done well, although the stress and massive delay negates this. Hideous experience!

Me and my partner visited one of there showrooms many months ago. We had recently had an offer accepted on a new home and was excited because our new bedroom has a very nice rectangular shape space which we thought would be great for a nice fitted walk in wardrobe. So we went into sharps the lady was very nice and told us how good there company was at making the perfect wardrobes in any space and told us once we have moved in to ring them up and they would send a designer out. So 3 weeks ago we had the designer come out to see what they could do. Me and my partner had an idea in mind what we wanted. But the designer said it would not be possible to make that. My partner couldn't understand why it couldn't be made and kept asking why not but the bloke did give a proper answer. So he came up with a new design which we both really liked. The bloke was very nice and he told us how he used to work for them as a carpenter for many years. So he knew what he was talking about and what could be fitted. The actual design is a very simple design, and for a company like sharps who boast about how clever they are at finding extra space and storage for you it was a very straight forward design. So next stage was for the surveyor to come round. He took one look at the designers plans and said "we can't make that you will need a re design". My partner said well actually we did want it like this we wanted it like etc and she told him and the surveyor said "yes we can build it like that but you will need the designer back out to re draw it". So feeling a bit annoyed we let it slip over our heads because we still wanted them to make us our wardrobes. So they booked in a time slot with us for a designer to come back out but also a surveyor to come at the same time so it could happen all quickly. We was chuffed that they was willing to do that. So come the next appointment a different surveyor turns up but no designer. He comes in looks at the designs and my partner tells him how we was told how that design is no good and we can in fact have a wardrobe designed how we originally liked it to be. He said "oh well that means a re design which I can't to do and you need a designer to do that". Taken back by that comment I then said well a designer is meant to be here today!! To which he turned around and just said "oh he couldn't make it" and didn't give us a reason why. The surveyor then said to us why can't you have this design he's already done for you. To which we replied one of your surveyors told us we couldn't have it!!! So he then says "no no it's possible definitely possible don't worry if you still want this I can make it fit and measure it". We did like the design and we didn't want to have to wait again for another designer to come out again so we said yes that's fine the. The surveyor was a very nice bloke spent several hours measuring it all out and thoroughly going through it with us to make sure we was happy to which we was. 2 days later we get phone call to say next week you need to empty your room to make way for all the furniture and then someone will be there 3 days later to fit it. Great we was extremely happy and very excited. We made arrangements to stay at my parents as we would have no bedroom. My partner organised some different shifts at work for the deliveries and to let the workers in the house. Also my parents stocked up on food for us to stay. 4 days before it was meant to be delivered we get a miss call from sharps saying "we're sending a designer and surveyor out to you again next week your design won't work it can't be done". Fuming at this point because considering there a bespoke wardrobe fitters I really couldn't understand why they couldn't make this simple design!! So I rang up customers service to ask to speak to someone to find out why it can't be done! They would not give me a reason and said there's no one you can speak to and you will need to wait until the designer and surveyor come back out, also this means you won't be having your wardrobe fitted next week and and will most likely be in 3 weeks time now". I came of the phone and thought enough is enough now. They obviously are not a bespoke wardrobe fitter! They obviously can't make what you want like they say they can! Also we now have to scrap our plans which my parents had gone out there way to help. My partner had moved her work shifts for no reason. So I decided to ring up and cancel the lot! I ring up and say I want to cancel. The lady who answers was not bothered about finding our why, did not bother trying to convince me to not cancel, she just put me straight through to the accounts department and with in a couple of mins it was cancelled a little apology from the accounts department and that was that. So I thought until today 4 days later my partner who is at work is getting a constant ringing from sharps. She answered it when she had time to find out a designer was standing outside our house ringing our door bell and no doubt upsetting our dog making her bark and annoying the neighbours. My partner said to the designer we have cancelled it to which he replied oh I wasn't told that. So my partner who is at work rung up sharps to find out why was he not told ! There reply "well the order hasn't been cancelled?" SERIOUSLY how bad is this company. They are a disgrace! Please do not use them! The hole company seems to be useless!! We was so excited and all they have done is let us down over and over again. Not giving us any reasons for not turning up and not being able to make what we want. Just real lack of customer care! Please please avoid!!

