This felt like a scam to me. A cheap service offer turned into a repair quote of nearly £3,000, which was later reduced to £1,660 after I challenged it. Some charges seemed extremely high, and I left feeling misled. Please get a second opinion before approving any work. It could save you a lot of money.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Paid for service and car was collected with no issues. Received a call 3 hours later to advise that my car which has only done 22000 miles and is 2 years old needed an additional £393 of work (carbon oil engine flush and brake fluid service) . Questioned if I could get the car back and get the work done elsewhere and was advised that would mean the service wasn't completed. Grudgingly paid the bill. Then quickly called my husband and a friend at a local garage and was advise not only was this untrue but the work the carbon flush was absolutely unnecessary and the brake fluid service is usually around £60. 8 minutes after speaking with Adam at servicing stop I started trying to call back to ask them not to go ahead with the work and refund the payment. Eventually got someone on the phone about 30 minutes later and explained the situation was advised I had to speak with Adam and he would call straight back. Also emailed every email I could find for the company and still no response. Still waiting on a response and the work was carried out and car dropped back home. Absolutely disgusted and from previous reviews can see I'm not the only one. Will be posting my story on every site I can find until to warn others to avoid at all costs!!

I was forced to book online car service and ended up with servicestop today 03/06/2026 morning with advance payment of 120 pound. When this transaction was done bank was reminding suspects of fraud but paid and got booked. After receiving confirmation mail the garage address was not mentioned and was waiting for it till evening. Recieved a message regarding car collection and the text message was marked as spam. Finally I woke up and cancelled the service after I came to see pathetic reviews about them. It was a near miss. I appreciate the efforts of all those who posted their experience in which 90% turned negative. Think twice before chasing something cheap.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Servicing Stop and their partner garage. After being advised that additional repair work was required, I initially authorised the repairs based on the information provided. However, after reviewing the quotation, I quickly realised the costs appeared excessive and significantly overpriced. Within approximately 14 minutes of giving authorisation, I contacted Servicing Stop to cancel the work. To confirm the status of the repairs, I contacted the garage directly and was informed twice by a member of staff that no work had yet commenced on my vehicle. Despite this, and despite my clear and prompt attempt to withdraw consent, I was later presented with an invoice exceeding £600. What made matters worse was being told that my vehicle would not be released until the disputed invoice had been paid. Being effectively forced to pay in order to retrieve my own vehicle caused considerable distress and inconvenience. I am particularly concerned by the conflicting information provided regarding whether work had actually started, the apparent lack of flexibility when cancellation was requested almost immediately, and the overall transparency of the process. I also did not receive a stamped service book when my vehicle was returned, which raises further concerns about the quality and completeness of the service provided. The entire experience left me feeling misled, pressured, and treated unfairly as a customer. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Servicing Stop or its partner garages to obtain independent quotations and seek full clarification before authorising any additional work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service and would tell people to avoid at all costs. They charge you more then main dealers for extra work carried out and im suprised they are still in buisness.

DONT BOTHER! - SCAMMERS!! I booked MOT/service for collection from work, driver turned up at 8am after id told them wont be there til 9am. no matter, car went in. Checked on DVLA site it had passed., got a call off them saying unless i paid for more work to be carried out my service would be invalidated! Had to argue that the car had passed the MOT and just wanted it back in my possession before i finished work t 5pm. By 4.30 still no car, rang the garage was told as im not there customer they cant tell me when the vehicle is going to be returned, and they haven't received the go ahead to release it off servicing stop. Rang servicing stop put me on hold for 10 mins , came back and told me it would tomorrow now as all the drivers had gone home at 4.30 so no way i could get my car back! its day two and im still waiting !

They cancelled my first appointment and were very late collecting my car. I received a call about half way through the day from a disembodied voice somewhere in the Midlands telling me that various additional problems needed to be dealt with. The price quoted for this work was extortionate. I explained that I wanted just a basic service along with an MOT test. The person I spoke to said that a new windscreen washer pump was required and the cost for this was £198!. The trade price for this item is around £30! I had no choice but to tell them to go ahead in order that the car would pass the MOT. When the car was delivered back to me, a daylight running bulb (also essential for an MOT pass) was still not working. Additionally, the car servicing record which I provided on their request had not been completed. What does this say? It has been impossible to find out which garage had (allegedly) carried out the service and MOT. I have been given a new MOT certificate but in spite of this, my firm belief is that the vehicle had not been touched. Finally, I discovered that a tube of touch up paint was missing from the glove box. Servicing Stop are scammers in the extreme and should be put out of business.

Absolute ripoff, I didn’t realise my car was going to be driven approx 50 miles away for a service this wasn’t explained. I received a call later saying my car needed a new cam belt, auxiliary belt oil change, oil filter brake fluid and brakes dusted ….. £2348.00 !!! I agreed then thought I’m just throwing money away on an old car. I called back 30 minutes later and spoke to Gary, I said I don’t want the work done, he said it’s already started, I said it’s been 30 minutes. He reduced the bill (minus the cam belt) to £775. I called the garage where my car was and was told the only thing they had done was the service and they were doing the brake fluid. The garage said oil change and filter were included in the service. I’ve just paid £477.00 for a basic service and some brake fluid …… don’t touch this company with a barge pole. I did say to Gary Karma will definitely pay you back one day 🤞 I feel so upset that I’ve been taken for a fool and feel very stupid 😔

BARGE POLE Paid in full prior to collection for a full service and MOT. Later received a call saying that a special grade of oil had been used and that I had to pay extra before they would release the car back to me. Contacted the garage where the work had been subcontracted who said this was false and only regular materials had been used.

