I am writing to formally raise a complaint and dispute the charges relating to the recent service and MOT carried out on my vehicle. After paying £167.08 for what I believed was a standard service, I arranged for my car to be collected. At the time of collection, I only asked the driver to check the radiator and possibly flush it. He confirmed he would pass this information to the garage. Later that day, I received a call informing me that my car had failed its MOT and that additional work was required. However, I did not request or authorise any of the extra services that were subsequently carried out. Despite this, I was sent a further bill of £658.47. I find this completely unreasonable, especially considering the value of my car is less than £3,000. I was not properly consulted, nor did I give consent for the additional work listed, including: • Brake fluid renewal (£195.00) • Fuel treatment and engine flush (£150.00) • Other associated charges Furthermore, I was placed on a payment plan with Payment Assist without proper explanation or consent, which I strongly dispute. I have made several attempts to contact your company by phone, but the number provided does not connect to a person and only leads to an automated system. I have also sent emails over the past two months and have received no response. This lack of communication is unacceptable. Additionally, I must raise a serious concern regarding the conduct of the driver who returned my car. His behaviour was unprofessional and unacceptable, as he simply dropped the keys through the window without communication. Given all of the above, I formally request: 1. A full breakdown and justification of all charges 2. Confirmation of any work authorised, with evidence 3. Immediate review and cancellation of any unauthorised charges 4. Clarification regarding the Payment Assist agreement

Not happy at all. Car was booked to be picked up from my home between 8am and 11am. They called at 11:15 to cancel my Service due to staff Illness. Told them I should have been contacted earlier of this was the case. Very difficult to get in contact with. Impossible to speak to someone. No replies to my previous emails regarding service enquires. Waste of time.

is totally cheating. There are hiding fees to be forced to be paid . The staff was rude. I won’t use it again. I booked the Full service and MOT for my car a few days ago on Service Stop website . I was in the garage and I have seen the job done. When the garage was reporting my car’s job to Service Stop , I heard every word that the garage staff talked to the Service Stop. My car was in good situation and passed MOT smoothly. However when the staff in Service stop called me they said my car was put extra oil and I must pay for it. I said I booked and paid for Full service , you need to change the oil for my car, that included in the Full Service . The staff said you must pay , otherwise you won’t get your car back. The staff was rude. He said it ( extra payment) is in the term and condition when you book it on the website. So that I have to paid the extra fee to get my car back that day because I need the car back. When I got back to check my booking documents , there were no any word about the extra oil fee the customer needs to pay. Actually when the customers book the service on Service Stop website, they will know all the details for the car as long as the customer put the registration number. According to the car, they charge every customer differently. So that it was cheating and hiding about extra oil fee. After I paid and got my car back, they sent me email said I requested and agreed to pay extra oil. They were telling a lie. The truth is until I called them to request my car back , nobody from Service Stop to ask me about it. They were using different excuse to force me to pay in the email. Horrible experience with Service Stop.

Late for collection, was phoned late afternoon to try and for fully scam 100's£ to fix the power steering belt, although should be replaced after 60k miles and my vehicle has 20k. Charged for "specialist" oil which my van doesn't require. Then received the vehicle over 10 hours later. Unable to contact the garage for delivery time, wouldn't use again.

After i paid them for MOT and full service they told me there were other things needed to be done on the car that cost almost a 1000 pound..I agreed to be paying through monthly instalments..The most painful part is they seem to have lost my car because the garage they gave my car to does not even exist. The garage number goes on voicemail i went myself to the address only to find out its a car wash and a lot of other people are also looking for the same guy whose number i was given by servicing stop..Police is on the matter ,I dont care to whom they gave the car to i hold them responsible for stealing my car away from me…Thieves.

