VERY DISAPPOINTED, AVOID. We bought the Meadowmat Birds and Bees Turf and low-fertility soil as recommended, for £498.82. This project was part of our daughter's Duke of Edinburgh Award (skills section), which we laid last Sept. 2022 outside her bedroom window. The vast majority is red campion, red clover, yarrow, a daisy and grasses. The description states 41 species..... we've had around 5 or 6 and it looks nothing like the photos suggest it will (see our photos after 10 months). We've contacted Customer Care asking if they can rectify the situation and they've offered us a packet of seeds to the value of £13.49. If we could have created this for £13.49 we surely would have. I've been in touch to pursue this and emails are now being ignored. Quite frankly disrespectful. We won't be using or recommending this company.

I ordered from here as my daughter was very happy with her order. I ordered the Jubilee lawn which is meant to be premium. Unfortunately I had a very different experience, the turf received was yellow and dry, completely opposite to what my daughter received. When I contacted customer service, they were extremely unhelpful and were very quick to pass on the blame and say “this is how it is meant to be delivered” when in fact it was not. It was most likely dried due to the UK heatwave and they tried to just get rid off it. Extremely disappointed with how unprofessional this company is. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

I would not recommend buying turf via Turf Online. Order was never delivered. No communication from courier. Order cancelled and full refund received.

Dead grass and clumps of clover and uneven thickness of turf After looking forward to my delivery of meadow turf, I am so incredibly disappointed and have shown the results to my neighbours, who were going to order, they have all ordered from other companies or just plain turf A month on from laying, the dead grass is still dead and the clumps of clover are numerous.

Joke of a company, been on waiting list for Titan Turf for many weeks, update in March was that it would be back in stock end of the month, then a couple of weeks ago was told mid May, then yesterday I received an email from them saying 'Titan Turf is now back in stock at Turf Online, Hi There,Thank you for registering your interest in Titan Turf. Titan Turf is now back in stock and available for purchase. Shop now'. I went on the website and no sign of Titan Turf so messaged Jade on online chat only to be told that Titan Turf is discontinued and may or may not be available again in the future. Either they are selling it or they aren't. I was told no emails had gone out stating it was back on sale but they clearly had because I had one. When I told her she said she'd flag it to the IT department. Absolutely no decent apology or explanation for what sounds like a complete c@ck up. Been waiting for weeks for this, ground all prepped and could have ordered something else or grown from seed by now. Back to square one. Will never buy anything from the company again.

I have sent two messages through your notification system notifying Turfonline that the package ordered and paid for under order number 200067939 on 2nd April has not arrived I have not had a response to either I've also contacted DPD who have refused to contact Turfonline and saidI am obliged to notify you as they received an empty package which I have done as above They have sent me an email to say my complaint is investigated The complete lack of response on this is very poor Please send me a refund by return

Don’t not buy your turf here, they will send you the wrong turf, I received 4 rolls of garden (awful quality) and 36 rolls of jubilee. Despite the rolls being blatantly different the office were unhelpful and implied it was in fact somehow my gardeners fault. Disgusting and rude customer service, AVOID AT ALL COSTS (Oh and the lorry driver dumped all the turf essentially blocking the whole road)

Completely disappointed with the quality of the lawn and the way support handled my queries. I received turf on Friday and it was planted on the same day evening. I visited the garden over the weekend and observed a black/dried patch around. I waited a couple of days before I reported this back to customer support. In the Email, I mentioned, "over the weekend" which they considered as it was planted immediately so it caused damage to the lawn patches. I tried to explain it, but it seems customer support is not in the mood of supporting but rather defending that it needs to be planted immediately. If the lawn support any time delays in planting, what kind of quality it is? I strongly suggest, Please think twice before ordering.

Very displeased with service after using this company for several years received incomplete order missing few rolls of turf. I try to soleve issue with company but they decided that order was complet and send me photo of palette with turf  from lorry in warehouse, unfortunately my pallets wear delivered on different lorry, missing itam was never delivered or refunded, my garden project has unfinished strip of turf. As garden landscaper I would never left my client unsatisfied. Very disappointed, want be using this company again.

