Overall experience with Mango has been below what I’d expect. The bike frame was damaged upon delivery and had completely different parts on the bike than expected. Customer services responded well however and sent me upgraded parts, specifically a bottom bracket and crankset however only sent half the crankset…still missing the non drive side crank arm. The company seem to have good intentions but every delivery I’ve had from so far has had something no wrong with it. Original bike order took nearly 5 weeks to arrive and I got multiple pushbacks on delivery dates. The bike itself is a joy to ride tho and once I have the full upgraded parts it will be closer to being my dream bike.

I received my bike this weekend. I can't say I'm over the moon. The frame - albeit beautiful - either made its way through QC or was trusted to transit without enough padding, and has three or four full thickness dings down to the metal - photos attached.

Great products and delivery service BUT they don’t reply to messages! Have sent same question to them at least 10 times and not one response!

Everything seemed great at first, ordered the bike and in the creation process they didn't have the wheels that I ordered. They reached out and offered a free backpack if I was willing to substitute the wheels, no problem. However, bike arrived minus the free backpack. Plus the rear wheel they sent is way off true and I had to loosen the brakes significantly to prevent it rubbing. Reached out to customer service for the lack of backpack and the wheel and they've ghosted me.

I bought my bike from mango over 5 years ago and it’s still running. In that time I’ve also bought some tyres and bits to keep it going, on the whole nothing to complain about. Recently the bike needed a lot of work as it had become a big run down. As a change I did want to swap to some of the mag wheels on their site but these were out of stock, I have reached out to them via email and their live chat on the website in availability and never heard anything back from either. Customer service needs work guys.

There were several problems with my order which I will get to shortly, but first, the good: If this review were based solely on the bike, it'd be a 5/5. The bike that I received from Mango was exactly as described, made from quality parts, clearly installed and tuned with care. I had to do nothing to the gears nor brakes out-of-the-box - completely perfect! As you'd expect for a bike of the entry-level price it is, it's all entry-level Shimano stuff, but there's nothing wrong IMO with entry-level Shimano stuff, and it's all brand-new parts. Bolts all seemed to be torqued correctly, wheels were completely true & circular and bearings all felt good. The bike overall feels plenty sturdy but pleasingly light, though I am not someone who is trying to push their bike(s) as hard as possible - I'm not that fit! The paintjob is immaculate and the colour matches of parts made from different materials, while imperfect, are not bad at all. For my bike, I ordered pink tyres, bar tape and pedals, and the match is almost perfect between the bar tape and tyres. The pedals leave a little to be desired on this point, but it's not bad by any stretch. Now, onto the bad. I don't want to rail against Mango here, so I'm going to offer what I think is a bit of useful context. Mango Bikes appears to be a tiny company. Their LinkedIn page lists the company as having 2-10 employees, and there's a post from last year stating that they manage to send out "4000+" bikes per year. Now, I have no way of verifying that this is accurate, however the feeling I get about Mango, from the experince I've had, is that it does seem reasonably accurate. So best-case scenario, with 4000 bikes and 10 employees in a 262 day working year of 8-hour working days, each one of their employees has 5.2 working hours in which to build a bike start-to-finish. Selecting parts, getting the paint done (which seems to be outsourced - so this is more logistical than painting it themselves), building, tuning & testing. That's rapid. But realistically they won't have 5.2 hours per bike: there probably aren't 10 employees, and they cannot all be full-time bicycle engineers. Someone has to do the finances. Someone's got to respond to emails. So.. yeah. The emails. I ordered an OG 8-speed in early May. After the automatic order confirmation, the first contact I had was a couple of weeks later. I was told that their delivery of OG 8-speed frames had been delayed, and that it'd be an unknown additional wait, but offered an approx 2/3 price cut on a DOGG upgrade. Essentially an identical bike, but with disc brakes, for a price that's more than reasonable. Fine, things happen, especially in supply chains in the still-very-much-COVID-addled world. I went for the upgrade. I got given an estimated dispatch date of a week after that (2nd June). That date came and went. I pestered on the 9th of June for an update. And then on the 15th. And on the 4th of July, 2 weeks after I first pestered and over a month after my last message from the company, I finally got an update - estimated dispatch 14th July. Apparently a mistake had been made and my fork hadn't been sent for painting. OK, mistakes happen. I must just be unlucky to have two problems with one order, but a message would have been nice. The 14th came and went and I waited my usual week before pestering. On the 27th I received an email that looked like it came through the sales system (it had all the fancy mango branding that the support emails don't) to tell me my bike was going to ship imminently. On the 30th I got an email from DPD Ireland (Ireland being where Mango is now based) telling me it was arriving *today*. And it did! The day after I got an email from Mango telling me it'd been shipped. So, to summarise my woes: I was left waiting for updates on the bike on 3 separate occasions for more than 2 weeks - and one of those times was almost an entire month, if we take the estimated dispatch as the day I started waiting for an update. My bike was dispatched almost 3 months after my original order. The estimated average turnaround time for OG bikes currently listed on Mango's Bike Availability page is 2-3 weeks. Every communication I had was with Andrew, the owner of the company. Overall, that, to me, gives credence to the notion that they truly do have a small number of employees and that most of them are engineers. I doubt they have anyone other than Andrew managing their email inboxes, the support system & social media. That seems like something of a smart move: the person who has all the power to make decisions becomes the one who knows the most about how people feel about the company. I hope in my communication with him, and indeed in this review that I was being cordial and fair, but also not sugar-coating that I expected better, especially in terms of communication. To conclude: Mango makes quality bikes that are a joy to ride with as beautiful or ugly a colour scheme as you want at an outrageously affordable price. It just seems like there's a high chance for there to be an issue which makes them need twice as long to build the bike as expected, and when there is a problem it takes them between two weeks and a month to respond to an email as well. Maybe move house *before* placing an order. But you'll be happy when it does arrive.

