We were really happy end amazed about your efficiency of handling my work up until very last stage. Crucial mistake of not sending my recovery data in USB stick, you made us extremely unhappy customer. Which I think it was really shamed.

Absolutely fantastic! Not a straight forward recovery at all, two drives in an old Windows Home Server format with data and architecture split across both. Mechanical failure on one drive and a number of bad clusters on the other. Without any quibbling or negotiation R3 honoured their original quote and had the drives back to me in a quicker than expected time frame. Hopefully none of my drives will fail again but if they do I wouldn't event look at anyone else in future!

I snapped off my USB stick from my laptop and my heart nearly stopped all my accounts and records and lots of other information was on it for my small business (self-employed driving instructor). My daughter found R3 Data Recovery on line and I filled in the online form that evening. I thought it would be the next day when I would get a reply however, within 20 minutes I had Stewart on the phone detailing what they could do and informed me of the cost and any additional cost if they proved necessary. So I knew exactly what the costs would be. It was so reassuring to have someone on the phone who knew what they could and would do. I was informed all the way through the next few days with emails and when it would be delivered back to me and it was within minutes of the start of the hour when the delivery people said it would be. I just cannot thank R3 Data Recovery enough although I am only a small business they knew exactly how important this was to me. I felt like I was their most important customer. R3 did a fantastic job in recovering photos and music files from a La Cie external hard drive which had failed over 3 years ago. Realising some photos were not saved elsewhere, I got in touch with R3, who were recommended by the data recovery service our business uses. R3 not only recovered all files but made the process straightforward with great communication throughout. They were truly a pleasure to deal with.

This review applies to an 'old' Western Digital external hard drive that had the misfortune to fall off my desk and thus become quite temperamental when trying to access the data on it. A quick google search displayed several results (naturally!) but chose to go with R3 as they had a Scottish based office... although I think my drive actually ended up in Northern England!? A courier was used to come and collect my drive which I had packed extremely well to try and avoid any further damage! First reports back weren't good. Told that the drive itself was damaged but they would try to see what they could recover. Several emails and a few weeks later it transpired that the drive needed 'rebuilding' and thus the hunt was on for a donor drive of the exact same make/model. Well - it took quite some time (about 3 months in all) but it would appear that the repair worked as the much newer portable drive I sent away with the damaged one returned home yesterday courtesy of a next-day courier. Today I sat and went through the contents and yes - 12 years worth of photos and documents had been retrieved - along with quite a few MP3's (which I wasn't bothered about but got them back anyway!). While their communication might not be top class the results have leased me completely and have justified the spend - especially to get back all my wedding photos and those from a 'holiday of a lifetime' to Kenya... Thank you R3 for your hard work and perseverance with my drive...

Hi Neil Yes your old WD drive (WD2500JS-00MHB0) was struggling and despite the heads reading most of the sectors a rebuild was necessary. Fortunately we did find the correct donor and although slow to read the sectors eventually we had a complete image of the drive from which to recover the data. Despite the time taken we kept the cost down and focused on getting you a result, this is where we do shine. Total cost in this case was £334+vat including the donor, and a new drive for the recovered data. This was achieved thanks to keeping you on a budget service and using spare technician and equipment time. We are increasing our production capacity and adding more office space to accommodate new staff to improve customer services and handle more calls but our focus is always the recovery. I had lost hope of being able to recover the data lost on my crashed hard drive, without spending stupid money. I was so happy when R3 informed me they were able to recover the data. The whole process was simple and explained well to me and very efficient. I would use R3 again, should such a catastrophe ever happen again - which I hope it won't - and I would recommend R3 to anyone else.

Hi Louise During any periods of spare time we try to clear through as many jobs as we can. You benefitted from the additional production we are building into the lab. Another industry leading data recovery engineer has recently joined us in Sheffield, moving home and family to be close to what is recognised as one of the very best data recovery operations in Europe. Hi Glenn R3-81149 Was actually a Samsung branded Seagate hard drive with failed heads. Fortunately our experienced engineers are amongst the best equipped and we are able to turn most rebuilds around very quickly. It is only very badly damaged drives which take longer. I'd lost all 1000+ images taken on a once in a lifetime cruise and was devastated. I'd tried to recover the files but failed and then discovered R3 Data Recovery on the net and the rest id history. They couldn't have been more helpful and indeed managed to recover virtually all my files from what was probably a faulty SD card. I was delighted to have the images back. Through stupidity I hadn't backed up my photographs on a second external hard drive for over 2 years. R3 did a highly professional job of collecting, recovering and returning the new and damaged hard drives. Their communications were excellent and exceedingly prompt. They were able to recover 100% of the files and I received the new hard drive within a week of my initial telephone call. Although I will, obviously, prevent this situation happening again, if it were to arise I would have to seriously question whether or not I could justify the expense for what were basically images of holidays, family occasions and my hobby of wildlife photography. Having said that I'm very glad I had the option.

Fantastic service, managed to recover all of my data from my HDD. Working in Professional Sport my hard drive is very important to me and was full of videos from the previous season and was very vital to me and our club that we retrived this data. After speaking with R3 Data i was confident enough that they woud be able to do it. Prices are very good was quoted much higher than R3 Data and a much longer turn around time so was very pleased. Hi Richard It is with regret that you feel the communication was poor, and I have to admit in your case it has been a situation which should have been avoided but we were at full stretch at the time. Crucially despite your drive requiring a rebuild and taking up a lot of time in the data extraction phase, indicating it was a drive many labs would have abandoned in favour of easier / more profitable work. It was the sourcing of the correct donor which was the root cause of the issue. Eventually we tracked one down in the US and were able to continue with the recovery attempt. Despite our lab being one of the most productive and cost effective labs, it is only achieved by managing time and costs very carefully. In this situation we actually made a loss on your case having it tie up a recovery channel for over 3 weeks at a time when we were also engaged on very demanding cases as well as dozens of standard jobs. But what sets R3 apart is our willing ness to go the extra mile to get a recovery despite the demands it places on the engineers and lab resources. Think of it like this, many labs faced with your drive would have abandoned and some more unscrupulous types would just charge for the parts and not try to get a recovery. As it was we completed your case on the budget service at the price quoted, I hope you can appreciate in the real world of profit and loss what it means to stick to an agreement wherever possible. Again apologies for the lack of communication but our focus was always on recovery and that was successful. All the best Andy
