We deal with large amounts of goods on a daily basis via our physical stores, established mail order website www.rimmersmusic.co.uk and dedicated education sales division with education catalogue (distributed to over 26,000 schools and Music Services all over the country).

Via these couriers we give tracking information for timed delivery slots (in most cases). We also sell specialist items that require an additional level of delivery service, items such as acoustic upright or grand pianos. These specialist delivery items are delivered by our trained team of experts who know how to handle items of this nature, are fully insured, professional and give our customers the installation with the care and attention they deserve.

I travelled by train from Liverpool to Southport in the pouring rain to see some keyboards but the shutters were down and no lights were on. The website says they are open!!

Guitar arrived virtually unplayable with very high action. Also a very noticeable imperfection in the wood which was not shown in the photographs or mentioned in the description. Cost me £40 to have the instrument properly set up and would have cost another £40 to return. Would not buy from here again or recommend to anyone.

Hi Dennis, I'm sorry you have felt disappointed with your guitar. I've looked into your review and spoken with our expert who listed your guitar and photographed it. Our opinion of the guitar was that it played well and was fantastic value for money. The new price is approx £600 and it was listed @ £379. We took extensive photos of the guitar and would always endeavour to highlight any problems with the guitar, otherwise its a waste of our time listing it, so we are surprised to hear your comment ref the wood. Setup is of course an area of personal preference and peoples tastes can differ entirely. Kind regards Cathy

Rimmers give the impression of caring about their customers up to the point of sale, but their after sales care is the worst I’ve experienced. I decided to spend a large amount of money on a piano, and it has been a disaster from the moment I made payment. The matching stool advertised was missing and I was given a modern one which does not look right with the piano. When I phoned a couple of days after delivery to say I had regretted the purchase and asked for a refund or exchange I was spoken to in a hostile and rude manner which led to me giving up on asking for assistance. When I went back again to plead for assistance in exchanging the piano for a more suitable model, I was told that would be fine and to go into the store to choose. I did as instructed and spent a long time choosing an alternative. I was then told Rimmers wouldn’t exchange after all and to sell privately. I explained to customer services the impact the stress of this was having on me and after being challenged and again treated with no care a reluctant offer was made to accept less than half the what I had paid just a few months prior, with the expectation that I also spend more towards the alternative. I have been left ignored now and losing money on private sales listings. The treatment I’ve received has been appalling given the amount of money I spent. I would never buy an instrument from this company again.

Hi I'm sorry to read this review. We tried to help you with your situation as best we could. Firstly, you purchased your piano in March and didn't make a request to return the piano at anytime. You did enquire about exchanging your piano as we understood from you you felt it was too big for your home. This was after your cooling off period. We suggested you choose a potential alternative to explore part exchanging your piano, but the costs to re-move your grand piano would have been extensive for you. We therefore advised in good faith that you look into selling your piano privately. You then contacted us again as you weren't happy to sell the piano privately, so again we pointed out the costs for you to re-move the piano (as we would have needed to ship from Edinburgh to Lancashire) which I understand from this review you aren't happy with. You haven't been ignored, you haven't answered my email to you from the 9th November which you appear to have received as you say you aren't happy with the price we have indicated to exchange. We are disappointed that you feel the piano isn't right for you, but it isn't our responsibility to check that it fit into your room. With regards to the stool, we have an email chain where we explain the issue with the stool and you were perfectly happy at that point. We are a reputable company and if we haven't given the service we should have will always endeavor to make things right for the customer and are happy to say if we a situation is caused by us. Phoned a week ago about a keyboard that had just arrived because I was having trouble, got through to message machine and said could someone contact me ASAP. One week later no phone call. That's what happens when they have your money. Gear 4 music for me in the future.

Firstly no one is returning my calls! No mention on website that customer has to assemble the pianos? I had to help TNT delivery driver carry in the heavy piano despite being 67 years old! Why are assembly instructions hidden at back of manual on page 45 under appendix? They should be listed in index or in 'setting up your piano' section.

Hi If you leave a message on 01772622111 we will call you back on the same day at the latest. All pianos up to a certain size and weight are self assembly. We do have videos on our site to help with the building process which is really straightforward. We also have info on our site whereby you can pay an extra delivery fee for a specialist 2 man delivery if a customer feels they would want that, but this is unusual unless the piano is of a certain size. We do also let customers know that TNT is a one person delivery service and customers may need to help. In order to keep the prices as they are, the majority of our customers do go for that option. Rimmers music .CO.UK do not deliver to northern ireland because, "There are no couriers available in your chosen country"... That COUNTRY is the same as yours, the united kingdom. Unbelievable... Except those mainlanders love treating northern ireland like we are not part of the same country. Bravo

Hi Sorry if you aren't happy with the message you received. Unfortunately we have a limitation on the message that our website offers for deliveries to Northern Ireland. The couriers charge substantially more to deliver to Northern Ireland, which means that we aren't able to offer that area to customers as it isn't viable. Kind regards Cathy

What went wrong? Should never have gone near the shop in the first place. Should have followed my instinct and walked away when they asked for a deposit on equipment in stock. Dreadful service from unconcerned and less than friendly staff. Will never, ever go near Rimmers Music again.

First the positives: I got my piano The next day it was packaged properly and when set up sounded great. Unfortunately there was a dig in the kick board which then started a long affair with emails and photos, accusation that I had done it myself and finally having to wait longer than needed to get some componsation. This dig must have been let go in the factory because the box was sealed. So Korg hang your head in shame

Ordered a ~£2k digital piano for next day delivery. It was a day late, and delivered damaged. There was a dent and half the keys made a thumping sound when released. It took over *two months* to get a refund. Comunication was terrible. I don't think I would trust these people again. Huge inconvenience.

