Rimmers Music (Est.1978) has an excellent reputation and is regarded as one of the best Musical Instrument Retail Company’s in the UK.

We deal with large amounts of goods on a daily basis via our physical stores, established mail order website www.rimmersmusic.co.uk and dedicated education sales division with education catalogue (distributed to over 26,000 schools and Music Services all over the country). 
We also have stores on EBAY and Amazon retailing musical instruments.

We offer delivery and collection services for all products to make the process of getting your new instrument and part exchanging your old instrument easy. We use next day delivery and collection services for most items, via various courier companies we have accounts with.

Via these couriers we give tracking information for timed delivery slots (in most cases). We also sell specialist items that require an additional level of delivery service, items such as acoustic upright or grand pianos. These specialist delivery items are delivered by our trained team of experts who know how to handle items of this nature, are fully insured, professional and give our customers the installation with the care and attention they deserve.

We have established Rimmers Music Schools at each of our branches with hundreds of satisfied students of all age groups from 5 years old to 95 years old. Our music studios are purpose built by us and fully stocked with the latest equipment for you to use. We are also London College of Music and Rock School examination centres (and are highly respected by both), although taking exams is optional. We want you to have your lessons and enjoy them, some people like exams some don’t, we will teach you at your pace in the styles you want to learn, or take you through the exams of your choice. Rimmers Music has the absolutely worse customer service I've ever encountered, to the point that I started worrying that I might have been scammed. It took me nearly a month to receive my synthesiser; but worse than the wait, absolutely all my attempts of communicating with them (4 email messages, two attempts of phone calls, and multiple tweets) went unanswered. All I receive from them were automated messages, including one asking me to leave a review here but to please contact them first if my review wasn't fully positive (oh, the irony). I would recommend everyone to stay away from this company at all costs. No small price difference is worth dealing with these scammers.

I ordered an item from Rimmers and unfortunately my partner gave slightly the wrong address. DPD (the courier) do absolutely nothing to help as Rimmers must advise them of any changes. This means I rely on the company that has my money (Rimmers) to either pick up their phone or reply to their emails. That has not happened. Very happy to take your money but absolutely no follow-up. The item purchased was on Amazon for £10 extra. Next time I will be sure to order from them.

Ordered a case from them, received confirmation of order with delivery date, requested delivery a day later than informed, received confirmation of new day, THEN NOTHING APPEARS ON THAT DAY ! Spoke to them and promised an immediate update of tracking and a return call, NO CALL BACK ! I then called them back and told I would get a call and in the conversation they mentioned their suppliers name! Still awaiting a call from them decided to call their supplier who told me that they had not received an order from them and the case was not in stock, I called Rimmers back informing them that they had no record of an order at their suppliers, also informing them that they had no stock to send out. In business a companies worth is how it responds to a problem ! For myself my inconvenience of waiting around for a full day of my life and my wife having to make alternative arrangements to get to and from work means nothing to Rimmers, I suggested and requested they order from my normal suppliers of musical instruments themselves seeing as they had my money for a week but they refused and only made a refund, do yourself a favour and order musical instruments and all accessories from https://www.thomann.de/gb/index.html where I have never had any problems over many orders and now ordered what Rimmers couldnt supply after taking my money, I fell into this trap as Rimmers were £8 cheaper NEVER AGAIN

We re extremely surprised to see this review as we went to great lengths for this customer. He wasn’t in to accept his delivery and asked us to alter the delivery address which we simply couldn’t due to the risk of fraud. He then asked us to return the piano to us which we organised, he then changed his mind and we re-diverted the piano back to the original delivery address. We really didn’t do anything but try our best to fulfill this order to the best of our ability. We re really disappointed This review has been posted. Cathy

The goods arrived in good condition but there were so many problems with the delivery that I will not be doing business with Rimmers Music again. I had to drive to TNT's depot 25 miles from home and I spent about 30 minutes on the phone before DPD would deliver guitar strings through my letterbox. Rimmers have not replied to my complaint email either.

Hi We re sorry that you were disappointed with your delivery. As per our conversation we ve had, I have explained that we believe that we use the best possible couriers in the marketplace. Unfortunately it does go wrong on occasions. We do have a do not leave safe policy which is due to security but we could have over ridden that for you in this instant had you let us know, then you wouldn't have need to make the drive. Very bad service. My piano arrived 3 days late. During those days I waited in my house from 8am to 6pm with Rimmers Music promise that I would receive it and every time Rimmers Music failed to deliver it. They offered me a compensation and when I calculate the money I lost for my waiting time translated in working hours they simply sent an email where they said they couldn't do that (or anything really) because my piano was not expensive enough. It was very disappointing.

