I recently booked a few days in Laveham via a your website. Unfortunately the confirmation sent to me no details of what I have booked for etc dates, only that I'd booked a something via the website. This resulted in a lot of confusion regarding dates etc. I think there is room for a lot of improvement.

Hello it's confusing for customer when your business has several names. The voucher I was trying to book with is with country hotel breaks. The first two members of you team were not very helpful. It wasn't there fault at least I don't think so but they lacked initiativ we and common sense. Also to tell your customer you are doing your best is not conducive to good business! Hover the next several members on you team seemed more efficient. With better communication and language Slovakia with a smile on there face. This have me confidence that I would get a booking.

Dear Elaine Thank you for your review, although it is very disappointing to receive a 2 star review. We have four primary websites, which are: Off Peak Luxury, Country Hotel Breaks, Cotswold Hotel Breaks and Lakeland Luxury, representing hotels in different regions, with Off Peak Luxury having all our hotels advertised. We feel it makes it easier for the customers if they are looking for a hotel in a specific region or looking for a country hotel. As we are a booking agent with over 240 hotels within our portfolio, we do have to prioritise enquiries in date order to an extent and I can see your enquiry was initially for April and then you subsequently amended the date of arrival to October. Once we received your enquiry, we immediately contacted the hotel regarding availability, as you required a dog friendly room. Unfortunately, the hotel you wanted to book is closed until March, therefore only picking up their emails and voice messages periodically, therefore, it took a little longer to receive a reply from them and get back to you. Having seen offer and hotel details very disappointed when we enquired for treatments to find they have shut this facility at end of October we are going in November. If your jumping in site block contact with hotel you should check before offering deal We paid extra for a superior room on the invoice it just says double room

1. On arrival at the hotel, Farthings, we found that we had NO reservation as I had not confirmed the booking with you and had just assumed that on receiving the voucher and having paid for it, it was all done. 2. Although the hotel was alright, as hotels go, I have had more ‘Luxurious’ stays at ‘Premier Inns' and could hardly class this one in the ‘Luxury’ category considering the price that I paid.

However, as clearly stated on your voucher, this must be redeemed before arrival at the hotel. As you had already arrived at the hotel without making a prior booking with us, there would have been no reservation in place. The hotel contacted us on your arrival and we managed to make and confirm a booking for you whilst you were at the hotel. We contacted you by phone to explain the procedure and believe we went above and beyond to make your booking on your day of arrival ensuring you were able to enjoy your stay. The site allowed us to complete all our requirements but when we came to paying the site froze when we had put in card details. We were therefore concerned that our finances were open to abuse. We phoned and your office and your employee cancelled our attempt to book and made the booking with us on the phone. Andrew Montgomery

I purchased a gift voucher from your website as a gift for my wife, upon booking our hotel and despite meticulously entering the code several times the Offpeakluxury website would not accept it. I therefore rang Offpeakluxury to utilise the voucher, the lady on the phone more than inferred it was my fault that the voucher code didn't work, saying it was probably because I had entered the code wrongly, eventually she accepted the voucher via a reference number. It is a shame that she was quite abrasive, as I have spoken with staff at Offpeakluxury several times and they have always been very polite, this incident will make me think twice before booking again and seek alternative discount booking companies.

Good afternoon Linda, Thank you for your review, although we’re sorry to learn that you were having an issue with your voucher. We have listened to the call record and did not find our member of staff to be abrasive or in any way anything less than professional. When supplying your voucher reference it was confirmed incorrectly, so could not be found on the system. This meant that an alternative way to identify the voucher had to be found, which is when you were asked for your purchase reference number. As no problem could be found with the voucher, it was suggested that possibly the wrong code had been entered by you, as there had been an issue confirming this in the first place. Website and booking process was fine but the £10 booking fee wasn’t clear at all, it was only when I got an email confirming my booking and breakdown of costs that this became apparent. Could have booked direct with the hotel and got the same deal, whilst avoiding the fee. £10 isn’t a lot but of everyone pays this, the website will be making a big profit for very little effort!

