“Very pleasant staff. Disappointed, however, that I wasn't informed that I could have taken my prescription elsewhere to see if I could have obtained a cheaper of spectacles.”

“Staff were very polite albeit perhaps a little too chatty, however my partner recently had an eyesight test and purchased two pairs of glasses from Specsavers (the same service as I received at Scrivens) but I ended up paying nearly double what he'd paid despite the offers that I took advantage of. When my prescription glasses were ready for collection I was sent a note rather than receive a phone call or an email even though I had said I was happy to be contacted by email.”

“I rang Mexborough branch to ask how much it was to change the lenses in my glasses to the new prescription, and was told £30. On attending the branch I was told that they charged £69 plus£30 for putting the lenses in the glasses. I queried this because across the precinct at another opticians the total charge was £39 including fitting. A very big difference for the same service. I find this extremely off-putting. As a disabled pensioner, who receives no help towards the cost of the glasses, I will be very reluctant to buy glasses from any of your stores again, particularly as I was given incorrect information in the first place.”

“My first time dealing with Scrivens and I was very happy with the level of customer service. I didn't feel like I was being 'processed' (as I felt with another company close by) and I wasn't put under pressure to buy new specs that I did not need.”