We do apologise, we are experiencing delays with regard to both stock availability and repairs too. We did give you the option to have a refund or have a replacement, as soon as we received your item back, we refunded you. If you have a job and can’t collect your parcels during the day don’t buy anything from this shop. They require a proof of identity to show to the driver and don’t allow to leave the parcel in a safe place. If you want to cancel the order they will charge you for extra money. A proper scam. Be careful!!

We sell high value items so for security it does mean that we have to deliver the item rather than leaving it somewhere insecure. Couriers do usually deliver during the day, but if you are at work we do offer a Saturday delivery option or you can get shipped elsewhere if you use a secure payment method for doing that. If someone cancels an item because its unwanted, we do charge the return postage for doing that. All of these things are to be expected when buying an item online, there's no certainly no scam. Bought a guitar that had a chip in the paintwork which had obviously been covered up. As soon I turned the guitar over a slither of wood which had been shoved in to cover this fell out. I emailed twice with several photos but received no response.

Hi As per our conversation we don't have any emails that we don't respond to and are extremely responsive to all our contact from customers. We ve been unable to locate the emails that you are saying you have sent other than the one today asking why we hadn't answered you which prompted my call. I understand that you are now going to forward your pictures via whatsapp using the number provided so that we can look into what you are reporting. I can re-assure you if we are listing an item that has any damage, we will go to every possible length to hi-light that issue using pictures and description as it is a total waste of time for us to list something thats not totally accurate, as it will result in a return which is not the outcome we are looking for. I am far from being a satisfied customer (109739) Ordered on Tuesday expected delivery by Thursday 18:00, still had not left Leyland at 16:00 on Thursday. Guitar arrived Friday afternoon however the quality of the lacquer finish around the rear cavity was defective and unacceptable. Rimmer returns responded "Looking at your photos I dont see anything unusual with this model of guitar. This isnt something that has come to us before or any issues with the lacquer. If you were to return the guitar for a replacement this would be the same around the cutout.” I know this guitar is not an expensive top of the range model however this kind of indifference is not acceptable. It is judgemental and uncaring. More important any new guitar should not have a finished defect. I wish to return it but I have been asked for the serial number to pass on to your supplier. I fear this will be a long drawn out process and contrary to your returns information/policy.

Hi We're sorry to hear that your delivery was slightly delayed, we are experiencing some courier delays at the moment due to volumes unfortunately. With regard to the finish of the guitar, we have checked the photographs supplied and advised you that in our experts opinion that this is a characteristic of this model and another of the same model would be the same finish. If we have asked for a serial number this is standard procedure with regard to returning an item and we can assure you we will not treat this with indifference and this will not draw out the process in way. Had enormous problems with delivery and in the end the product did not arrive in time for my son’s birthday. They have acknowledged that it wasn’t good enough however.

We have spoken already with regard to your delivery being delayed. Unfortunately deliveries can sometimes go wrong which is disappointing for us as well as our customers. Most are next working day but this can't be guaranteed. TNT were later than next working day with your delivery and then re-attempted and you weren't in, which further delayed things. As soon as you made us aware of the problem we spoke to TNT and checked that the delivery was made. Regards Cathy

did not match up to the video which said it was simple to load and use . We uploaded when it arrived to laptop and couldn't get it working fully. You would have to be an IT expert to get this thing sorted out. So dissappointed and a waste of a lot of money. Unless your an IT expert don't bother with this.

Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking the guitar I bought out of the cardboard , while keeping in its inner packaging and hid it as it was a present. I wrapped it in wrapping paper and waited for the birthday ( a couple of weeks later) . When we opened the wrapping paper and original inner packaging the guitar was badly damaged . I contacted them but because it had been more than 48 hours I can’t have an exchange or refund even though it’s still in its inner original packaging. Beware of the small print , I thought buying from a reputable company would protect me if they sent out a damaged product , obviously not .

Awfully experience....4 attempts of delivery because of staff' lack of communication. I have an online account with my correct address, they dispatched my amplifier to DPD with incomplete address ( missing flat number) so delivery driver returned the parcel 3 times, A stressful experience, communication with Rimmers Music only through Contact form not phone calls,( not phone number allocated for Customer service), phone calls to DPD every single day, back and forth ....After 4th attempt I am getting the amplifier, again lack of checking before dispatching. Power supply cable has a plug pin broken twisted and broken. Until cable arrive the amplifier can not be checked.

Hi Not fair to write this review, the only reason the delivery went wrong in the 1st place was because the customer had missed their flat number off their order. We contacted DPD to get it amended and it did take a little longer to reach you. With regard to the damaged plug, we immediately sent a replacement. We couldn't have done more to sort this out for you Cathy

Horrible customer service experience. I ordered a guitar for my partner's 30th birthday and received the wrong model. The correct model went out of stock on their website, and they were never able to confirm whether they had it to replace what I'd received. After 24 hours I gave up and ordered elsewhere, and it was only after receiving photos of the guitar and serial number (which was tricky to get as my partner works from home!) that they initiated the return. They offered nothing to make it up to me, it's clear they don't care about future business as a customer. If you're unable to provide stock reports in these kinds of circumstances, you shouldn't be trading.

Hi You haven’t asked us to refund your order according to our records. However if you would like that we will action straightaway. This would usually be requested via customer service@rimmersmusic.co.uk rather than via different review sites. I am unsure what customer complaints department you refer to as we don’t have one as we have very few complaints we don’t require one.