Hi We did our absolute best to help with you delayed delivery back which was back in August and we did offer a gesture of goodwill by way of apology. Deliveries do get delayed from time to time and although we will always do our best to help, it is sometimes out of our control. We do recommend that if a particular day delivery is particularly important that they upgrade their free delivery from a courier delivery. That way we have total control of the day and time, and there is no question of a delay or disruption. Regards Cathy

I ordered a yamaha digital piano from rimmers music the first one arrived on time but had been completely smashed on the left hand side. I then asked if with the return I could get the pedals and stand with the piano taking the price to around £600. They claim they gave me a discount but was very minimal and said it would be delivered the next day, that day came and went and I heard nothing, I phoned the delivery company and they said it hadn't arrived early enough for dispatch and that it would be delivered monday (3 days late) the driver then left 3 boxes of extremely valuable equipment on the public path outside the ground floor of my flat. The driver offered to help me carry it up to my 2nd floor flat which I said would be great and then he said he's 2 hours late and drove off leaving £600 worth of stuff primed to be stolen. Thankfully it wasn't but I won't be using rimmers music again or tnt as both are to blame for a piano I ordered well over a week ago. (don't believe the next day delivery) Really disappointed with them missed a music lesson meaning I'm £50 out of pocket and when I spoke to them about it they simply refused so cheers for everythig

Ordered and paid for an item, only to be told it was out of stock. Update said 3-5 working days, but this was extended to two weeks. This item should have been marked out of stock as soon as I ordered it..not good for business Rimmers. Poor service.

i had missing item from my order(two items total, so hard to miss), i had to wait extra days for them to send me the missing part of my order. I had to waste my time to get the item i paid for and this was my first and last order. Such a mess to send guitar in the original unopened box, when the order has other items on it, how can you miss putting them in is beyond me. Very disappointing.

Bought an amp , which I found cheaper in multiple other places the next day (should have looked before buying really) . I then asked Rimmers to price match it . I had numerous emails from several employees aking about the cheaper prices and where they were . I provided 3 examples . They then refused to do a price match ... weird . In short .... do a google search before buying

I ordered a Roland electronic drum monitor. It was delivered on time but there were two dents on the speakers. I called and also sent an email to Rimmers music and I still have not had a response. It’s been 2 weeks.

Mr Plu I am so sorry you are unhappy with the situation with your piano. We have done everything within our power to resolve this for you. As the Kawai expert who visited your piano has certified your piano not to be faulty we have to rely on him as an expert. However, we still have offered to still take your piano back, but as it is a specialist removal item and requires 2 people, we need to charge for that collection service. As we have also explained you are welcome to arrange your own transport if that is more cost effective and the piano can be transported safely. Sorry but no option to give 0 stars so had to give 1,Ordered a guitar online in stock for next day delivery,emailed saying no stock but can get it in 3 to 5 days,rang up and confirm that it would be 3 to 5 days not 3 to 5 week like some places say,yes our suppliers can get it to us in 3 to 5 days,4 days later email saying unable to get it till june,now emailed to say it will take 3 to 5 working days for my money back, what a joke this place is, keep clear, A big thanks to rimmer for endless promises

Hi Simon I’m so sorry you re disappointed. As we discussed on the phone were showing stock that we then found wasn’t available. We then as checked how quickly we could get a guitar for you and our supplier advised 3-5 days. We passed this information on in good faith; however we we chased this up when it was due, we were then regrettably informed of a much longer lead time, which was beyond our control. Hi We re so sorry this has gone wrong. We shipped your strings when you ordered them. They were a specialist one off item of stock. We had no knowledge that you hadn't received them until you notified us. We have launched an investigation with our courier (we use DPD rather than the postal system as we find them more reliable ) It appears your item was lost in transit. As soon as you have let us know you had not received your order we have issued a refund as we are unable to source further stock of this item. Please do accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Packaging was dreadful full of Tesco bags. No e-card with the keyboard to download music. No response from the email we sent on the day of delivery stating the above

Extraordinarily bad customer service. Such a shame. Waited a month for my "Next day delivery" with very little contact from Rimmers, no response to my email, offered £30 compensation on this £500 purchase which was intended as a Christmas present. Eventually accepted for a refund. Had a good price online so thought I would try a new supplier. I will be going back to my usual and very reliable audio supplies company and won't be using Rimmers again.

I thought I would support my High Street store by purchasing my grandsons Mini Squire Strat guitar, cost £125. Cheaper on the internet between £11 to £15 from several suppliers. My first visit they ordered the guitar of which I paid in full. However, on collection the Store Manager sorted the invoice etc. I asked him politely would there be any chance of a free plectrum. ‘No’ was the answer as he smiled and said we don’t give anything for free. What is the cost to them, maybe 50p, a £1 at most. Thanks for nothing. Never again!

This feedback is bit unfair. As they have stated we were over £10.00 cheaper than the nearest competitor. They purchased the guitar from us and them asked us to give them £1.00 of extra goods at the till for free. Our staff were very polite but had to say no. Its like going to ASDA paying for all your shopping and then saying can I have this bar of chocolate for free, what do you think they would say? This feedback is not reasonable.
