“Some of the turf had some cuttings left rolled in them, so they started to decompose and has killed the grass. Lost about 10 roles. But other than that was all good”

These are signs of heat stress. It is important that turf is laid on the day of delivery at this time of the year to minimise the risk of damage to turf. There is a useful blog post on sod-heating on our website with useful advice, pictures and how best to avoid heat stress.

“Felt sorry for the driver he really had to struggle it took 3 of us to unload the pallets they had been doubled up and where broken and difficult to get pallet truck under but never the less he worked hard at it The turf its self is very patchy and was laid on day of arrival its now showing patched of browning already which is not good I hope it has had plenty of watering”

“The order was due to be delivered on 13/4. It hadn't arrived by late afternoon so I called and was assured it was on its way and I would get a call if there were any problems. It didn't arrive on 13/4 and I wasn't contacted. I had arranged someone to lay it 14/4 but as it hadn't arrived I had to postpone. The following day was a bank holiday and no one was contactable but I did leave a voicemail. Although I wasn't given notice of when it would finally arrive it was delivered early afternoon on the bank holiday and seems to be good quality but the lack of communication was a pain which mucked up my weekend plans”

“The turf itself was of a very good quality and very competitive in price also. However the 8am-2pm delivery was slightly late and also it arrived on an articulated lorry which made things more difficult than needed as I specified there was no turning area for a lorry of that size.”

“Lets see. The turf was cut quite thin so when you started to lay the turf you had to be very careful not to break the roll.this is the second time i have ordered turf but my first order was alot better the turf roll was alot thicker.”

“The turf was delivered on time. I'd ordered a tub of feed which didn't appear to be with the order and the delivery driver knew nothing about it. I subsequently found the tub beneath a layer of turf on the second pallet I used - therefore it was too late to use it. While the turf was of an excellent quality overall and has taken beautifully, it was not all of a uniform type or shade. There are turfs with thicker darker green blades and others with thinner lighter green blades. I'm no expert but they appear to be different types of grass and after 7 days there's still a pronounced "patchwork effect". I'm sure it will all blend in time and after the first cut will be fine but the "patchwork" result prevents me giving a better score than "Average".”

“The turf arrived on the specified day and the driver was helpful and courteous. The turf itself was nice and wet and had clearly recently been cut, most of it was a decent standard. My only complaint is that 3 of the 20 rolls I'd ordered were very badly damaged (in many pieces), this may have happened in transit and luckily I'd over ordered and had enough to finish the job. I would use turfonline again. I would have rated them higher but for the damaged rolls.”

“happy with the turf , but delivery was late and poorly presented , the pallet on which the turf was delivered had moved in transit causing the turf to subside , that being said the driver was very helpful but i would have to say his trolley jack was not up to the job and we had to remove a number of turfs by hand .”

“For the price it's reasonable grade turf. Needed in a hurry and came next day am so suited that job. Wouldn't use that grade turf in own garden”

“Turf wasn't that fresh as had been transported all over the place before getting to me so anyone ordering plan to lay it as soon as its delivered. The centre rolls were black so we're unusable”

“Ordered 35 but only 30 arrived. Advice given was to drive to b & q to get the missing turf to complete my project. They refunded the missing turf a few days after. Not entirely sure how the mistake could be made as the 0 and 5 are miles apart. The turf itself is really good and I'm very happy with it.”

Thank you for your feedback on the condition of the turf on arrival. We would just like to re-assure you that even though the turf can be dry when delivered it won't affect the quality. The turf is grown in open fields and the condition when supplied depends on the weather when harvested. Once laid and watered it very quickly responds and goes green and lush.

“They could improve their customer communication. Had to wait until 4pm for the turfs to arrive and had to ring them to find out where it was. If they could sort their distribution I would have rated them higher as the product itself was excellent when it finally arrived.”

Hi Keith, Thank you for your review. We're so pleased that you found the product to be excellent, I can see that on your order you opted for the "anytime nominated day" delivery option. We do offer pre 2pm and pre 11am for an additional charge. Due to this the AM drops are prioritised by the pallet courier and this means that "anytime - nominated day" are usually on a second run and can be quite late. Unfortunately our hands are somewhat tied as we are currently unable to track orders and provide accurate ETA's on the pallet couriers that we use. Thanking you for the feedback.
