We deal with large amounts of goods on a daily basis via our physical stores, established mail order website www.rimmersmusic.co.uk and dedicated education sales division with education catalogue (distributed to over 26,000 schools and Music Services all over the country).

We offer delivery and collection services for all products to make the process of getting your new instrument and part exchanging your old instrument easy. We use next day delivery and collection services for most items, via various courier companies we have accounts with.

Via these couriers we give tracking information for timed delivery slots (in most cases). We also sell specialist items that require an additional level of delivery service, items such as acoustic upright or grand pianos. These specialist delivery items are delivered by our trained team of experts who know how to handle items of this nature, are fully insured, professional and give our customers the installation with the care and attention they deserve.

My interaction with the people behind the franchise was limited so I will not pass comment. I bought my piano through the web so my minimum expectation would be that it would be delivered to my home as detailed on the site, the next working day. Unfortunately, I received 3 of the 4 parts of the piano in the time advised. The forth, the main part of the piano, arrived late thus spoiling the surprise gift for my wife. As a service provider, Rimmers failed their stated minimum service requirement hence the low score. The piano speaks for itself. Roland LX706. Well made. Sounds great.

Hi I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed in the service you received. I've had a look into the tracking info on your order and can see that the missing component was delivered on the following working day at approx 10am. We did also help to keep you updated and chased the missing component for you. We do have situations outside both our own and the couriers control which do result in consignments being split (due to the large size of some of the items). We do say quite clearly on our website that we are unable to guarantee next working day delivery (as this is impossible to offer and fulfil on 100% of occasions) although our figures do tell us that 96% of deliveries do get there within that time. We would always suggest to our customers if ordering online for a special event that they allow some leeway in order that it doesn't cause any upset to that occasion. Emailed to confirm that I didn't want the fitting service; which was very expensive, after agreeing the delivery date in a prior email. The day before the delivery date I was asked to confirm the delivery date, which by that point was too late for the original delivery schedualed for a Friday, meaning the earliest delivery would be the Monday. This meant that I no longer had time to receive and build the piano and the box had to sit in the middle of my lounge for over a week while I was away with work. Very inconvient. The customer services rep denied receiving the email regarding delivery date, but then said he had it after I sent proof of delivery. So not great overall.

I ordered a Piano on the 19th of December as the website stated next day delivery if ordered before a certain time (which I did) its now the 27th and I still don't have my Piano. I understand December is a busy time for couriers and Royal Mail strikes probably didnt help but I feel mislead that next day delivery was advertised on the website at this time if they couldn't provide this service. My daughter still hasn't got her Christmas present.

Next day delivery turned out to be 2 day delivery. That was a shame. No explanation. Product ok but these days you often select a retailer based on how quickly the item will arrive, sometimes even over price.

Hi Nic, According to our records you ordered at 2.42pm on the 15th Nov,(2pm is our cut off for next working day delivery) therefore your order shipped on the 16th Nov and according to the tracking it was delivered on the 17th Nov which was as it should have been. Regards Cathy

They don’t do returns very well. I sent back an item last Wednesday the 22nd. I am still waiting for a refund 9 days later. There is no need for this petty behaviour. I will buy from the big boys in future - I never have a problem from them - they accept that people sometimes don’t like what they buy and change their minds.

Hi Sorry to hear you're disappointed and feel we have behaved in a petty manner with regard to with how quickly your refund was processed. I've checked and we received your item back on the 23/09 and we processed your refund 5 working days later. Our terms and conditions do say that we will process refunds in up to 28 days; we have done that much more quickly than that Regards Cathy

Ordered two items from them. The order was declined due to "The address you have entered for the card do not match the card issuer records making this an insecure payment.". However the billing and delivery address match the one I have in my bank. I've reached out to ask whether this check is done automatically only or is reviewed by person too. My question about why it was considered incorrect was ignored by the customer service (Cathy). So either their checks are incorrect, or a different writing of the address leads to a system declining the order and is not reviewed by a person. Both of that doesn't seem correct to me. This is the first time I encounter anything like this here in the UK, and it is quite an unpleasant experience. Now I need to wait for the refund as well as search for another store to order the items. (I will not gamble again with this store on declining or not my payment method).

I ordered a effects switcher from the web site that was shown to be ‘In Stock’ however I received an email the following day reporting they had sold out, new stock due in 7-10 days. Unfortunately it took 16 days to arrive and the only communication from Rimmers was in response to my complaints and they were so slow to come I had already started to get my money back through PayPal. Unlikely to use Rimmers again.

Didn't spend a huge amount but just over £500, As the item was delivered with zero information I asked about the 30 free lessons (as advertised) & warranty I got no response for six days via reply email! I then messaged via their site service & got a very abrupt reply! No apology for late reply or a thank you for purchase just a link..! The delivery was ok but customer service is non existent...very poor

I have not received my order. I Tracked through DPD and found That you had addressed the parcel to 23 and not 26 as stated in the order. I have asked for the parcel to be delivered to the correct address on the next working day, fingers crossed it will arrive this time. Not impressed.

My first order through Rimmers and really wanted it to support them. My order was not held in store though. It was not made clear enough that 'next day delivery' and 'your order has been dispatched' really means 'we've passed your order to our suppliers and it'll take 3 days to get to you' Missed a gig as a result 8-( Calling them about this directly and they were very good on the phones, called back, chased supplier etc, although a little inconsistent about order status Forget trying to email them though, zero response and felt like the support issues were not being prioritised or were being cherry picked. I'd like to rate the higher as they seemed like genuine and nice people, However compared to competitors, and for professional musicians this was was not up to scratch.

Not exactly as described, so not happy with it. . The stand was ment to be XX frame, instead an X frame received. Boxes with frame and bench came extremely damaged. Although the Yamaha p-45 box was maybe not in perfect condition, but piano was well secured inside, so as far as I can say it seems to be working fine. Also, the received frame is uneven on one side, so no matter where it stands I have to put something under one corner to keep it steady. Also, the frame is way too wide for this rather slim piano.

went to rimmers in Edinburgh for advice on buying a portable keyboard for my 7year old granddaughter for a christmas present no help at all did not seem to know much,the cheapest they quoted me was about £160 just for keyboard did not mention about beginners bundles you see on line

Liked the violin nicely made but badly let down by the poor quality cheap strings. When tuning the violin the E string snapped before I even had the chance to play. I had to purchase a complete set of new good quality strings which added a lot to the price of the instrument. Very bad

I was pleased to be able to order a book of sheet music. The web page said delivery next day for orders taken before 4:00pm. Several days later I read more of the small print. They seem to find orders of less than £25:00 rather inconvenient. It arrived a week later. Disappointing.

This customer has not read the details on the product, his order, the email we sent, or the tracking information update. At every point is says to "expect your order within 7 days" and we use Royal Mail second class mail for music books to keep costs down for our customer on small value items. He got the item in 4 days. This review is completely unfair, the customer either cannot read, or has not looked at all the information given to them at all? This review should be removed as its the customers mistake not ours!
