“First off the engineer visited promptly, however thats where the good level of service ended. The engineer "diagnosis" was that there was no power getting through the main PCB to the induction hob, this took about 5mins. Engineer left and said he'd need head office to get a quote for the replacement PCB and that I'd hear from head office shortly to confirm etc. Next correspondence from Glotech was to quote for a new oven as the cost of repair was too high. The repair quoted was to replace the complete induction hob rather than the main PCB as diagnosed by the engineer. The quote was for £1600 for the part as Glotech claim they are unable to source the PCB. Having contacted rangemaster directly myself and been quoted for the part (the main PCB) at less than a third of the cost that Glotech quote for the repair and provided Glotech with the Rangemaster part number they have claimed that the part number is incorrect (its direct for rangemaster) and judged the oven beyond economic repair. I should add that emails are ignored and the only way to get an update is to call. Very poor experience and would definitely avoid using Glotech for anything in the future. Final straw was to be sent a survey asking me if i was satisfied with the repair!!! Bunch of cowboys and only really interested in collecting call out charge and basic repairs like replacing a seal. Definitely avoid”

An error was made on the incorrect labour charge for which you received a full refund. Therefore we are not sure why your review states we are only interested in getting the call out when we refunded it to you. If any customer wishes to go direct to the manufacturer that is the customers choice however we are an independent family run business with our own part prices. - you have contacted the suppliers directly to resolve your repair and we have provided a full refund to you. We do hope that you have been able to resolve you appliance requirements. Thank you

“We haven’t used Glotech before and are pleased we did. The out-of-hours on-line appointment and payment process worked fine, with a small change to the booked appointment date once the office opened. Engineer called ahead. Repair carried out rapidly once the fault was confirmed on site, the part required was carried by the technician, and the charge for it was reasonable . Tidy job. Very pleased. The labour charge worked out expensively for the time taken to do the repair, on the other hand, it’s a one-off fee and if the job had been a complicated one, it would have been covered by the fee - swings and roundabouts. Not a problem. I’d definitely use Glotech again.”

You are correct that some repairs do turn out to be slightly quicker than others however until the engineer attends the property he cannot fully evaluate therefore the time is allocated in his diary if he needs it. “A repair was very easy to book online and was followed up by a phone call. The serviceman arrived earlier than scheduled but phoned first so it wasn't a problem. He was efficient and friendly. Unfortunately our freezer wasn't repairable but he told us the fridge wasn't working properly either so we knew we had to get a new one.”

Good Afternoon. as you say the appliance was diagnosed and beyond repair, you were given quotes, paid for the appliance and have been booked for delivery today. there would be no reason to contact you again pending todays delivery which was confirmed to you?. it is Monday 9th January today therefore I do not understand your reasoning for a 1* review for the service? Good afternoon again, I can confirm I have listened to the phone call arranging the booking with you and certainly there seemed to be no problem at all with the booking and that the delivery team would call you when they are closer to knowing a time for the delivery to take place, you would get a text update however as you have no mobile number and when speaking to the sales operative you confirmed this therefore you will be contacted by your main phone - thank you phone. thank you , wishing you well .

“Booked a pm slot for repair as I wasn't availble in the morning.Without checking whether it was convenient for me, Glotech changed it to a morning slot which I couldn’t make. This was disappointing and not a good impression of their Customer service.”
