“very knowledgable staff. Good range of available products to choose from at a good range of prices from the glasses perspective. However trying to organise an appointment for a 6 monthly contact lens check is proving very difficult. The 1 day I could do due to work commitments was subsequently cancelled. Rotas apparently only come out a month at a time which is very unhelpful for working people who do not work in the town and have limited availability to attend. To have to take time off work so that you do not stop delivery of my lenses is frankly not acceptable in this day and age”

“Professional and friendly staff who give an excellent service. Scrivens are not the cheapest but I go back as I’ve always had a positive experience and the staff go the extra mile to help and make me feel comfortable. Quality with the human touch!”

“I have had four attempts to get my glasses made correct, first attempt the prisms were the incorrect way directing my vision to be double, the second time was right eye had a focus distance of only ten feet my left eye was correct, after have a further eye test, it was found that my eye sight had changed, it was suggested that my diabetes may cause this, I have not had diabetes for over one year, The latest was to wear the glasses for a further two week to get used to them,all I have had is a balance problem and continued me grain. I have just had an eye scan which involved having a photo of the back of my eye, this has shown clear, no sign of diabetes. I would like a full refund so I can go and have further free test with a different optician.”

“The optician was very professional,friendly, & helpfull. Very pleasant staff. The range of frames is very good. When I chose my glasses I asked if there were any special offers available, I was told no. However when I went to pick up my new glasses I looked at the reminder letter it clearly stated that there was 25% of frames for over 60’s, which was rectified on request by myself. There was also an offer for a second pair for half price, this was not mentioned. I would have taken up the offer for a second pair.”

“I booked an appointment online and was pleased to be able to choose a time that suited me. The appointment itself was on time, friendly and informative. I appreciated how the staff didn’t try to sell me expensive frames. My glasses were ready earlier than expected and I was notified by text when they were ready to collect. The eye test was only £10, matching Specsavers, however my experience with Scrivens was much better than my previous experience with Specsavers.”
