Went to two scrivens stores today. Burslem and Wolstanton. Both said open until 5pm both were closed by 3:30pm wasted trip in traffic,

James tennick I attended Peaseway Medical Practice on the 3rd of january with Clare from scrivens for a hearing test, I would like to give the best possible review. Clare explained every thing in detail and was very thorough thank you very much 7/1/ 2024

Not very happy. The eye test itself was good, but the optician failed to sign the prescription and I'm having an awful time getting a signed replacement with the staff seeming unwilling to take what I consider to be simple and reasonable steps to provide me with one. Almost a week later and I'm still waiting.....last time I phoned them they said it was because they'd run out of stamps! Unbelievable!

Left on Google maps.... This place really is a cut above the rest !! I've just come back from my visit to Scrivens opticians on Stratford rd in Shirley I've never had an eye exam but found my left eye now has blurry vision. I don't qualify for free NHS eye tests because I work.. but they do all the NHS services. I found a voucher for Scrivens online giving me an eye exam for just £10... So I booked this location. The shop has a multitude of frames to suit all pockets, you can get very expensive look for a surprisingly low price 👓🕶️🤓 There is also a huge selection half price in the sale currently Let's get to the service I received... that was 2nd to none... Very professional from start to finish Every member of staff I dealt with was fantastic... Courteous, professional, smartly dressed and really knew their jobs. Members of the team did the initial tests using the latest (hospital grade) optical testing machines. Dhillon was the optician that interpreted the results and did a close in-depth inspection of my eyes... He took the time to closely inspect each eye with a light and magnifier and test a range of lenses... Again he was very professional and very informative. 2 machines are usually used for the test but there was a new optional 3d imaging machine that cost me an extra £10 that produced a image of the back of the eyes showing the blood vessels and different layers of the eyes. Everything in the shop was clinically clean and there was plenty staff. photos show the shop and the massive range of frames... I also took photos of the machines they used I have sat and waited for my wife's exams in the past at other opticians (not Scrivens) they have only taken a few minutes and not very in-depth.... nothing compared to this one... The optician during his close inspection did find a cataract on my left eye... He explained the procedure to fix it then emailed all the information to Spa Medical to start the process of getting it removed. What a fantastic service and a very thorough eye exam from an exceptional team... I would highly recommend Scrivens to anyone after the service I received here today. --------------------- update info Same evening I was contacted by spa medica... Had a pre op today 3rd Jan And I'm scheduled to have the op on Thursday 11th of Jan... Fantastic result in such a short time. Very pleased !!

Eye test week before Christmas which was professional conducted by both optician and support staff. No complaints here other than the high cost of the spectacles, (more expensive than Boots or Specsavers). However, when my spectacles were ready for collection I received a txt and contacted the local branch number (Bourne End , Bucks) which must have been busy as I later got transferred to a centralised number (as I was advised later by your staff) and told to turn up anytime to collect spectacles. When I followed up on 22nd December I was berated for not having booked an appointment by an officious assistant. Having contacted your organisation, prior to visiting the branch, I took offence at this, whereupon attitude changed to I was busy, phoned engaged and so transferred to Head Office who do not know what they are doing! She did, however, deign to give me my spectacles. Having spent over £700 on spectacles (almost twice Specsavers) I do not appreciate this treatment and will not be using your company again. Talking the talk about family business and service is one thing, unfortunately experiencing the reality is another.

I had the worst experience I’ve ever encountered at Scrivens Maidenhead branch, I was sold under pressure a Starkey Hearing Aid price £2400 for one. I was not told the hearing aid was old technology despite talking to the audiologist about new technology. I was not given a follow up appointment, I was extremely unhappy with the aid which was not helping with the areas I needed. I made an appointment to go back, the audiologist I saw had left Scrivens, I found out that a new Starkey aid came out approximately two weeks after my purchase. At no time did the audiologist tell me a new aid was coming out, he did inform me that there was one being tested but would not be available until middle/end of 2024. I returned my aid for refund on 7/12/2023. I was informed by the branch manager that she didn’t have the authority to refund me, only head office could do that. Despite an email (not answered) and 2 telephone calls to customer service I still have not received my refund, just told it’s being processed. I ask how long does it take to refund money in this age of instant banking. Today is 30/12/23 how much longer do I wait until I either have to get solicitors involved or small claims court. Worst customer service I’ve come across.

