We deal with large amounts of goods on a daily basis via our physical stores, established mail order website www.rimmersmusic.co.uk and dedicated education sales division with education catalogue (distributed to over 26,000 schools and Music Services all over the country). 
We also have stores on EBAY and Amazon retailing musical instruments.

I ordered a piano stool for a Christmas present for my husband. It was meant to be delivered the next day but wasn't because a security check on my address needed to be done which I was only informed about on the next day even though the lady on the phone said she had tried to ring me the day before. She hadn't as I checked my phone log and there was definitely no call. The stool did arrive the day after that and I immediately noticed a large dent in the cardboard box which had been taped over. It looked like something heavy had been dropped on the box, and someone had just decided to cover it with tape. As I opened the box, whatever had made the dent had obviously pushed right down through the cardboard and ripped into the top of the piano stool, making it completely unusable. I immediately phoned Rimmers who were very apologetic and told me to take pictures and send it off to the returns department. Unfortunately there was no more in stock, so it couldn't be replaced. I did explain that I needed the return to happen quickly so the money could be refunded to enable me to try and source another stool but another day was wasted because the lady in returns told me she was waiting to hear when more stock would be in even though I had told her that I had already been informed there was no stock. This was now a Friday afternoon so the collection couldn't happen until Monday, and it wasn't until the following Thursday that the money was back in my account. The whole process had taken nearly two weeks and it is now too late to source another stool and get it delivered before Christmas, hence the one star review. I would've thought that a quick quality check of items being dispatched would be standard procedure but apparently not. The experience has put me off ordering from Rimmers again and I am so disappointed that they have spoilt my husband getting his Christmas present.

Terrible service. I attended their store with intention to purchase a keyboard as a Christmas present for my daughter. I wasn't allowed access to the store and advised to buy it online. Fair enough, I thought, Covid issues and all that. So I found the item and went to checkout. I was offered the opportunity to have it delivered to a different address than my billing address. It was a bulky item and so I opted to have it delivered to my mother's address. Less chance of my daughter being in while it was delivered. Confirmed payment, the transaction went through and I received a confirmation email that Rimmers had received the money and delivery would be made the following day. An hour later, I received an email. For a whopping (I jest) £115 transaction, Rimmers now decided that delivery must be made to the billing address as they are at risk of the payment being "charged back". A refund was arranged which may take up to 48 hours to process and a further 5 days to received, basically I won't get the money until after Christmas Day. The whole thing is a shambles. Why offer the choice of a separate delivery address and why take payment for an order they had no intention of fulfilling. Hi I do apologise if you are disappointed. We didn't reject your order due to the alternate delivery address, it was due to 3d secure not having been successful which does mean the payment is insecure. We did offer you a solution to this so that we could have sorted the order out for you. We do also have a contact number and email clearly displayed on our website. We have refunded your payment immediately, it is out of our control how long the bank takes to get that back to your account unfortunately. Regards Cathy

NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY !!! after ordering a new roland drumkit for £1249. from rimmers ..claiming it would be ready next working day .it took a week to del, Minus a foot pedal after much emailing back and forth , only to find they sent TWO different frameworks !!! never answered their phonelines and bad aftersales ...please beware and expect a rotten service.....should be called Rotten Music ?

Hi We do feel this review is unfair. We tried really hard to look after this customer and gave a free of charge upgraded pedal. With regard to the stand, we have given the customer information to contact Roland, the supplier as they have confirmed we have supplied the correct stand. We have a voicemail system and always call people back quickly if they leave a message. I would suggest never dealing with this customer. Totally unfair and unreasonable. Regards Cathy

I few months ago I ordered a keyboard from Rimmers Music it was supposed to be delivered by the end of the week, however it did not arrive until the next week. The customer service was really poor considering the value of the product I was buying. They do not even provide a number to phone if you have any problems and only replied to my emails at 5:30PM (probably at the end of their work day). I still haven't heard a response or apology from them with regards to my most recent email (about a month ago).

I purchased a Boss Waza Air headphone set to find that it disconnected eveytime I used it and wished to get a full refund. I spent £20 in postage to return it only to be informed no disconnecting was found by their technician and subsequently my refund was refused only to then have to spend more more to get it back.

Purchased online a mexican fender stratocaster that had a poorly made whammy bar which got stuck in the bridge while fitting and snapped while I was trying to unscrew it really without applying much force at all. I have absolutely no doubt I was doing it correctly as I fitted many before without issues. When I called the shop, the person on the phone was very friendly and said I shouldn't worry as the same happened to him and that I should just email the returns department which will sort it out for me. However there I faced a brick wall as they simply turned their back on me saying it's not covered by the warranty. So the shop basically refused to take any loss, further suggesting they could offer me good prices on parts needed for repair. Now I find that irresponsible and wicked.

