At first it was hard to get a fitting date after I had paid my money. I heard nothing for 2 weeks but then the installation was excellent. I am very pleased with the PodPoint

I was charged the incorrect amount initially and then frustratingly could not speak to anyone about the grant - pretty poor service

The electrician who came to do the job was most efficient and a very pleasant character, but the build up to his arrival produced considerable anxiety. A lengthy questionnaire was followed by a request for several photos of the car garage etc and then there was a long delay until 3 weeks after we actually acquired the car.

The Pod Point initial phone booking service was tiresome, we took loads of photos and supplied a lot of information. However, when it came to the booking day no amount of photos from us could have changed the outcome, installation that day was not possible due to electrical inadequacies. We fixed the problems but rebooking the installation was really difficult. That said, the installer, Nick Gray was excellent and I can't rate him highly enough, a very nice person who went out of his way to help us.

Whilst I have put acceptable, the man that came wasnt able to go through the set up as he couldnt upload the images you needed due to a technical error and he did say he would call me to finish it off but have not heard anything. Also prior to the man coming, my husband (being an electrician) helps by doing some of the lead up work. Once the man had left, we closed the electric cupboard door as it was open to find the hinge has been broken (it wasnt broken prior to this) so unsure how that has happened

Overall the finished job looks tidy, but disappointed to see that waste not cleared up. (Cable cuttings, brick dust etc.)

Absolutely shocking customer service still haven't received my electrical certificate and no one wants to answer my emails. Called the service line, held on for 30 minutes for someone to take my name and contact details and was told someone will phone you back, if they don't call again call again and we can do it all over again.

I’m pleased with the end result. My installer was first class. I found the explanation around additional work/cost options difficult to understand and we had many exchanges. I felt I was heading for significant extra spend which I was not expecting living as I do in a detached house with very good access. In the end, all was well. Please thank my installer who was excellent throughout.

Installation was great, the installer was on time, polite, helpful and completed the job to a high standard. Unfortunately the ordering and booking process was not as good which is why I have given a total score of 3, if it were just installation day that would be a 5 but the pre process would be a 1 or 2. The ordering online is easy but when it is then passed to the booking team that’s where the service fell down. I had to chase multiple times to find out what was happening, often with no reply to my emails so I had to follow up with phone calls. Pod point are happy to take your money upfront but 2 weeks after taking the money in full they still couldn’t give me an installation date. Finally got through to someone who could help on the phone and got it sorted but it shouldn’t come to constant chasing to get things done. Disappointing!

Installation was excellent but with the small issue of a 12 week delay between laying the cable and completion of kit due to resolving a looped supply issue

Ordering was slick, however i thought the charges for the pre-works 'groundworks' where too expensive. The fitment day didn't got quite to plan, as the fitter couldn't use the conduit that had been laid by the groundworks team to had to get another groundworks engineer to visit. Not used the unit yet as my EV is still on order so can't comment on use. However, i did expect a bit from from the app.

The process could of been smoother is pod point had sent over the survey at the start before payment was made. Also having to chance up a date after everything was sent wasn't what I expected to have to do. in terms of the install the electrician was very friendly and couldn't fault him.

Hi - the actual installation of the unit itself was carried out efficiently. The wiring and attaching to the house seems to have gone well. However when I came to use the unit for the first time it seems the settings were installed incorrectly so I had to arrange for a software override with the Pod Point Customer Service team to be able to charge my car.

It's a premium service as one pays £530 for a 7kW charger (£880 is allegedly the list price, but the government grant of £350 reduces the cost). Bear in mind you can purchase a 7kW charger for £300 - £400 and pay for an electrician to perform the installation and the net cost to you would be similar. So, as a premium service, you'd expect an excellent experience. I think Pod Point are struggling to cope with a rapidly rising demand because, having taken my money and completed the documentation required to enable them to secure the government grant, the automated process seemed to lose interest. I chased by phone and from there the service picked up again - the installation occurring rapidly and to a good quality. The charger itself had some teething troubles which have allegedly been fixed by a software upgrade delivered automatically. We shall see! Overall, a good service and similar in price to forgetting the government grant and just getting a qualified electrician to install a 7kW charger.

First engineer did a poor job. Work was very well corrected by the second engineer. Total installation took three visits and around 9 hours in total
