“At Denson Blake Investments we are proud that we are able to pull up records from any point in time and have kept everything electronically. This is part of what makes the clients we work with comfortable. 12 Days ago I accidentally deleted my hard drive that contained not only pictures but 10 years work, everything I had ever written, created and done, Electronic documents for properties and much more. To say deleting this was a a nightmare was a huge understatement. The moment I realised I went drip white, could not speak and went to find my friend JD, to take the edge off what I had just done. I searched for a data recovery firm and R3 Data recovery came up. I saw they had good ratings and called them at about 22:20, a chap answered and re assured me that all was not really lost. He proceeded to tell me that they have a good success rate. He had to mention they cannot guarantee what they get back. I explained right now I had nothing so anything would be better.. They very quickly got the drive back to me and exceeded my expectations with time, I was kept informed and they were there whenever I wanted an update, clearly they track their jobs well. I received the file back that showed what they had been able to recover it appeared that they had recovered 80-85% of the data. There was a little hiccup with a faulty lead that meant when I first received the drive back it malfunctioned however they were quick to put this right and within three days I had a new drive! Looking at the drive it seems the main casualty was our honeymoon pictures. However I think I have these on a disk somewhere. Upon further inspection of the recovered data I estimate they have recovered more like 90-95% of the data. I am very pleased with what they have done, how they dealt with it and cannot highly recommend them enough. I you have lost data, deleted a drive then these are THE PEOPLE to turn to without a shadow of a doubt. Don't look any further. “R3 Data Recovery are lifesavers without a doubt. In August I thought I had lost everything when my external hard drive suddenly packed up. Stupidly I had only ever saved things to that drive - talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. I thought I had lost thousands of photographs and documents built up over many many years. However, a quick google search put me in touch with R3 Data and there was a glimmer of hope. R3 provided an excellent service and kept me informed throughout the process - very re-assuring and efficient. They were worrying days but it all turned out well and 2 working days later I was sent a file listing all the documents that could be retrieved. It wasn't 100% retrieval but in the high 90s % and that was 90+% higher than I thought I would end up with. Within a week I was up and running again with minimal disruption. Lesson learnt - Backup the Backup. A lesson well learnt ! I would recommend R3 to anyone.”

“I looked at several possible data recovery firms; R3 weren't the cheapest but I liked their straightforward manner, the fact that they seemed to know exactly what they were doing, the fact that they were upfront with the cost, and also only charged a modest amount for the replacement hard drive. In total it took a week (including shipping both ways) - slightly longer than I was thinking it might take - but they contacted me several times to let me know where the process was at. So far as I can see, everything on the original drive has been recovered. I recommend them.”

Hi Jeff Many thanks for taking the time to review. For future reference stick to a good quality branded memory stick. Luckily although yours was a generic memory stick with a failed controller, it was at least the type of construction and NAND chip type that a data recovery lab can read directly from the NAND chips. In general always treat memory sticks and SSD drives the same as any other storage device and back up a second copy of your data to another device. In reality any storage unit can be affected by power and static discharge regardless of how reliable one type of storage may be perceived over another. Andy

“Having discovered my external HD had given up the ghost I thought I'd lost all my family pictures and videos from our Grand Parents to our Grand Children, and all our special occasions and holidays. But no, along came R3 Date Recovery. They calmly told me what could happen and what couldn't happen, including a time scale and an estimated costings. Hi Neville Glad you could pop in and see the lab and meet our engineers. Fortunately your 1TB Seagate model ST31000340AS was successfully recovered despite the heads failing from a knock. Although hard drives are incredibly reliable, as with any storage device it only takes an unforeseen interference to prevent them from working to be an issue. However having one of the best labs in the country on your doorstep in Sheffield is at least a bonus. All the best Andy and the team at R3 Data Recovery

“I must admit that I panicked when told that my hard disc could not be "read" by the operating system - hundreds of images etc., which, foolishly, I had not backed-up! Cue Google, and up came R3. I looked at the website - detailed my problem - and, within the day, I was contacted by one of the staff who talked me through the problem - explained (gently) what he thought had happened, and stated that there was a good possibility of retrieving some of the information. The tower was collected quickly, and despite going for the "cheapest" option, a new external drive arrived back within a few days - very impressive. The "cream on the cake" is that, I believe, everything was retrieved! Any further problems for myself, or my colleagues, is certain to come your way. Excellent service, many thanks, Derek Buckett”

Many thanks for the review Clare I am doing my bit in the UK Data Recovery Industry to ensure we can help more consumers and businesses every year through increasing capacity. Those companies who are declaring drives unrecoverable and over charging for relatively easy recoveries may may make more profit per case than we do, but we are handling more cases every month than any other independent lab in the UK. When we started the redevelopment of Security House a year ago we did not anticipate just how quickly we would outgrow what is one of the largest dedicated data recovery labs in the country. I am now making plans to develop additional lab and administration space during the Autumn and Winter ready for 2016 . “I was devistated when my hard drive stopped working. It had years of family photos that were irreplaceable. Fortunately we found R3 Data Recovery with a quick Internet search. “I can only say that the service I received from R3 Data Recovery was fantastic. They have an extremely calm professional approach rather than the hard sell take your money artists which I will explain first. I had previously sent my drive to another company Rapid Data Recovery who took my money up front, much more than they advertised, and after a week they declared it was impossibly to recover the data. They wanted to throw the disc out but I asked for it to returned which it was. The cover wasn't on the disc and there was a rattling sound coming from inside. I was not impressed. I contacted Andy Butler at R3 Data Recovery who offered to have a look. When they received the disc they reported they opened it up and found a loose screw in the platens and a fingerprint inside. This was not the clean room hotel I had been promised and this just confirmed that Rapid Data Recovery were a bunch of scam artists. NEVER USE RAPID DATA RECOVERY ( If there is a reference website I would be happy for this advice to be posted on) Back to R3 Data recovery. Their service was excellent. They kept me up to date. I was not in a hurry and they took their time to work on my disc when time was available. There task was more difficult because of the abuse the disc had received in the hands of the RDR bandits. Then I had the good news that they had managed to recover most of my family photos. What excellent news. The cost was more than I had expected but I felt my problem had been treated very professionally and I would recommend R3 DATA Recovery to anyone. I hope this of assistance when choosing who to use. It's not a cheap gig - in the order of £500 for recovering the data from a 1TB external hard drive which had been dropped down the stairs, including couriering and a replacement drive - but R3's price seems competitive. “I work as part of a multi-disciplinary team covering design, PR, event management and digital media. We approached R3 when one of our external hard drives failed. They successfully diagnosed the issue and quickly provided a reasonably*-priced quote (*when compared to other quotes that we had received from other recovery firms). The speedy diagnosis and good news that our data was recoverable sealed the deal and within a week, we had our data back. Whilst not 'cheap', we consider it good value for money considering the work-hours needed to reconstruct the data/work that we would have lost.