Ordered a bespoke OG bike. It took a month from order to delivery but when I’d heard nothing and chased them up, I was advised they were short staffed with a lot of orders, fair enough. Bike arrived in good condition and was easy to assemble apart from they hadn’t put the Gatorskin tyres on I’d specified and paid for, just had the bog standard ones. With the delay on receiving and even tho I was out of pocket I didn’t make a fuss as I had a spare pair of Gatorskins I could use. I’ve used Mango before and always found them to be excellent so I hope this was just a rare glitch.

I got my bike but no info that it would take 4weeks. Customer service only replies to to every second message. Bike came with the wrong tyres and no response by customer service. But hey they send really Funny newsletters, that’s a huge help.

Really cool to deal with Mango bikes but have only given 3 starts due to the the quality of the product I have bought is in question. Love the handle bar bag but the straps are really poorly finished and after only 1 use the threads are all frayed and the due to the design of the straps they will always catch on the lip of the locking mechanism and will get worse.

The bike itself is quality. But the custom color part was a mess. None of the colors match - 3 different greens and 3 different oranges. The point was to be able to design a bike that looks super custom and matches. This falls very short of that. It looks like a Frankenstein bike with mixed pieces and parts - not very professional. You can get a good single speed bike anywhere- the draw to mango was to customize the colors - but since they don’t match it was a waste. I ordered from over seas and paid extra for this customization and it doesn’t look good. Pretty disappointed.

I was sent an incorrect item. The correct item was sent out a few days later but I didn’t receive any communication at all between me pointing out I had been sent the wrong item and the correct item arriving, a short email acknowledging the error and advising me that the correct item was being sent would have been helpful.