The word 'scam' tends to be overused online. But there is no better word to be used for Servicing Stop. Well, perhaps crooks, thieves, or conmen would also suffice. Strap yourselves in for this rollercoaster. Having checked out their website and (stupidly) only read their website reviews, I called them to ask how it worked as it seemed too good to be true. The person on the phone confirmed that I just choose a date and my car will get picked up and dropped back off to me on the same day, and this service would be included in the price. Looking back, this is quite literally the ONLY service that was included in the price. I booked with them and paid the upfront cost of £119 for a full service of my car. The pick up was fine, the driver arrived on time and drove my vehicle to the garage. However I was not provided with the name or address of the garage by Servicing Stop, so I rang them and insisted that I was given the address. When the address was sent through, it did not provide the name of the actual garage, instead called it "Servicing Stop Garage", followed by the address. I did not realise at this point that Servicing Stop do not actually have ANY garages in their name. Later in the day, I was rung by someone called Dean, purporting to be from the garage. He reeled of a whole list of things wrong with my car that needed doing "urgently", and spoke so quickly that I felt rushed and pressured into making a decision there and then. He spoke about my car as though he had done the work and he was standing right next to it. "You've got a great car here, I thought it would need a lot more doing to it than that, it's actually not that bad" he said, after quoting me a total of £611 to complete the work. He also used phrases including "we'll do the wipers for you", as though he was part of the garage doing the work. Having read Google reviews since, it appears that this is a common tactic used by Servicing Stop to pressure people in to getting unnecessary work done for a HUGELY inflated price. I agreed to the work being done as I was not given a chance to research and see how much it would have cost to get it done elsewhere (spoiler: it should not cost £200 to get your brake fluid filled up). Plus, I had already paid the £119, which I was beginning to realise did not include very much other than them looking at the car, everything else was extra. It was also getting later in the day and I needed my car back by the evening. After my original payment was deducted, I owed them £500~ for the remaining work. I could not afford this in one go, so agreed to a interest free payment plan of £125 over 4 months. I received my car back suspiciously quickly after agreeing to the work. It was in Newhaven, and I live in Hove, so the journey at that time of day can take up to 45 minutes, yet I got it back about an hour after the phone call. They must have done £600 worth of worth very quickly. Alarm bells began to ring when I spoke to a friend who was astonished by how much I was charged (I know, they should have sounded much earlier). Then I checked my log book. I found that it had not been stamped. My suspicions rose further. Had they actually even serviced my car? Surely they can't have just charged me £600 for nothing.............. surely? At this point I have tried ringing Servicing Stop multiple times over the course of 5 days, each time being fobbed off with "I'll get someone to call you back" and, lo and behold, hearing nothing. I decided to take my car to another garage for a second opinion to check that any work had actually been done. I phoned a small independent garage who, upon hearing me say the words "Servicing Stop", told me to bring my car down immediately. The owner told me he had also been screwed over by them, where they had agreed to be one of their garages to get customers, and then been accused of grossly overcharging them. His prices were well below what a customer said they were charged, but the garages do not actually see that part of the process. The owner then rang them for me, where he had the same issue of being fobbed off and assured that someone would call him back. Upon putting my car on the lift, it was clear that absolutely no work had been done to my car. The engine filter was old and rusty, the sump plug in a similar condition, the brake screws untouched. We then rang the garage that allegedly did the work. After some back and forth, they admitted that no work had actually been completed because supposedly Servicing Stop had not instructed them to do any work and there was a miscommunication at the garage. Finally, I heard back from Servicing Stop after sending them my evidence in an email. Hayley offered me a partial refund for absolutely nothing being done. I stated I would not rest until I had a refund in full. They seem to have made the mistake of underestimating an annoyed woman with access to Google. See you in court!!

Feeling totally ripped off by this company, they give an initial reasonable quote for a full service including parts and labour, then during the service they rang and asked for an extra £100 for the oil and an engine flush which I have since discovered shouldn't need doing on a 2nd service with less than 12000 miles. The so called full service is actually an oil and filter change which cost me £260

It is not a full service that you get, it's an oil and filter change. They ring you and tell you you need an Engine flush and brake fluid change and quite aggressively tell you that it will cost you £400, then you ask the garage and the garage says no they didn't do it and dont do Engine flushes. So when you ring up to get your money back, they make excuses and tell you that they will ring you back, and dont and run you around in circles. Don't use these people, you will regret it.

Like many others I have lost money I could ill afford to this unscrupulous firm. I paid initial quote of £188 up front to get a £40 discount. Being elderly and disabled my car only does short local journeys, is garaged and in perfect order. Only done 3700 miles but due a service and first MOT. Car collected, several hours later I got a call to say “All done, MOT pass no problems, you just need to pay £293 for brake fluid and oil change”. I was shocked, but told I could pay on instalments. This I refused and after a lengthy discussion it was obvious my car would not be returned until I paid. This I did, my car arrived back very quickly with a voucher from the garage offering 15% discount on future jobs with them direct. Now having knowledge of where my car had been I went to the garage, who appeared genuinely shocked at what I had been charged but said my business was with Servicing Stop, not them. I said they had not even stamped my service book, so they agreed to at least do this. In total I paid almost £440 for what I am now informed should have been approximately £180. The Citizens Advice Bureaux is aware of this firms underhand tactics and have reported them to trading standards. If it sounds too good to be true you can guarantee it is.

🚨 Extremely Disappointed – Overcharged & Misleading Pricing Absolutely shocked and disappointed with this service. After receiving my bill, I compared the prices with multiple Wakefield service centres, including Halfords and Kwik Fit, and it is very clear that I was grossly overcharged. Here are the facts: Brake fluid change charged £156 – this costs £60–£90 at most Wakefield garages. Engine flush charged £114 – other garages charge £40–£70, and many don’t even recommend it. Environmental surcharge £22.50 – well above the local norm. Extra charges such as specialist oil surcharge were added with no proper explanation or approval. The final bill came to £436.81, which is completely unjustifiable for the work done when compared to local market prices. What’s worse is the lack of transparency. Additional high-cost items were added without clearly explaining the necessity or getting informed consent. This feels like a classic case of upselling and taking advantage of customers who trust the garage to be honest. I feel misled, overcharged, and extremely dissatisfied. This is not how a professional service provider should operate. I will never return, and I strongly advise others in Wakefield to compare prices elsewhere before using this service, or you may end up paying far more than you should.

