I have had to chase on every occasion nothing has been simple… my charger was installed this morning and it has gone faulty… I’m told it will now take a week and a half to fix, I’m really very unimpressed!

I have already emailed a detail complaint of my installation issues and received no response after 3 working days. The quality of workmanship is shockingly bad and permanent damage has been caused to a new unit in many places. The tradesman stated he knew the best place for the installation to be positioned for least visibility and in good faith was left to complete the job. The position of the cables are in the worst place possible for visibility, the outdoor unit is much larger than most units and is now an eye sore as it is so close to the front door and not even centred in the area it has been installed. Screws have burst through the side of a custom made veneered unit as they are too long along with a large hole on the underside due to the poor positioning of the cable. There is already existing trunking that could have been used to fully conceal all indoor cabling and would allow for the outdoor unit to be in a more inconspicuous area. Large amount of damage caused to the plastering also left without being properly repaired. At the start of the process I was also left to inspect my electrical system and send photos rather than having a trained electrician visit the property. I found this part of the process very stressful.

The installer was great. However he didn’t work for podpoint. As a business, podpoint is terrible to deal with. No customer service telephone number, no responsiveness, and they want you to take photos of various parts of your house. Booking an installation was just onerous and when the thing actually arrives at your house, they want you to connect it up to your phone, but that doesn’t work either. Kind of makes you want to avoid buying a plug in car. There’s lots of stuff nobody tells you, like the fact that there is more than one plug for different cars, and more than one type of charger. It’s all very confusing and annoying. I’d wait a few years before buying a plug in car if I were you. Internal combustion all the way for me until I’m sure that we’ve got the infrastructure right.

Very slow to respond to issues caused by the install.

Really poor service. I pre-paid for a charger install in 2017, with an ev grant. Pod point obtained the ev grant and held on to my deposit for nearly 5 years without installing the unit. I had to call and email multiple times over the years and finally got my money refunded without any compensation or sense of goodwill.

I paid and heard nothing for eight days. I chased you and I got a call back a few days later. I was asked to respond to an email about suitable dates for an installation. I responded three times and got the same silence. I called again and was offered a date over the phone to which I agreed. The confirmation email detailed a different date! I was finally called with an on the spot installation. By chance, my wife was at home to accommodate

So I’m two installation appointments in and it is still not installed. Quite frankly what is the point in all the pre work and photos if the engineer isn’t going to install it. I get that my fuse wasn’t what they wanted but there was a photo of it that the engineer said on the drive in that he didn’t like the look of… so why waste our time? The second time we need to do something with our water pipe - again what’s the point in the pre appointment photos. The response in communication on email from Thomas was incredibly slow… then when I didn’t confirm an appointment i am getting chased! … when i have emailed that I can’t make it. Some excuse about my case had changed agent… well forward the emails from Thomas then….

Hi All I ordered my Pod Point and installed it using a local electrician. This part of the process went well. The Pot Point was delivered on time and free as we fell within the 31 March deadline. However, the Pod Point when installed only gives out a 2kw output and not 7kw as promised. In fact the default on the Pod is 2kw. So to get a 7kw output I called Pod Point and was told I would have to spend £170 to fix the problem? After some reluctance on my part I agreed and paid in advance. Living in N Ireland I expected a sub contractor to call and was give a date of the 25 April 2022. No one came. I’ve made numerous calls to Pod Point and they just don’t answer or fob me off. Eventually I got through to a nice chap who is a sub contractor. He made Pod Point aware of my circumstances but to date Pod Point have not called. This really is a scam service. Not having Pod Point calibrated to 7kw is misleading at best. Worst customer service ever. I’m planning to take Pod Point to the small claims court to get my money back. I’m also looking at other charging home points as the bureaucracy surrounding this company is unbelievable Poor show Pod Point and a big thumbs down from me.

Appalling company to deal with. Due to their inefficiency (which they admit to) they have cancelled the order and the grant has been lost. I paid and placed the order in December 2021. They have failed to respond to emails and the promised callbacks from a manager have never taken place.

Very beaurocratic and along delay before installation, which meant that despite placing the order almost a month before the government subsidy expired I still missed out on the subsidy. Lots of unnecessary red tape!!

My cable was installed in a DANGEROUS manner. It took months for them to fit it. It looks and feels cheap. The company have still not resolved the dangerous connection.

Ordered on the 6th April, filled out my home survey on 10th April. Didn’t receive a confirmation email for the form but assumed all was OK. Growing impatient, I emailed but got no response, I also tried Twitter (no response) & after a few long waits eventually got through on their phone line today (19th). Apparently I needed an actual home survey as something wasn’t clear from my self survey. Would’ve been interesting to see when I would’ve been contacted if I hadn’t phoned. Needless to say I cancelled the order & asked for a refund. The lady I spoke to hung up on me mid sentence. Dreadful communication. I get the impression they’ve took on more work than they can handle. Ordered a charger elsewhere.

The engineer who finally installed my pod point was OK, but aside from that my experience was horrendous. It took me months just to get a quote, and then it was badly quoted so the first engineer refused to even start the work. I then had to fork out even more money because the amount of cable needed had been massively underestimated, and after four months of backwards and forwards my pod point is finally installed, but not connected to wifi because they failed to mention that a wifi point is needed nearby. I will now have to buy a range extender if I want to connect my podpoint to the app.

Would not recommend. Took 5 months to get ours installed. Very poor upfront customer service. Only got anywhere after we escalated to formal complaints team.

Got it installed last weds - Only getting 1kw , guy fitting it comments “that’s really low but it should go up”. Call later on, they change the amp setting (why on earth is it limited as default!!) and still no improvement but again told wait and see. Then call again and told must be a problem with the car (put it in a public charger, it’s not the car). Still waiting for a call from the technical team, customer service team are powerless to do anything.

Technician installing the unit was prompt, polite and apparentlly did a nice neat job. However the unit has a fault and will not charge my car. I do not know if this is poor manufacture or installation, but I waited six weeks for you to install a unit that doesn’t work, so I’m no better off than without it! No stars should be an option.

There was very little communication. I could never get through to anyone on the phone and no-one answered my emails. The service was appalling. My pod point was ordered in January and wasn't installed until mid April.

Shocking behaviour. A month since I paid for an install and they still refuse to agree an instalation date. Submited the pre-install questionaire and pictures 4 weeks ago and have been chasing ever since. Four phone calls and 4 weeks later, I spoke to a chap called Solomon who wanted even more pictures before agreeing a date and despite sending those within half an hour he has gone silent. Have just spoken to another operative who says she does not know enough about ti to comment but won't arrange a date. Quite frankly they do not try to do the job, they just fob you off over and over - but they still have my money.
