I'm now at the end of a very long drawn out process of communicating with Mango bikes. I bought my single speed around 18 months ago and also bought upgraded wheels, pannier rack and mud guards. The bike was generally good quality for the money although the brakes pads are pretty poor (had to change to better quality pads which largely sorted it out). However, after various attempts to fit the guards and rack I realised I could not do it and tried to return them. I contacted Mango multiple times and they simply did not respond. I got fed up and gave up. After a few months the wheel bearings started to grind. I took the bike to a reputable local bike shop who assessed the situation and confirmed that the bearings did not accurately fit the bike so needed to be replaced (or buy new wheels). I picked up the contact again (phone and email) and generally had a very difficult time getting hold of anyone. When I did get hold of someone They said they would be back in touch with me but never did. I tried again multiple times but got bored and very fed up trying to get hold of them. I ended up buying new wheels, separate guards and racks to the tune of £300. I threw the old stuff in the bin out of frustration (over a year had passed by this point). I felt aggrieved so got in touch again. After much chasing and hounding I was told that I had no right to claim a refund as I should have returned the stuff (!). I explained multiple times that I had tried to contact them and attempted to resolve via the customer service team with no success. In the end I was offered a gesture of a £45 partial refund. So the bike is now 'ok' with me having spend double the original value of the bike sorting it out. The customer service was absolutely appalling. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. So if you want an ok bike crack on but do it with hope as you'll likely never get hold of the customer service team. when they've got your money you won't get it back. Overall a real shame and I feel (as another review has stated) that mango need to invest some proper time in customer service and lay off the instagram pictures

The bike came without instructions of how to accurately assemble the bike, and there was no clear instruction online, except for a poorly made YouTube video. Furthermore, the included wrench was made of very soft metal, so were the nuts of the wheels, meaning that it frequently slipped, leaving the nuts damaged. What's worst is that the 6-spoke front wheel became untrue after just a week of riding the bike, without any accident. Mango customer service didn't respond to my emails regarding this.

I am not impressed with mango bikes. I ordered a few items and when my package arrived it was minus one item and another item had chipped paintwork. When I contacted you about the missing item, I was told it would follow soon as you didn't have it in stock. I feel like we should have been contacted about that instead of having to contact you. I emailed a few more times looking to see if the item had been sent on and was ignored. I feel as if your company spends too much time trying to be cool and write funny emails and sending packets of Haribo when you could be spending time on customer care. More than likely won't shop through you again and sure you know how far a bad review goes through fellow consumers.

Hi Dara Sorry you've had a bad experience with Mango Bikes. Definitely not what we're aiming for. There was a delay in the delivery of the chain tool so we thought it better to send the bike then the accessory later. We probably could have communicated this better so we'll take your feedback and look to improve this. If you can contact us on sales@mangobikes.com about the paint damage we'll do out best to help you get sorted. Thanks Mango Bikes // Andrew

1 month later still nothing back from customer service about my bike which they delivered with a clear fault, bits missing and no instruction manual. I've given up on this company, don't waste your money here.

Repeated attempts to fix the right pedal, now this time the pedals seem to be wobbling (I have video). Also removing and attaching, removing and attaching that pedal seems to have scratched all the black paintwork around the crank arm. Not great. So nearly £400 later I now have a bike with a clicking crank, a scratched crank arm and wobbly pedals. Double not great.

Hi Abdi I see your order number tracks back to September 2017. Since then there's been lots of changes, upgrades and additions to the bikes. We paint frames ourselves, now build with Miche XPress cranksets, have sealed bearing bottom brackets and headsets and a few other top quality parts. We're confident Mango Bikes are some of the best quality and best value bikes available.

Needed a brake lever and Freewheel for customers bike, website said 1-2 days estimated dispatch and next day delivery, ordered parts on 5th January, on 11th was confirmed that items had been shipped, on 16th only 1 item arrived, was unable to contact by phone as kept cutting me off, took until the 26th Jan for Mango to get back to me and asked if I received order after E-mails asking to cancel order as had to source parts elsewhere, on 27th managed to get a refund. For a item I thought would take a few days took 22 days to get refund as unable to supply part. Reason for delay was staffing issues, things happen but was lack of communication from Mango.

Hi Mike, we're incredibly sorry for this. It was bad timing and lack of communication on our side, and whilst our focus was on building bikes your component order slipped through the cracks. I'm glad we managed to resolve everything in the end but apologise that you didn't have the great experience that we'd expect.

It's seems that one star reviews get removed from this site so I will try again, but this doesn't seem to be particularly ethical. Bought my bike in January, on arrival looked nice but on assembly it was apparent that the headset was tight which was confirmed on my first ride when I nearly came off due to the problem with the headset. Number of punctures do to the inadequate tyres provided with the bike and then the spokes on the front wheel started to come loose. One eventually came out. The gears hadn't been set up correctly which I had to sort myself. Mango agreed I could take it to a bike shop to get the headset sorted out. They confirmed it hadn't been assembled correctly and it was dangerous. The paint had chipped off around the headset due to the tightness. Mango did provide upgraded wheels due to the spoke issue which were better for a short period. After a few more weeks bottom bracket went so eventually I was sent a new bike which was fine but recently the rear hub bearings have gone in the rear wheel (water ingress) which I accept can happen but on top of everything else means I have no confidence in the bike. On the new bike the front derailleur was twisted on receipt which I had to sort myself again. The bike is actually great when it works, looks really good and rides well but the constant problems have meant I wouldn't buy a Mango again. This is a shame as I wanted to support an emerging British firm, others have no doubt had a good experience but mine has been pretty frustrating and disappointing. No doubt this one star review will disappear again. 7.3.2017 - Update I have been asked by Mango the revise this review, I have replied as follows - Dear Mango bikes I am afraid I won't be able to revise my review. Whilst some of the support I had was acceptable on a number of occasions it took me a lot of time to try to get things resolved. In essence the bikes I had from Mango were nothing but grief. By way of comparison in roughly the same time period I did 3149 miles on the Mango and with my new bike (Giant) I have done 4189. The Mango was off the road for 3 - 4 weeks in that time (about 5 to 6 months), the Giant has performed faultlessly. Both were roughly the same price. I take no pleasure in taking this decision but my experience with Mango was very poor to say the least, hence the level of review. Regards

Hi Neil, we're really sorry that you had a bad experience with the bike. We hope that the solutions we have now provided for you are adequate. We take a lot of pride in the design and operation of our bikes, and take all feedback very seriously. We have a Point AR rider in the Transcontinental Race this year and another rider travelling over 3000 miles on his Point R.

Really disappointing sales experience - said it would take 6 working days, ending up taking over 20 with no updates or tracking options (I had to keep ringing and speaking to different people to find out what was going on). Then bike itself seems to have issues - frame not completely straight, brake calipers hanging too high... Again, service has been poor; really unresponsive (up to a week to respond to emails), generally responding with more questions than answers. A real shame.

Hi Joel, I'm sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced. I know the customer service team are dealing with this now and hopefully we will have a swift resolution to your problems. Regarding the delays to delivery, we do state the build and dispatch time as an estimated date and work tirelessly to reduce it, however on occasion logistics work against us. I'm sorry you have been a victim in this instance. Thanks for your patience, Mango Bikes