Dear Mrs Horn, Unlike many other companies we include our fees in the headline price making the full cost of the hotel stay clear at the outset so there are no hidden charges. There is also an arrow which when clicked on explains the charge in more detail should this be required. We do charge a small service fee to go towards the cost of providing excellent customer service which we know is so important to our customers. Our reservation agents are available by phone and email to provide assistance both before and after a booking has been made, as well as during your stay if necessary. We are confident that our packages, including the booking fee, offer the best value and service however if you should find the same offer at a better rate elsewhere we offer a price match guarantee. Made a booking through this website. Booking form offered opportunity to add specific requests. I requested meal reservation time, spa access times (has to be booked due to COVID-19), additional paid massage times, and enquired about a late checkout on the booking form. 24 hours later, after paying in full, I've received 2 email confirmations about dinner reservations but no communication at all in response to my additional requests. Doesn't really seem like much of a luxury to have to chase up bookings, off-peak or otherwise!

Had hotel booked (and separately spa day for the wife directly with hotel) paid for and confirmed. I even printed everything off as requested to give to the hotel. Next day got a phone call to say there had been an error so the booking was cancelled - had to then get the spa day cancelled. Managed to get another booking in a different hotel but they were fully booked in the spa - so now 1 p***ed off wife.

Dear Mr Moir, As explained at the time, unfortunately we experienced a rare system error which meant your booking could not be honoured by the hotel as they were fully booked. We contacted you as soon as we were made aware of this and searched for an alternative hotel on your behalf. We also offered to check availability of spa treatments at each one. Of course the other option was a full refund. You decided to book one of the alternative hotels and as we had removed the booking fee a small refund was made. Again we offered to check spa availability however you declined. Sadly these situations do happen, though thankfully not very often, and we feel we did everything we possibly could to resolve the matter to your satisfaction. Kind regards Offpeakluxury

Dear Mr Sandars, As you were aware, there was an issue with the address provided for the payment card used which we needed to speak with you about; further to that issue we secured you a single occupancy discount which has saved you £130 from your reservation. Would like to return if the following were corrected: Lift not working(out of order 2 years guests need to know this put off for less abled people.Cigarette buts in unit in porch not cleaned out.Bedroom(attic room) needs brighter lights to read by,bath no none slip mat for showering could be unsafe. Restaurant rather slow items on breakfast table missing,untrained staff?. Generally lack of attention to detail in many areas. Liked Hotel and setting. And would return if these things were corrected

I think it's a rip of we got a voucher for 200 pounds and it hardly covered the cost of any hotels featured, yet we went on booking.com and got an extra night for a quarter of the price.

All the hotel breaks on our websites are specially negotiated to include extras, like dinner, Champagne, afternoon tea, offering "More than just a room". While we're sure the second night of your stay was less expensive through the other agent, it is likely that it only included the room and breakfast. We have lots of offers at hotels which would have been amply covered by the value of your voucher, and would have been happy to provide options for your stay had you contacted us. We are available every day until 10pm on the phone, and can receive emails at any time which will be replied to in office hours. We do hope that we may be able to assist with another stay in the future, simply let us know your preferred dates and area and we can send potential property information to you. Headline price v different from actual price. Described as a 2night stay but the extras, for room upgrade and May booking priced per night, not per stay. This was not very explicit on the website - well, it fooled me anyway

Failing to send me an email confirmation because of a mistake in my email address was not a good start. When giving the address I did make a point of not putting an A in Cremer. On phoning the next day it was soon put right and your staff went out of their way to be helpful.

It was difficult to realise that you had taken over when I entered the Hotels Website. You demanded full payment immediately before carrying out the booking whereas I would have expected a deposit. I have no doubt that you are charging for your "services" which I am sure the hotel could have performed if you had not inserted yourselves. Suffice it to say I don't want to hear from you after my stay at the hotel.

Our branding is clearly shown on all pages of our website, and we have telephone lines manned 7 days a week until 10pm should you have any queries with which we can assist. We do charge a booking fee on some of our hotel stays - this is always included in the price which is given before you start making your reservation, ensuring that our pricing is transparent with no hidden fees added at the end of the booking process like some other agents.