I was disappointed that the keyboard I purchased as a gift was sent out in the product box without any other packaging, and the box it comes in got damaged in the post. To give this as a gift is a shame as the damaged box has made it feel "used" and cheap. Rimmers said that the packaging is just there to identify and protect the product, however for a gift you would expect to give it to the person in the original packaging, and therefore a damaged and ripped box is not ideal.

Very disappointed with Rimmers customer service. I bought the piano with chipped key and was phoning them first no answer. Then sent couple of emails and only replied after my third one. Then said it is classified as an accidental damage not covered by warranty and that I responded late!!! required video from the day of unpacking the piano when there is no obligation to do so when a customer buys something. Terrible. Don not buy from this shop. Not recommended at all.

Hi You didn’t contact us until 14 days after you received and built the piano,. We didn’t ask for a video, you said you had a video of you opening the piano showing the key chipped, which you were then unable to provide. We then contacted Kawai who confirmed this must have been accidental damage and were unable to replace on that basis. We did supply details for someone who could repair it for you Regards Cathy Cathy

Beware - very bad customer service. Halfway through completing an order for my first piano (which I was very excited about) I was told I would be contacted again the following morning to complete the purchase. When the next day arrived, no contact was made and the price on their website had shot up by over £200! After attempting to reopen our communication line during the afternoon, I was eventually told that they could no longer honour the price that was listed on their website yesterday. Needless to say that this was very disapointing, and I felt completely undervalued as a customer. I managed to buy the same item from another seller, for a much cheaper price, a couple of hours later with no issues at all. I may have dodged a bullet by not completing the order with Rimmers Music.

I placed an order with Rimmers on the basis that the instrument was in stock and available for dispatch within four working days. Not only was that not true and they didn't have the item in stock but they have advised first of all a week for obtaining the item, then a month, then today (after 42 days since the order) I am told it wont be with them (not me) until the end of June at the earliest. Whilst I appreciate there are problems getting the item in stock due to COVID 19, the problem here is incorrect information on the website and a lack of customer care. I have had to do all the chasing of this so far and today (again, day 42) is the first time they have bothered to contact me themselves without chasing. To add insult to injury they have charged me an extra 20 quid for a delivery that hasn't happened just because I live in Northern Ireland (thats still the UK last time I checked.) Not happy at all. Once this order arrives I will not be using them again and would urge anyone thinking of placing an order with them to seriously consider going to another retailer.

This is out of our control, our supplier is struggling to obtain stock at the moment meaning the date has moved several times. We 've tried our best to update you. The delivery charge to Ireland is what our carrier charges us. We can't ship it free as we don't have enough margin in the product. My stool arrived abused and smashed up. There phone line doesn't exist and emails I don't get response. im hopeing its the lock down the reason no response. I feel robbed of hundreds and left with damaged goods. I wont be getting the rest of my studio and musical instrument and equipment here I liked the stuff they have but wont be able to purchase more and im waiting for other compaines to get the same products in so I can go with who I trust. Id advice as customer to never use DPD, Disrespectful underpaid staff with no respect for peoples belongings.

I bought a lovely piano stool for 200 pounds but its been smashed up, still heard nothing back. When I'm not 200 pound down and have a stool, five star will be given but right now im devastated with now response and I don't have 28 days to wait then argue about it when its passed the carriers report date. just been sold damaged stock, gutted. sneaky driver took pictures of none damaged side on delivery. He should be sacked. for playing a snide game

Terrible service. I have still not received my next delivery of a keyboard purchased for as birthday present 10 days and five days after the birthday. Very terrible. Contacted them last week and reply was simply chase TNT up we paid for a next day service. contact us again if you need help!!! No will chasing up from their end! what a waste

Rimmers Music has the absolutely worse customer service I've ever encountered, to the point that I started worrying that I might have been scammed. It took me nearly a month to receive my synthesiser; but worse than the wait, absolutely all my attempts of communicating with them (4 email messages, two attempts of phone calls, and multiple tweets) went unanswered. All I receive from them were automated messages, including one asking me to leave a review here but to please contact them first if my review wasn't fully positive (oh, the irony). I would recommend everyone to stay away from this company at all costs. No small price difference is worth dealing with these scammers.

I ordered an item from Rimmers and unfortunately my partner gave slightly the wrong address. DPD (the courier) do absolutely nothing to help as Rimmers must advise them of any changes. This means I rely on the company that has my money (Rimmers) to either pick up their phone or reply to their emails. That has not happened. Very happy to take your money but absolutely no follow-up. The item purchased was on Amazon for £10 extra. Next time I will be sure to order from them.
