“When I booked the call out, I clearly stated the washing machine model and that the bearings had gone. The service engineer arrived and confirmed the bearings had gone. He also said that it was too expensive to repair. The 15 minute visit cost me £90. Perhaps they could have told me it was too expensive to repair when I booked.”

“On first contacting Glotech the call handler tried to persuade me to buy a new cooker rather than repair mine! Not a good start. Booked an engineer visit. Chap who came out was pleasant enough but didn't even I still much confidence. Said I needed a part which he ordered. Then two days later got a phone call from the office telling me I had to pay the £120 parts cost up front before they would order it. Apparently this is Company policy if they don't have the part in stock. It prevents me from cancelling the repair after I agree to go ahead. After negotiating with her we agreed I would pay half of the parts cost. Then 48 hours later I got another call saying the part I needed was no longer available so they couldn't repair my oven now (cue more sales pitch to get me to buy a new one from them) . Now I had to wait 5 days to get my £69 back again. NOT IMPRESSED AND CERTAINLY WON'T BE USING GLOTECH AGAIN.”

“The engineer was on time and polite. He had a record of my oven's model and serial number from a visit a few years earlier so came prepared with new parts. He replaced the part without having to order it which saved me time. I was happy with the work and cost.”
