“I have not been lucky since needing glasses having paid a lot of money for two pairs of very expensive varifocals both pairs ended up in the case because they were too painful to wear so I have resorted to wearing different single lens glasses for different tasks but that often led to having 3 or 4 pairs of glasses balanced on my head or around my neck at a time or never knowing where the correct pair were so I wanted to give opticians a final try. The very friendly, helpful staff at Scrivens took that on board and tried their best to provide glasses that would meet my needs both as an artist ( which involved very precise closeup work) and for my everyday needs. The results are I have new glasses that I can wear for most of the day without too much discomfort that enable me to see when I am doing a variety of tasks. Sadly the nature of how varifocals work means they still do not allow me to do the really close work but Scrivens are hoping to remedy that so with luck they will meet all of my needs.”

“I had first class treatment my glasses had broken and I was able to have an eye test that day by waiting an hour, I was due an eye test in about a month's time so it made sense to not repair my old ones as I had a pair that I could get by with until the new ones were ready for me and as my sight had changed quite a bit it was recommended a new prescription was needed. I chose to try the new Drivesafe lenses and must say I have been very impressed with them. and the kindness and help I was given by Scarlet James and her staff was second to none. many thank to all at Scrivens Bury St Edmunds.”

“Following the purchase of my first intermediate prescription glasses, I was sent a half-price voucher to buy another pair. This enabled me to get another pair of designer frames with Transitions lenses for the summer for under £150 - bargain! I am particular about choosing a frame and, when I worked in an opticians, it used to take me a long time to find one to suit me, but at Scrivens I have found two frames I love in a short space of time. Offering customers a half-price pair after a few months is a great idea.”
