Insanely expensive compared to going direct to the garage (they charged me £493 for a service on a 2 year old hatchback, should have been about £180), and they'll take your car away, not tell you where it is, and refuse to give it back until you've paid. They also don't reply to emails and no-one answers their phones - I had no car overnight, and the only contact from Servicing Stop was automated text messages telling me to pay for work I had repeatedly emailed asking them not to carry out. Stay away from this company! I have a case open with Trading Standards, if you've had a similar experience with Servicing Stop please contact me. (BewareServicingStop dot co dot uk)

Update to previous post - the airbag and tyre pressure light came on when I started my car this morning (returned last night). Chased this up with online support and contacted my usual local garage. I was informed that my car had not been retested, after initially paying for them to investigate the airbag light on my car. No one had informed me of this / didn't offer to carry out further repairs / MOT retest. If I had not queried this then I would've been none the wiser and driving around without an MOT and therefore invalid insurance. So what I can gather is, I have been astronomically overcharged for basic work, which has been carried out to bare-minimum standards, if at all. My car was returned having failed the MOT, it was not retested and I was not informed of this, yet charged for work to be carried out. I have now rebooked into my local garage and will have to pay for a new MOT and any work that has been missed / not completed. Queried it with online support and when the conversation became difficult (ie. I wanted compensating for the £500+ that I had paid), I was ignored. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and annoyed at myself for not doing my research. Don't waste your money - you won't be helped, they don't care and undertake questionable work.

I was told if I paid in advance for an MOT and Service it would cost me £56, sounded too good to be true. The garage called me and told me I’d need £1000 work done I refused and said fail the MOT and drop my car back. I will get it done elsewhere and get a second opinion. I then got another bill saying I had to pay an additional £54 with an invoice that said I was paying for services that I had already paid for. I have been on the phone trying to find out where my car is, what garage it is at. No response and have been on the phone for 40minutes with no way to contact either. Where is my car? Tempted to call the police to locate my car as stolen. The most stressful, useless, money grabbing company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I wouldn’t even tell my worst enemy to use them.

Thought this was an excellent idea and really helpful, as my usual garage couldn’t fit me in. The car was promptly collected at 9am on Friday - the driver was very pleasant. No contact from anybody all day, by 5pm I tried to call customer services a number of times, but the number was constantly engaged and online assistance was shut. At 7.15pm I received two texts that stated that they had tried to contact me (no phone calls appeared on my phone and no v/mails left). I accepted that this may have been my issue, so had to accept that my car would not be returned that evening. Customer services shut on Saturday and Sunday, so contacted the garage, who were unable to give me any info, as they were running the office from home. Again, no fault of theirs, so had to accept that I wouldn’t have a car all weekend. I tried contacting the number that was texted to me at 9am today (Monday), constantly busy. Managed to speak to an advisor online who said they would ask someone to call me. Had to chase again an hour and a half later. Finally spoke to someone at approx. Midday. I was quoted approx. £1300.00 for the work to be done on my car - I agreed for it to happen as was advised that it was a ‘must’. When the invoice was sent to me, everything on it was advisory (except for the air bag fault light) this was not fed back to me clearly in the phone conversation. I promptly cancelled front / rear brake discs and pads, and agreed for additional work to be carried out at a cost of £400 - which appeared very high for the work that was done. At this point I’d had enough and just paid it, because I wanted my car back. I was charged an environmental surcharge (unsure what this is, as invoice was emailed to me) and for washer fluid (which was filled to the brim the night before the car was collected). Again, had had enough and couldn’t be bothered to contest this. No contact again on whether the car would be returned, so had to contact online help and was advised that my car would ‘definitely’ be returned this evening. Finally at 7.10pm my car arrived. The driver dropping it off was, again, very pleasant and apologetic. I am just thankful to have my car back. This has been unnecessarily stressful and I don’t feel that there is much thought to communication, customer service or transparency - I don’t mind paying for necessary work, however quoting me over £1000 (in addition to the MOT and service cost) on unnecessary work is abhorrent. I already feel that I have been ripped off for the advisory work that I did agree to have done, however I can imagine that there are far more vulnerable people who have come off a lot worse. I am grateful to have my car back, but I will never be using this service again or recommending it to anyone.

While my 18month old car was with them I had a call telling me of hundreds of pounds extra work needed, I said no, but I was told that one item, at £122 was needed or they wouldn't be able to stamp my service book. Regardless of whether the work needs doing or not, the QA on their website says.. Will my book get stamped, Yes after your service it will be stamped. It does not say, after your service.. And any additional works we demand.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Apsoloute con artists! The “full service” is actually a base service and you have to pay for the parts you would usually get free in a FULL SERVICE. No communication during the day and cannot get through to them at all! Only contact you when they want there money. Charged me £935 in total and didn’t include the VAT in the quote so when it came to payment boy was i In for a shock! Was not able to get my car back unless I made the payment and as it was the weekend and they closed at 5 you have no choice but to pay, didn’t get my car back till the next day and I paid for the engine light to be investigated and sorted but it wasn’t even done! When I finally got through to complain they said I had to write in and they will get back to me???? What a joke! I’m 23 working 2 jobs and you have now caused me to not be able to put food on my table because of this. DISCUSTING

Car went for servicing on Monday and did not get car back until Wednesday. I was quoted the things that were wrong wrong bulbs on both indicators windscreen wipers to be changed remove and refit hose brake welding of loose exhaust bracket Renew brake fluids. My car is worth about £1000 and my bill to release the car was £979. I had no choice to approve. This was worth than dealer and amazingly I since last MOT and this one i have not used the car. I had recently changed my wipers and the car was running fine. Working as NHS staff I had hardly used my car and have been cycling to work for the last year. Even if these works were necessary it appears the cost were far too excessive. I would like a breakdown Never again I would not recommend anyone to use this service.