I have ordered 107-meter square turf, but unfortunately, there is about 20 meters square that is not good after a few days laid on. Even we saw partial of those turfs are broken. What we thought is after a few days of watering, they may recover, that is why we wait a few days. When I contact the customer service after a few days to exchange. But custom service rejects to exchange those broken ones. I understand some parts of that product will be some problem as no one could make sure before it is laid. What I do not understand is why we could not get the replacement of them. We have already tried our best to make it work, but still, some of them do not survive, and that should not our fault. why we should pay for it. If you order the turf, please do take the photo and send it back to customer service if you have parts of the turf that are not good, even just a little bit. As they will not accept if you want to try and see if they actually can live or not.

Very carefull when you buy from them , especially bulk quantities they will mix old stocks, 20 to 30 % will be old dead turf. I don't recommend them.

Shadesman seed planted 7 weeks ago. About 5% has sprouted. Followed instructions. Not good. Previously bought Shadesman turf and 30% did not survive winter, especially in shaded areas of garden!

The turf is fine but the delivery was truly shocking. We paid extra for delivery before 11 as we had someone coming in the morning to lay the turf. The turf arrived eventually at 5.15, by which time our help had long gone, so my husband and I (both retired) were out until 8.30 pm laying it! We had to call customer services on numerous occasions and didn't feel we were getting an honest answer. We only got one call back when it was nearing 5pm and we were threatening to refuse delivery. Please be aware that this is a pallet delivery and the driver could not get the load up a very small slope onto our drive, I don't think this was made clear enough.

This company does not ship to all of the UK but currently the firm lets your order and pay without telling you that. Poor experience and I hope they make it clear soon that they do not do business in all of the UK. Broke my back preparing the lawn in time and ended up getting cancelled and having to wait days for the refund. 0/10 will not do business again. Sort it out.

Somewhat disappointed with my sedum mat, there are several totally bald patches, a clump of grass embedded in the mat and an excessive amount of small red/orange pebbles scattered across the sedum. The pebbles cannot be brushed off because that breaks and damages the sedum, so I am trying to pick them all off by hand which is almost impossible. Also the sedum had been cut in half making it only 50cm wide despite you stating that it comes as a square metre. This could turn out to be a very expensive mistake!

Hi Philippa, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your Sedum. The mats are cut to 50cm wide x 200cm long which equals 1 square metre. The red/orange stones that you mention are crushed brick. This is part of the free-draining substrate that the sedum plants are grown in and is an important part of the mats. We aim to despatch our mats with at least 95% coverage. If you would like to send some photos I would be more than happy to look at the bare patches and advise further.

Ordered both cottage garden and regular turf, booked delivery date specifically when we were free to lay the turf. It was not delivered, got phone call saying it was delayed. Cottage garden turf arrived next day but no sign of regular turf, no communication so far and not impressed with the service! Wanted the complete order to enable project to be completed at weekend as work full time! This has not happened! Would not use this company again!

Although their product is good (I bought Sedum matting), their customer service is rubbish. I under-ordered and found myself around 7 square metres short. I wanted to order this at the same rate as my first order as I considered this an extension of that order. Despite several emails, they refused and treated this as a new order, costing me £60 more than necessary. I would not order from them again. 5 stars product, 1 star service.

Awful awful service and poor quality product. Ordered one pallet of 50 rolls of premium. Delivery was good but when I opened up the pallet, the top 10 rolls were torn and fell apart in my hands when picked up. As I got down to the second layer the turf was good from then on, however I clearly didn’t have enough to finish the lawn. I laid what I could as everything was prepped but had to go to the garden centre for extra rolls to finish the job, costing time and money. Contacted turfonline to explain the problem and show pictures for evidence. Waited a week and was just told ‘often it is possible to near fully utilise these rolls for the cutting in.’ Hardly the case when 20% of the rolls aren’t up to scratch. Sent a follow up email, and another follow up email 2 weeks later. It has now been 6 weeks and I haven’t heard from them and they’ve made no attempt to resolve the issue. Have actively not recommended them since, was extremely disappointed.

Every piece had sharp pieces of flint embedded in it which had torn holes as it had been lifted by the turf cutting machine. Many of the pieces of flint came out as the turf was unrolled but where they were sticking through the turf, we have done our best to remove them but are still worried others remain and will be sharp should we or our children go bare foot on the lawn. We have collected half a large bucket of large stones out of the turf.
