“Having used other opticians because at the time they had frames I wanted, I have always gone back to Scrivens. Somehow the optician seems more thorough and certainly the follow up service, for example altering the fit of a new pair of glasses are the best out there. I now go there first.”

“The staff were very friendly and helpful but I am struggling a bit getting used to the new glass's. when I turn my eyes slightly off centre it goes a bit blurred. I'll see how it goes over the next week or two. The other thing was the price, which I don't think is very competitive with other opticians. I paid £587 for a pair of £39 frames with varifocal transition lenses and a pair of my own frames fitted with varifocal non transition lenses.”

“I don’t normally find there is much choice of glasses but love my glasses this time, however they are expensive like the fact your open on Saturday newquay staff are more friendly than Penzance don’t feel valued as a customer though”

“I have been using Scrivens for specs since almagamating with Melson Wingate (who I used until that time) and always have good and personal service. Sadly, a year ago I had new lenses fitted to a favourite pair of frames from 5 years ago and this year they broke and being old are obsolete cannot be repaired. My only reason for giving four stars and not five is I don’t recal a warning as I ordered the new lenses that being old frames this could happen and the cost was high to abandon these specs. So a do it yourself Repair will be necessary to get full use of them. The specs I have just had delivered were supplied earlier than expected and I’m very pleased with them and the service in ordering.”

“Optician was thorough. Reception maybe could be more .....polite? As in don't treat the customers as if they are mud on their shoe!”

“I have waited to review until I was used to a pair of glasses which were a replacement for a pair prescribed which weren't quite right. The staff at the Shirley Branch listened to my concerns and came up with a solution. I would recommend this branch, which I did and my partner also had his eyes tested and is happy with his new glasses.”

“disappointed when i took an hour off of work when i work in Bath and to find out the shop was closed and pouring down with rain and staff member had no key as she was told to hand it to different staff member we all getting wet. Had to rebook the service was good on next appointment”

“I found scriven optician very efficient and helpful. After having my heating and eye test it didn’t take long to choose and order my new glasses. 5 days later they arrived and I am very pleased with them.”

“Booking process very easy and well executed. Very thorough eye test & examination. Particularly the optometrist who was very professional whilst being extremely kind. Good communication throughout the process. All in all would use again.”

“very knowledgable staff. Good range of available products to choose from at a good range of prices from the glasses perspective. However trying to organise an appointment for a 6 monthly contact lens check is proving very difficult. The 1 day I could do due to work commitments was subsequently cancelled. Rotas apparently only come out a month at a time which is very unhelpful for working people who do not work in the town and have limited availability to attend. To have to take time off work so that you do not stop delivery of my lenses is frankly not acceptable in this day and age”
