We had a two night stay at a "luxury 4* spa hotel" .....but the "offer" we went for was very misleading and we felt disappointed and a little "cheated". The "inclusive 3 course dinner" was far from inclusive with only 3 of the starters and main courses being included, and even then you had to pay an extra £6 for a small bowl of vegetables and £6.50 for a small bowl of potatoes. The "nibbles" were £5 or £6 and a bottle of water was £5.50. There were many positives and also several negatives but an email to the hotel following our stay was not replied to.

Thank you for your review. We have looked into this and can see from the menu there are 6 options for starter, main and dessert, with only one option per course with a supplement added, therefore, 5 options for each course without a supplement is an adequate amount of choices to choose from on a menu. We do also advise on the package description that supplements may apply to some dishes. Booked two meals through the website but these were booked at a completely different restaurant. Also local information was not for the area we were staying.

Was quite concerned it took over 2 days for me to get confirmation of my booking, also it was after I contacted them not them contacting me. After my issue was flagged the service was very good.

I was disappointed to learn, when looking up the hotel's telephone number, that I could have saved £59, if I had booked directly with the hotel, which is hardly the advertised 'up to 30% off'

Thank you for your review. We have looked into this and on the hotel's direct website, they have an offer that includes £35 per person towards dinner, bed and breakfast, a bottle of prosecco in your room on arrival, and 20% off all pre-booked spa treatments. Our package is the same, but you also receive a cream tea for two on arrival and late check out, as well as 30% discount on pre-booked spa treatments and retail products. The difference is £20 between the two packages, and if you add on the cream tea x 2 at £7.99 per person and the late check out, for which the hotel charges £25 directly, this would take you over the rate you paid through Off Peak Luxury by £21, therefore we are better value for what is included in our package. Also, the discount is up to 30% as the rates offered by the hotel can vary depending on availability. We hope you enjoy your stay. Kind regards, Off Peak Luxury

Booking process is easy to follow. Only problem I have is not receiving the confirmation email but I am receiving the marketing material fine. I did however receive a txt that confirmed booking reference number.

It is very disappointing to see your comments, as the booking was taken by one of our Reservations Agents who sent the booking to the hotel on the day you booked it at 3.54pm and it was confirmed by the hotel at 4.18pm the same day. Confirmation was sent to your email. Perhaps it found its way into your junk or spam folder, which can happen and is out of our control. I shall resend another one to you. We made a last minute booking & although we eventually got everything we were promised, the hotel didn't seem to have received any information about our offer. We were asked to pay the £164 at reception on arrival despite having paid online, we had to ask at reception for the prosecco & chocolate which were not in the room, the restaurant were unaware of our dinner reservation, we had to ask for the cost of our meal to be removed from the bill.

The response to email queries were good but upon making the final booking I had to speak to a couple of members of your team by telephone. Unfortunately there were some issues with the transaction and I did not appreciate the response that I received from one of the staff. She was abrupt and unhelpful, responding to a request I made with a tone that wasn’t very courteous. All In all I think I could have made the same booking with the hotel direct and avoided the booking fee. Which considering the final element of the service I’m not sure it was worth it. I would think twice about using your services again.

Dear Customer Obviously we are disappointed to receive a 3 star review, and we're sorry the process failed to match your expectations on this occasion. However, having listened to the call, we do not feel the agent was being unhelpful, but was rather trying to be factual in her response and following correct procedure. There are security procedures that must be carried out when card payments are taken. Unfortunately, as your original method of payment did not match the address provided my colleague was unable to process this transaction. The second card provided matched the address and your booking was completed. All costs are shown upfront including our booking service fee. There is no obligation to book with us, and we also offer a Price Match guarantee should you find the same offer cheaper elsewhere (terms and conditions apply). Marketing failure .Lions Quay stay in a ' superior room was disappointing. Very small room, unclean tiles in the shower which was also very small , door required replacing rotten at the base The spa poor, some rooms out of use .All soaped up ,then water went off .Advised to wear robe and walk back to hotel room to shower as the water supply there was on the mains .

The booking was confirmed 45 minutes after you made it online, confirmation is then sent automatically and the review email a short while after (review emails are only sent once a booking is confirmed). Whilst booking our stay, which was a present, we were told exactly how much the present was worth. I don’t think our giver wanted to know that. As it happens we have now been given a credit note for another stay.

Website was very difficult to use, wasted quite a lot of time. Multiple requests to log into account unsuccessful due to apparent problems on your system. Ended up using a different email address to book without logging in.

Had to use the phone as the website bombarded us with cookie demands that were difficult to navigate and in some cases impossible to turn off. Website therefore abandoned as a total pain.

The offers are really good value, the website is easy to use, but we are really disappointed as the inclusive menu for our hotel, showing on the OPL website is very different to the inclusive menu showing on the actual hotel website. We didn't check before we booked. The menu showing on off peak luxury is far superior to the actual menu on the hotel website. We will use OPL again but we'll definitely check the hotel website details and not just trust OPL.

I had a problem booking online as I kept being asked for my email and password I have an account having previously used off peak luxury but although it recognised my email as a customer I couldn’t get past the first stage in the end I had to phone to book my break This problem needs addressed as it is inconvenient and might put people off