I'm so annoyed with myself , total rip off and frankly a dangerous service. I assume they have no quality checks on their subscribed mechanics. I had a MOT and service , It cost me over £500 fi nothing. Firstly they failed to turn up twice! Meaning 2days lost pay for me, once they dropped the car off I went out in the car and when it started to rain I went to use the window wipers and to my horror they didn't clear the window, this should of been a failure and it was quite worrying as I was driving down an unlit A road and could see nothing. Furthermore my car now screeches when I first start the car, I emailed before doing this review to give them the opportunity to correct things but of course as they'd had my money already their customer service was non existant and I didn't get a reply

If I could go lower than 1 star I would. Absolutely no answer on the phone when I called after they didn't show up in their arrival window. I called and waited on hold for nearly an hour. Contacted the e-mail and received a vague reply with no straight answer. I paid upfront and have received no service. BIGGEST RIP OFF!

Unbelievably shocking!!! As per the last review, stupid beyond belief, take information from a genuine garage (they are simply a call centre), add 300% and then when found out, start offering discounts, taking parts off the servicing schedule and charging for work that actually did not take place. The call handler clearly had training from a 1990s 'double glazed window salesman' and once caught out became simply rude and dismissive. Always go to a specialist (with a garage!!) for your car to be serviced. Do not be lured on cheap servicing costs. I paid a final bill (having paid £166) of £29 to get rid of them. Do not use them.

Overcharge and then play dumb. Terrible firm. Steer clear. Or you’ll pay 3 times over what the garage charges directly. Nightmare.

Thank goodness I saw this review page. This morning, I was waiting yet again to find out what time my car was going to be picked up for service and MOT today. They had already cancelled once, and literally as I was reading the reviews, the phone rang, and they cancelled the pick-up yet again, and couldn't give me any future dates ... so I cancelled and demanded a refund! I informed the caller that I'd read these recent reviews, and threatened to go to Trading Standards. The caller was very apologetic and said that they would get the refund sorted quickly. Now let's see how long that takes! Thanks to everyone else for their reviews x

unfortunately i did not see all the past reviews here and trusted the reviews on uk trustpilot. customer service was alright before payment was made. and like everyone, i receive a call abt additional charges which i agreed to some. once payment was made, i didnt receive any updates. had to call up ask abt the status of my car...car came back with mud trails on the whole car. came back completely dirty and i doubt any service was done.. dishonest people... google should really ban this company ad for coming up as the top few website when searching for car service...

Had to give them one star as you can't give them no stars. Completely ripped off by these scam artists. Will not be using them ever again, I will use my local garage in the future, they provide a much better affordable service. I'm very surprised that Trading Standards haven't done something about this awful company. Maybe Rogue Traders can get on the case. My advice to people never use this company, don't be enticed by the "special price" on the MOT and service, they will rip you off with the over inflated prices for work that doesn't need to be done on your car. PLEASE PLEASE avoid these cowboys.

BEWARE!!! SCAM!!!! The Servicing Stop always scams in the same way: lures you with low price, then gradually adds: special oil 29.99 (plus VAT) no matter what make of car you’ve got, £7.99 (plus VAT) of environmental charge , £5.99 (plus VAT) – fluids top up. And that is just the beginning of the ride. After around 2 hours you will be contacted by The Servicing Stop with a long list of so called “advisories” – faults that “should be” repaired, otherwise your car may pose a safety risk. The negotiation starts, they try to persuade you to do “advisories” and when you refuse, after few minutes there is a “manager” calling you from the garage, trying to threaten you directly or indirectly that if you don’t do necessary repairs he will have to keep your car. In my case the total of add ons was around £400. With the starting £100 of “offer” it was £500. I got scared they would not return my car, but was adamant I would not do the repairs with them. They gave up and I received e-mail with almost £150 to be paid. After the car was returned I did the inspection. They did not even pretend they did anything – the fluid levels under the bonnet were at the low – same level when I entrusted my car to them. I checked my dash camera and it appeared that the garage DID NOTHING, except for oil replacement (I can’t be sure of) as the car was docked for 45 minutes with someone underneath (Full Service lasts 3 hours on average). That is the only point out of massive FULL SERVICE list that there is a chance - was completed. Unless they were stealing something from underneath. THE SERVICING STOP is not replying to any e-mails of complaint, they don’t answer calls, unless you are at the stage you have not paid yet. Afterwards – forget!!! As they don’t belong to any mediatory bodies your only chance is to: 1. SEND WRITTEN COMPLAINT TO THEM WITH DEADLINE FOR RESPONSE. 2. Report them to TRADING STANDARDS. 3. TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT (after at least a month). It costs only £25. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

They cancelled my booking two days in a row, then booked me in with a garage over an hour away! I've cancelled. Although I pre paid and have to wait 14 days for a refund! Quick to take your money but won't give it back, even though they've done nothing but mess me about! Glad I cancelled looks like they would have robbed me. Don't bother with them. Bloody useless.

Not only was a dissatisfied with the call to tell me what I needed, it had already been started without consent but further more I then received 4 text messages telling me if I didn’t pay it could delay the return of my car, I’d already paid. Gary was condescending and not at all helpful NEVER AGAIN, you have been warned. Read the real reviews and not the made up fairy stories. On a plus not the guy from the garage was very nice and polite and I’d use the garage again. Still not had a response to my emails asking when my cars back, shoddy