I had an emergency eye issue and the Opticians in Wem responded immediately. Got me in to see Rosie the resident Optician for a full eye exam and health check. All the staff were great but Rosie is something special, I feel completely confident in her care. Thank you to them all for their care of me and the thoroughness of their approach. So very appreciated.

I just happened to call in on the off-chance as I lost my bud from the end of my hearing aid . Even though I'm not registered with them a really helpful young lady very kindly offered to make sure it wasn't stuck in my ear canal . Luckily it was OK. I would just like to say a big thank you to her so THANK YOU

Excellent service from the ladies (Lorraine, Teresa and Dawn) at Loughborough Scrivens. Very efficient at setting up my eye appointment and glasses order. Glasses arrived a week after eye test which I didn't expect so close to Christmas! Thank you!

Absolutely thrilled with mine and my husband's glasses after trying several opticians we have finally found the right one friendly caring and definitely professional our glasses were ready in just under a week fantastic service thank you scrivens we will be back

Either Scrivens are deaf themselves or so arrogant that they ignore everything you say. Despite my telling them that I want nothing more to do with them due to the absolutely useless new hearing aids they inflicted on me. They continue to pester me with calls, emails and letters. Basically they believe that harassment is a good thing. Once again I say to Scrivens "Leave me alone and remove my details from your database" Try this unique ID Code 164045 from your latest unwanted communication. I did complete the questionnaire and it should leave you in no doubt that I will never set foot inside a scrivens again. Why is there not a zero stars option?

May 2023 - Hearing tested and supplied with hearing aids within 35 minutes! After which I discovered several pieces of information, by internet research, not offered to me at that time, including that the aids could be adjusted via an app on my phone. This I learned from a friend who uses aids!! June 2023 - Six weeks after my appointment I received an email asking how I was getting on with the aids. I replied they were uncomfortable (making the back of my ears sore) and I was finding minimal to no hearing improvement from using them. An email reply said it appeared I would benefit from extra help and one of the team would contact me in the next few days. To date (December 2023) no such contact has been made. December 2023 - My Daughter, tired of seeing me struggle contacted head office and arranged another appointment for me at the more local branch in Weston super Mare, my first appointment had been in Bristol. Monday 18th December 2023 - My appointment booked for 9.30 am I drive towards Weston and at 9.07 am my mobile rings. It is Scrivens, Birmingham asking if I am me! Discusses my appointment time etc. I ask if the call is essential as I am driving. The reply is yes appointment is cancelled!!!!!! No audiologist is available. I am offered another appointment, but before this can be arranged it becomes necessary to check my date of birth, full name and first line of my address 'to ensure I am the right patient'!! Already my CANCELLED appointmenthas been confirmed and it's they who have called me. I reiterate I am driving and do not wish to take unnecessary risks by contining to talk while doing so. The caller suggests calling me later, I agree. Friday 21 st December 2023 - Surprise, surprise no call to reschedule appointment, but email thanking me for my support (something I have NOT received from Scrivens) and wishing me a Happy Christmas, looking forward to seeing me in 2024. Good to know they have a sense of homour!!!!!!

Re Broadstone, Poole branch. Shelley, the store manager and all her staff are a credit to Scrivens. Their fantastic, friendly and personable customer service keeps me going back and recommending others too to this branch.

Had a very pleasant experience at the Broadstone branch. Ms, Coombes was very efficient and informative while carrying out my test and was happy to answer my questions for me. The shop staff were very friendly and once I'd explained what I was looking for the assistant what I was looking for she picked out a pair of glasses which were exactly right. I'm looking forward to getting them soon.