The only good experience we had was with our fitter who was excellent given the problems he had. One of our doors did not fit and he requested another one. We were told this would arrive and be fitted 2 days later. After many irate telephone calls to Customer services (who only returned 1 of our calls) another door was eventually sent. A different fitter called 3 times on the same day to fit the new door. At 8pm he said he couldn't do anymore and would contact Sharps. After more irate phone calls our original fitter rang and came out of his way to rectify the situation, which he did very quickly! Customer care was non existent and we would never use Sharps again.

Had our wardrobes fitted 4 weeks when we called sharps because one of the sliding doors were catching. I was told I would have to wait up to 28 days for a fitter to come and look at them and if he thought it was not faulty workmanship but wear and tear I would be charged £75.And if the fitter then damaged them they could not be held responsible. Wear and tear after 4 weeks I don't think so sharps. What about my 12 year guarantee. Rubbish after sales and I will be writing to trading standards and watch dog because I am so disgusted. My advice is stay clear of Sharps.

Poor Poor Poor can not trust what they say to you; no customer service they do what they want when they want and make you out to be a liar. Units have to be put in a certain place whether it suits the customer or not. Very disappointed with the way they treat customers - more people should complain.

Sharps allegedly provides 'bespoke' furniture. You can take 'bespoke' as in 'what is standard available'. what you would like to have tailormade to your situation, they do not make the extra effort to make available. But the price you pay, is the price for tailormade. Aside from that, they delivered all panels (not even all the right ones) and material but didn't bother to come and fit it for another 13 days. If only they were as aggressive in getting the job done as in getting your money, things might improve. Absolutely never again!

I am absolutely disappointed with the overall level of service and workmanship that I have received from sharps. My life was totally disrupted for over 11 weeks for a job which was promised to be completed in 3 days. The fitter put in damaged panels knowingly, joins on view although there was more then enough panels over so as no joins would be visible, in fact I have enough panels to fit another bedroom . 3 times further panels were sent, one was worse than the first. Untruths were told by staff which resulted in delays. I had saved long and hard for something that I was expecting, a perfect bedroom, how wrong. This experience has taken any joy that I was looking for. If you are prepared to have your house disrupted go for for sharps. I felt short changed. Over 2 days I spoke to 9 different people to explain my problems with no outcome as all on courses. !!!,, On eventual completion a demand for settlement was expected. Although I explained I had to go to the bank, even on a Sunday lunchtime money was called for. Some people have no respect for a day of sabbath. I felt harassed . Just 1 day on completion money was demanded the fact it was a Sunday the company had no respect. Even though I was expected to wait 11 weeks

Having had a small windfall, the wife talked me into getting new fitted wardrobes. Initially all went ok. The salesperson was pleasant, talking up the quality of product and service, and had some ideas for design etc. Agreed a price and booked a day for them to start. They insisted the bedroom was completely cleared, so spent ages moving furniture, clothes and a large bed out the afternoon before. 5pm we got a call saying fitter can't come tomorrow cos he's overrunning by 2 days. Why he suddenly found this out at 5pm we're not sure, but Sharps said they'd try and get someone asap, possibly at the weekend. We ended up sleeping on floors and sofas for 6 days, until a fitter appeared, unannounced, one lunch time (only by luck I was in). Totally disorganised service which left us angry, tired and fed up with the whole company. And for the price, not top quality, only MDF. And they even left the drive full of rubbish 'cos they don't take rubbish away'. Took me 2 trips to the dump in a large hatch back, seats down.

We're part way through our dealings with Sharps bedrooms and already it is poor. The sales advisor on your first appointment speaks about the excellent customer service and reputation of the company - maybe a few years ago but certainly not now! We were given an install date, cleared two bedrooms so we have our things all over the place in disarray to keep these two rooms clear. Due to start fitting on a Monday, we've rearranged our whole week of work around this, the flat packs arrive Friday, our money is taken and then get a call only a couple of hours later saying fitting won't start Monday and they don't know when! We've chased (note: WE'VE chased, there has been zero customer service) our initial sales person and the depot, been given no real service, no alternate dates and promised return calls do not transpire. I'm very unimpressed, wish we'd just gone to IKEA and used a local fitter.....

Recently we installed a wardrobe in our bedroom with two exterior lights and we wanted to swap the the bulbs for a different colour. However, after phoning the company we were rudely rebuked and we did not receive any other information to help us. Therefore we would like to warn other customers that after you hand over the money they will not care about you any longer.
