Good communication overall through e mail, although explaining the switching of the voucher to monetary wasn’t clearly explained, especially when same code is used, also not explained what happens to your change. £225 for hotel, £250 voucher value!

I’m really pleased to hear you found our email communication helpful, but I’m sorry that the process for switching your voucher to a monetary value wasn’t explained as clearly as it should have been. To clarify, when a voucher is converted to a monetary value, the same code is retained for use at checkout, and any remaining balance is kept on the voucher for future use within its validity period. I appreciate that this wasn’t made obvious during your booking, and we’re currently looking into how this can be made much clearer for our customers. We have had a bad experience with the hotel we originally booked as we were notified some time after booking that the hotel was closed on our chosen date, then, having changed our date, the hotel said it could not honour our booking - with just a week to our visit. Toni at Offpeakluxury has been helpful in sorting out our transfer to a new booking, but overall not a good experience.

I tried to book 2 rooms which the website allowed but as it went to the next page your website changed it to 2 doubles. I reset and tried it again, the same thing happened again. I just hope the hotel can accommodate us

Hello Mr Higton, Thank you for letting us know about this. I’m really sorry for the frustration caused while trying to make your reservation. What you’ve described isn’t the experience we want our customers to have. Looking at your booking, the package you have booked is for a Club Double which is why the website has changed the room type to a double. However it would appear that some of these rooms can twin which I think is what you initially requested. I will arrange for our customer support team to look into this and get in touch with you as we want to ensure that the correct room type is allocated. Really too premature to write a review, but the review request has landed already. Only yesterday, I booked a stay away in the middle of August - so still 10 weeks or so away from now - and today I have received a request to leave a review. All I can say is the hotel looks lovely on the website and the booking was simple to place. We have stayed via OPL in the past and everything went well so we hope for the same again. I also note that the questions in the review template are absurd and really relate to a physical product rather than an activity. Anyway, given that really not much has been done so far in relation to this booking, I cannot give OPL a higher than 3-star rating, even if the end experience turns out to be 5-star. What an odd system to request premature reviews and drive the rating down!

All very good but have changed their policy. I understand cancelling at last minute but if you are genuinely ill you cannot change the date of stay! And lose your money!!

Hi Gillian, Some of our packages do state that they're non-refundable and non-amendable, however we do always approach the hotel to ask for alternative dates where we can in these emergency instances. Further to this, if a customer needs to cancel within our cancellation period, they'll either incur a 25% cancellation charge or can choose to be sent a voucher for the full price of their break which can be used within 12 months - if you were poorly or did need to cancel in the event of an emergency, we'll always try to find a way for you to reschedule your break with us. I rang up to book a break, everything went smoothly, but I didn't receive an email confirmation. Spoke to a nice lady the next day about this, and she said the person I'd made the booking with had forgotten to send the confirmation email. That was the only 'fly in the ointment' of my otherwise straight forward booking experience.

Difficult to book as can’t choose a specific town you have to go through the regions. I kept getting booted out and start again. You need an updated website in my opinion.

A few issues with this hotel room not worth the money I paid. The room and toilet very small. Plus got charged £70 for a bottle of Lanson champagne where you can buy in supermarket for £30. The food deal is an absolute con pay £70 up front if you don’t spend all the £70 it’s tough that’s the deal. Plus the two rooms next to us were still banging doors, shouting to each other over the balcony’s till 3.20am not much sleep.

Dear Mr Short Firstly, I am sorry that you thought the hotel room was not worth the money you paid, but I do think it's unfair to label the deal a 'con' . Hotel prices for alcohol are of course very different from supermarket prices, and the per-room dining allowance of £70 is generally covered by a two or three course meal in the restaurant. Again, we apologise that you had a disturbed night's sleep. If you had brought your complaints to our attention earlier, we would have taken your issues up with the hotel. Kind Regards Offpeakluxury

We had a two night stay at a "luxury 4* spa hotel" .....but the "offer" we went for was very misleading and we felt disappointed and a little "cheated". The "inclusive 3 course dinner" was far from inclusive with only 3 of the starters and main courses being included, and even then you had to pay an extra £6 for a small bowl of vegetables and £6.50 for a small bowl of potatoes. The "nibbles" were £5 or £6 and a bottle of water was £5.50. There were many positives and also several negatives but an email to the hotel following our stay was not replied to.

We have looked into this and can see from the menu there are 6 options for starter, main and dessert, with only one option per course with a supplement added, therefore, 5 options for each course without a supplement is an adequate amount of choices to choose from on a menu. We do also advise on the package description that supplements may apply to some dishes. I was disappointed to learn, when looking up the hotel's telephone number, that I could have saved £59, if I had booked directly with the hotel, which is hardly the advertised 'up to 30% off'

Thank you for your review. We have looked into this and on the hotel's direct website, they have an offer that includes £35 per person towards dinner, bed and breakfast, a bottle of prosecco in your room on arrival, and 20% off all pre-booked spa treatments. Our package is the same, but you also receive a cream tea for two on arrival and late check out, as well as 30% discount on pre-booked spa treatments and retail products. The difference is £20 between the two packages, and if you add on the cream tea x 2 at £7.99 per person and the late check out, for which the hotel charges £25 directly, this would take you over the rate you paid through Off Peak Luxury by £21, therefore we are better value for what is included in our package. Also, the discount is up to 30% as the rates offered by the hotel can vary depending on availability. We hope you enjoy your stay. Kind regards, Off Peak Luxury

Booking process is easy to follow. Only problem I have is not receiving the confirmation email but I am receiving the marketing material fine. I did however receive a txt that confirmed booking reference number.

It is very disappointing to see your comments, as the booking was taken by one of our Reservations Agents who sent the booking to the hotel on the day you booked it at 3.54pm and it was confirmed by the hotel at 4.18pm the same day. Confirmation was sent to your email. Perhaps it found its way into your junk or spam folder, which can happen and is out of our control. I shall resend another one to you.
