After an initial visit to the Milton Keynes branch for a quick “review of frames and service” and a brief chat with Jas, my mind up was made up and the following Friday booked an appointment for the next day with George. Turned up at 11:00 and was greeted professionally by Jas and George and the optician. After the test I was referred to the local eye clinic due to high eyeball pressure. All done professionally and explained. Speaking with Jas I then chose some frames that I had already previewed and she gave me all the necessary info with regards to price and all with a friendly smile and demeanour! So much so that I decided to get a second pair of glasses. With an offer on as well I decided to get frames from another store but no problem! Lens would be done to fit and all would be great!! As I was beginning to like this store at competitive pricing I decided to ask about sunglasses!! No problem said Jas and proceeded to explain all the options! Frame styles didn’t quite match what I was looking for but that was no problem to Jas who explained that I could get get other frames and lenses made to fit!! All in all after spending over £2500 on 4 pairs I honestly would not consider going to any opticians anywhere at all!! Fantastic service and I have to say this to Scrivens Management!!! 1. If you don’t offer a customer care award for staff then you need to start doing so!! 2. When you do start then give this lady Jas a thought as she is a fantastic example of what exemplifies excellent customer service and a smile and deserves to be recognised!! I like this store so much I may just get another pair of glasses before the summer is out!! Or 2 pairs!!!! 👍😀”

“I was fitted with nhs hearing aids at Hobs most medical centre Olton by Scrivens & was not happy with any of it & cannot use the aids. Was not shown how to put them in & it hurts my right ear. I phoned your shop in Shirley, Solihull & felt that the receptionist was pushy & determined to do it her way, in the end I gave up. I am not convinced that I need these kind of hearing aids, although your Hobs Moat lman told me I was deaf, my Granddaughter said ‘do you really need hearing aids’.”

“Took my 7 year old for an eye test today at the Rhyl branch, he was nervous, the ladies booking us in were so friendly and the optician who carried out the tests was so lovely, my little boy came home and said 'he was really nice wasn't he' He was friendly and made us feel well cared for.”

“I attended my appointment today 15/03/2023 at Scrivens. High Street, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Excellent, friendly and efficient service, I was made to feel valued as a customer and the entire process of both my hearing and eye tests was first class. Thank you.”

“I have been to this optician for many years and I can not tell if the optician was having a bad day, but she berated me, spoke ‘at me’ and became defensive and I would say ‘aggressive’ - when I mentioned that I had a bad experience with a different high street optician - it turns out, that optician was her past employer. The woman appeared to take this personally and went on and on ( repeating twice) how all opticians went to only 8 universities in the country and are all equally good. No! You are not all equally good. This is a well known fact established from research backed surveys. You were rude to me today. You behaved in a bullying way and I will not be returning - not because you were bad at being an optician ( you do better eye checks than most). But because you were disrespectful and berated me - you have no right to speak to anyone like that, let alone an older customer.”

“Absolutely amazing staff.. took my 5 Yr old grandson in Shaw, all the staff were so helpful, chatting and playing with my grandson, the optician was very patient 🤷‍♀️😂 honestly they couldn't do enough,n I ad a right chin wag too 😊 Massive Thankyou to you all, my grandson actually said he was frightened.. but that didn't last long..😊”

“If I could give 0 stars I probably would. Worst customer service, so unprofessional. When I walked in there they were all sat around drinking all sorts of colourful drinks and chit chatting. Store looked a mess and quite frankly, they looked like they couldn’t care less!”

“Did a absolutely fantastic job, hearing much better then before. The insert to right ear is causing slight pain. When at Veterans Breakfast Club hearing is not right cannot hear group conversations. Please can help with this??”

“Very friendly staff who talked me through everything and were very reassuring after I woke up unable to see out of my right eye. Very happy now after having my eyes tested and being given all clear and an explanation what was causing it and how to remedy it”

“nice staff but i was early for my eye test had one test then had to waiit for another test and sat around for about 2 hours i said ive been up very early and need to get it done as soon as possible then tried to charge me but on the letter it said it was a free test so i showed letter and got it free got to go back for some more glasses but will go on a weekend this time”

“HI THEIR SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN GETTING BACK TO YOU. I have ALWAYS FOUND THE STAFF AT RIPLEY TO BE MOST HELPFUL AND OBLIGING.I WOULD GIVE THEM 100% FOR THEIR CARE AND ATTENTION. MY NHS EARNING AIDES ARE WORKING JUST FINE AND MY GLASSES ARE JUST AS GOOD. HOWEVER A LEN'S DID DROPE OUT BUT WAS FIXED ON THE SPOT.”