SCAM MOT came back fine Then they tried to say if I want the service done I need to have an engine flush and major break fluid change, which is complete bull**** and charged me £400 for that + the £200 I had already paid for service and MOT. Never again

My vehicle collection was suddenly moved to 19/05/2026 at very late notice, despite my MOT already being booked for the following day and my current MOT expiring on Saturday. This left me potentially without a car for several days and unable to work. The biggest issue was the lack of communication and planning. Customers rely on these bookings, especially when MOT expiry dates and work commitments are involved. Being informed so late gave me almost no chance to arrange an alternative. I would not recommend this service if timing and reliability are important to you.

Con merchants , put down Service advisories that are not faults with car , but hidden extras. For example changing the brake fluid 200 pounds , even though the car is 3 years old and it replaced at 2 years old. Lifetime engine flush and fuel treatment 150 pounds. The lifetime means that you have to take it back to them for servicing and they won't charge you 7 pounds for the engine flush and 5 pounds for the fuel treatment (Redex). Fuel treatment can be done by yourself by just adding to your petrol. The engine flush can be had just before an oil change. No explanation of what these extras are for. Avoid like the plague.

Unacceptable for Chris (Servicing Stop sales person) to call me with lies, saying I needed additional work on the car, that my engine light was on (lies), the engine needed carbon draining (false) and I needed to buy speciality oil for the oil change (also false). When I told Chris that I would check this directly with the mechanic he said I shouldn’t do that and it was his job to explain the work needed and how would I like to pay. When I insisted that I was going to call the mechanic, Chris hung up on me. I spoke directly with the mechanics who told me everything Chris had said was false. Expensive and convenient service. I wouldn’t mind if they were offering genuine services, but these salespeople will tell blatant lies to try and get extra money from you. Sad when you think of elderly or inexperienced people would believe their lies and pay hundreds more for unnecessary work.

These reviews have confirmed my suspicions. There are no garages that can carry out pick up/drop back with a full service carried out within the quoted cost, mine being £106;for a FULL service, bearing in mind the garage has a commission deducted. The additional oil charges are stipulated in T&C's and most modern vehicles require synthetic oils which are costly . Yes it is miss leading when initial part of servicing stipulates inclusion of oil change. So many cases of engine flush remains a common practice of high cost extras,as is brake fluids . Within the terms you do not have to authorise any additional costs for parts etc and entitled to your vehicle being returned with the service that you paid for. Established local garages are mostly transparent and happy to show replaced parts and charge reasonable rates. I have a hybrid car which requires computer access to set the brain child which is doubtful that this can be achieved within the paid service fee . There are your car dealerships that quote accurately and yes more costly than local garages but protect your warranty. Being fair ,there are garages that fall within warranty conditions and they will clarify this. This company states that you can cancel subscription or you will be charged . As a former owner of 3 garages I find that it is disgraceful how this company continues to operate. Clever marketing drawing consumers into low prices and the small print covering many extras and charges. Trading standards have extensive powers to challenge this company but remains complex when your vehicle is passed on to a third party, yet it is possible. Paying by credit card usually covers protection (transactions over £100) and should fall within your terms. Also ,you can request a payment reversal from your provider. Be wise, J

Absolute scam. First of all Servicing Stop DO NOT do any work on your car, they are a go between, other Garages pay them a percentage for the work they do, if I had known this I would have taken it to a local garage. I booked a Service and MOT, £180 with Pick Up, got a phone call from Servicing Stop that it would be an extra £30 because my car needed special oil, paid that so that comes to £210, then had another phone call that to pass the MOT it would cost just over £800, told me the two parts I needed were over £250 each ( some kind of bushes) While I was on the phone to him I looked up the parts which were £70 each, I told him this, he then stuttered a bit, I told him I would buy the parts and I would pay the garage to fit them, he told me no this couldn't happen. I then told him to get the garage to drop my car off, he then told me that no this couldn't happen because my car had failed the MOT, took me three phone calls to find out exactly where my car was, picked it up decided to bite the bullet cut my losses and pay for another MOT at my local garage the next day. So glad I did, I had the bushes done......including parts and labour and MOT certificate, cost me £220, not over £800, so Servicing Stop were ready to make £600 profit basically from another garage doing the work, an absolute scam The local garage I took it too have advised me to report it to Trading Standards because he said this is the worst garage scam he has seen in years. Do not use Servicing Stop when AA would have been cheaper.

Absolutely shocking service, charged me for a full service and mot, failed me on surface rust on my discs, then tried to charge me an additional £100 for oil just to be able to drive my car back to me? They have threatened to keep my car until I pay extra for oil that was included in my full service and states online is included. Customer service is terrible, mocked me because it’s an old car, told me the cars unroadworthy but they’re happy to drive it back to me once I pay more money, originally on the same phone call they wanted an extra £440 to repair surface rust on my discs and replace a left rear reverse bulb to retest, also failed me on tyre pressure however the bloke who picked it up on the morning was made aware and he said he would put some air in them before he took off for the garage. This service is scammy and shows it on every level after you part with payment. Hopefully I’ll see the car again, but as for now it’s a hostage at servicing stop.

I’ve recently used service stop they rang me saying my car needed an engine flush & brake fluid being a woman on my own & trusting their judgment i asked them to go ahead so as well as the cost of the service & M.O.T it was over £300 when I’ve looked these costs up I feel I’ve been overcharged. I’ve emailed them but they haven’t replied. Sincerely S Foster