First things first, I love my bike. It is absolutely beautiful, nice to ride, quality seems good, looks great, etc. However, I haven't been massively impressed by the service. I ordered on May 12th when it said the lead time was 10-14 days so I was expecting my bike before the end of the month (when I was planning to start commuting to work with it). I didn't receive my bike until July 7th, and the communication in the interim was not great - to the point that I was concerned the company had gone under or something (because things like "order status" weren't updated for many weeks). Indeed, the "bike availability" page on the main Mango home page still hasn't been updated since May 30th, with it currently saying bikes will be dispatched early to mid-June... today is July 20th! It makes it look like a dormant business (I was only reassured by the social media channels being updated). It also means I've missed out on many weeks of pleasant spring cycling... I was hoping to get used to it before it got too hot! I totally understand that there are supply issues (even though when I ordered the website said "good stock" for all the parts of my bike) but these should be communicated earlier on to manage expectations. I was given some free lights when I was asked if I would be compensated for the long wait, and all of the customer service was friendly and helpful when I actually got a response (I wouldn't bother using the live chat function, nobody seems to respond. Email seems better). The other thing that has annoyed me a bit is the email that comes when your bike has been dispatched. The subject line is "Building your Mango Bike is easy" and it includes the words "Every Mango is already 90% of the way there." I think this is quite misleading - I was expecting to just have to pop the saddle on or something, but you actually need to attach the handlebars, front wheel, saddle, pedals (which you'll need to go and get greased at a bike shop if you ever hope to get them off again)... to me this is more than 10% of a bike! Buried at the end of the instructions it says you might want to get a bike mechanic to do it. As a rookie cyclist, I definitely didn't feel confident doing it all myself and didn't even understand some of the terms used in the written instructions (things like "stem and brake caliper" and "place the axle into the dropouts" - I'm sure if you know about bikes this stuff is second nature, but not to me!). I was luckily able to get my husband to help but it wasn't a quick and easy job by any means. Again, this is about managing expectations, the "90%" line is definitely a big stretch. This feels really moany so I want to reiterate that I love my bike and I think Mango have many USPs and great branding, but it definitely would have been a LOT easier and quicker to just buy a bike from a shop... it just wouldn't be as pretty.

Cool bike. Poor customer service. I received my bike in good time, but it was missing a couple parts and had a faulty tire. I’ve yet to hear back from customer service after reaching out to two different contacts. Better customer service would have completely changed my experience from just ok to great.

Products are all exactly as expected, however shipping and communication is very poor. The day i ordered my equipment I was told it had been shipped, only to find out later that week that certain components had not been in stock to begin with. Little to no information is sent out by email and was only received upon requesting via live chat on the website

Bought the bike for my Wife, she absolutely loves it. It's certainly special as it was designed by our son's with a little help from me. It certainly stands out and visually it looks fantastic. My only disappointment was the poor quality touch points. The grips felt like really cheap BMX style grips (the colour wasn't the right shade either). Brake leavers were nasty, not smooth and the metal felt sharp and harsh, almost reminded of my bike I had as a kid. Easily resolved, I spent an extra £20 and bought some lock on grips and some genuine Tektro leavers to match the brakes. Now it feels smoother and better quality! Probably the two most important parts of the bike, apart from the saddle (which is great by the way). I can't understand why Mango bikes would scrimp and save on these? I really wanted to give Mango bikes a 5 star review, but I can't help to feel a bit disappointed.

A company I love that feels like it's going through some growing pains. Unfortunately I was delivered another colour wheel than I purchased and it turns out that's because they were out of stock of the wheel I originally bought, so decided instead of letting me know to send a different colour. Getting in contact was tougher than it should have been, though I appreciate the last months have not been regular!

Excellent bike, poor communication and a longgggg wait for the bike with no updates until I emailed. But you are buying a bike and when you get it, you get a great bike.

Hi Joe Our lead times are about 3-4 weeks for all bikes but we made a blooper with yours and missed painting your frame. Combined with the annual shutdown and maintenance of the paint shop it pushed your order way over how long it should have taken. Apologies for this. Appreciate you didn't give us 1 star when we probably deserved it. Glad you like the bike. Happy cycling.

I didn't receive any tools or reflectors with my bike and it came almost two weeks later than expected. I didn't receive an email telling me about the tools not being there, I had to contact them, which I found very disappointing.