Rip people off by charging for work which designated garage never completed. These are just con artists and you have to think that the garages they use are at least complicit.

All great with pick up and communication between myself and the garage. My car had passed the MOT. However, I had a call from Servicing Stop informing me that there were a few things that needed doing regarding the service before I could have my car returned. The cost was high so I asked if I could just do the most important job which they agreed and I was charged £100. Something felt off so I rang the garage and was told that they had not said anything about work having to be done before I could receive my car back. They made it clear that they would never do that. I rang Servicing Stop straight back and told them to cancel the payment as I did not need the work doing in order to have my car returned, this action was advised by the garage. Car was returned. Currently awaiting my refund. Would NEVER use Servicing Stop again!

Holding my car hostage! Paid for full service and MOT. It passed MOT. SS Trying to charge me £36 for a low carbon oil change. Contacted the garage (as I know a chap that works there). They haven’t used any special oil. I told the SS guy that I did not approve any further payment. He said he’d send me a link to pay and that I would need to pay for the oil change else I’d not get my car back. He continuously interrupted me on the phone, and was rude and arrogant and he hung up on me. I’m ex Police and I’m now classed as a vulnerable adult. I still have all my faculties though. What they are doing (switch and bait/upselling/demanding money with menaces is extortion and fraudulent). I’ve contacted my bank and I’ve also reported the matter to the police. I haven’t paid and still don’t have my car.

Booked my car in for a service £147. Car got picked up on 2nd March at 10am. Told it would be back between 4 and 6. I got a call at 13.51 when I answered nobody spoke. I tried calling back 7 times. At one point I was 3rd in the queue for 20 minutes. Kept getting cut off. Phoned at 6. Office was closed. No car. I calked at 9am. They said they tried to call us allday which they never. They said we had to pay £29 for oil. I said everything was supposed to be in the price. They wouldn't give us our car back unless we paid it. I paid ot and they said our car would be back between 4 and 6. I said we needed it ASAP as we were going away. We were all packed but they said all their drivers were out. Ive called trading standards to report them. I wish id read the reviews first. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE SCAMMERS

Awful company. Booked out of necessity because no availability in my normal garage. Didn't collect my car on the day it was booked in originally, absolutely impossible to get in touch with. Took me over three hours to get hold of anyone. They rearranged for another day as the local garage was now unable to collect. On the day it was collected promptly however when it was about to be returned they called and demanded 248 pounds for brake fluid change. I told them it was too expensive and they said it was the garage price. I asked to get a second opinion and Servicing Stop initially refused to return my vehicle to me until I paid £34 for oil change for "specialist oil", then put the phone down on me. Rude and aggressive selling tactics. Rang the garage who were unable to speak to me about my own car because Servicing Stop have to authorise the car release for them to receive payment for the work. When they finally did authorise the garage confirmed they charge £65 for brake fluid change and not 248. Absolute criminals! This does not reflect the garage work or staff - they were as helpful as they could be. Servicing stop put garages in difficult positions where they hav to decline speaking to customers due to the tactics used by company. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

To cheap to be true, thought so, £94 for a full service. Thank goodness for reviews, saved me a lot of time and hassle by the sound of it. Read the small print. By the way this excludes spark plug ( if petrol, im diesel don't need em) , air filter, fluid top ups, low saps oil, etc - oh and any thing else they find.

Booked in for a supposed bargain£114 pound full service. I also had warning lights I wanted dealing with (and etc) Later in the day they phoned ( very polite and cheerful)wanting over £1000 - without fixing the issue with the warning lights which were caused by a failed motor in a rear caliper. They wanted a further £400 for that. It's a 2015 Jaguar and they pointed out that the Jaguar main dealer would have cost a lot. Yes, maybe and that's why I would never use them! Outrageously over priced (diagnostic = £150 + vat) I got my car back having paid over £800 without the main issues being attended to. I am a pensioner and cannot just work overtime to pay for bills like this. Not cheap, not safe, go to a known local garage. I am sure I would have had a far better deal and more reasonable prices if I had. I now have to either have a go at fixing the rear calliper myself or paying out again for someone to fit one floor me. I will never use them again. I feel scammed. Stan Sanders

Dreadful. Read the small print concerning what is actually covered by your “full service”. Mine included oil and an oil filter. That’s it. Not even an air filter. Even then I had to pay more for the oil. They tried to upsell me an engine flush before the new oil and filter. Totally unnecessary and can actually be harmful. Modern diesel oil already has plenty of detergent in it. Then it was “you need this, you need that, we can do it all for £500 and have payment plans”. No thanks. The guy on the phone got really short with me when the sales pitch failed. They had no access to my car’s service history, no digital stamp, didn’t know what had been done and what needed doing, drove it bloody miles away. Never again. Supposed to get the car back by 6pm. Got it back the next day with zero communication. ‘As seen on Dragon’s Den’ milked to boost sales since 2009 when they got an offer from Deborah Meaden , who later withdrew it after performing due diligence. I wish I had. I’m out.
