Hi, Looking into your situation we can see you disclosed 2 years NCB on your policy this was issued in on two different registrations as two lots of 1 year which we cannot accept, your previous insurer must be able to send us confirmation of your two years. This is so we can ensure that these years are legitimate and nothing has happened during that time that would invalidate them years. Regards, Dylan

Hi Billy, We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. We can see from when you took your policy out you ended up getting a fantastic score with us of 95/100. How our telematics box works is you need to be able to maintain these scores as if you increase or decrease your score by 10 pts or more then the premium is adjusted accordingly so it is completely down to you with how much you pay. Looking from the point you got 95, you decreased to 82 which resulted in an increase following the refund you got for getting to 95 in the first place, then decreased again to 72. If you are looking to get money off your DBS you need to increase this score and maintain it one it is there. Regards, Dylan

Never has a black-box insured company charged more for the insurance premium just a few months into the policy... especially when just previous to that I received an email stating that “based on your current driving behaviour your premium will not be affected” Very poor and little/no communication regarding this or at all a warning on if an extra £329 charge may come into play... not at all happy

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We monitor the driving behaviour score every 30 days and this may affect your premium depending on the overall score. As confirmed in our terms and conditions, we may adjust your premium during the policy term to reflect how you are driving. This may result in either a refund or an additional charge. We will keep you informed of how you are driving by displaying your driving score on your customer dashboard. This will be updated daily and you will receive alerts if your premium is due to change. The Terms and Conditions can also be found on our website, www.wisedriving.com. Many Thanks, Kathryn.

This company is awful if you are being offered a black box! I have been with this company less than a year. Over 4 months ago i had to get the battery changed on my car, in doing so my black box score rapidly reduced to zero. After noticing it a few months later i tried again and again to contact them and to get it amended. No reply. After ringing, the operator on the other end of the phone did not listen and said it was my driving, even though the evidence shows it was the battery change. This is only one issue but it demonstrates the company's lack in costumer service and understanding, and highlights their inability to help.

Hi Dionis, I have listened to the call in question with you and our agent and we can confirm that our agent acted in a professional and polite manner. When you take out a policy for someone else, anyone can do this for anyone, but the second the policy is active, we cannot discuss any information with anyone other than the policyholder and/or authorised personnel. As you were not authorised at the time, we couldnt discuss anything with you. We can now see that you are authorised and can talk on behalf of your partner. Regards, Dylan

I paid £150 telematics fee, my first appointment to have the black box fitted was cancelled as I was not feeling well. I had a busy couple of weeks and did not manage to rearrange the appointment, so Wise Driving then messaged me to say the policy would be cancelled and this would cost me an extra £75 as well as the £150 telematics fee. Oh, and the cost of the insurance so far. I was told I could ring and I MIGHT be able to get an extension for fitting the black box. After a good 45 minutes trying to get through and explain what was going on, a very rude young man kept me waiting for a long time while he 'spoke to his manager'. He then told me that it wasn't that easy to just get an extension and I needed to call back on Friday and check whether I could get an extension. As my patience had run out I said I would just cancel, even though I was going to be paying over £225 for 2 weeks insurance, but even this was not made easy for me, I was told I should wait and see if I could get an extension as the policy wouldn't be cancelled for another week. So they can tell me that I am not allowed an extension and charge me even more for that week, I presume. They have extorted money from me. I'd rather cut my losses now and pay for a new insurance than take my chances staying with this company, especially after reading some of the other reviews. This company creates policies that allow them to over-charge and the customer service really says it all. Absolutely shocking.

Absolutely terrible in every aspect, STAY AWAY. I’ve been consistently lied to by their terrible customer service who have no idea about what’s going on and no communication amongst themselves. I was robbed of a year NCB and told difference stories by everyone I’ve spoken to.

Hi Bashirat, The cooling off period is for any additional fees/cancellation fees on the policy. You would still be charged for the days that you have used on cover as this is not free. Regards, Dylan

Hi Rabin, If you are driving and the box is detecting that you are driving dangerously it increases the risk of the insurance policy hence the increased cost. The same would be the case if you were driving well it would decrease. Regarding the distance you have driven, it is an average of what you have done, if you have driven a poor 5 miles only and someone has driven a poor 10 miles and good 1000 miles. The second person is going to have a better score. If you require help understanding your score please call our customer service team for hints and tips. Regards, Dylan

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. The main way we communicate is via email, any changes in premium would be emailed to the email address we hold on file 7 days before the premium is applied. Many Thanks, Kathryn.

Found the whole idea of being a better driver very misleading, they claim to have tools were you would he advised to be a better driver but when you try and access said advice its not possible 🤔 and then being charged extra premiums as a result with no explanation as to why except that my score was below a certain point!!

Would not recommend wise driving to anyone. I started of paying £130 per month for my car, and 9 months in I now pay £218. I cannot move insurers as I won’t complete my years no claims so am stuck overpaying. This is due to low score acceleration bringing my overall down. I always go through all gears to accelerate to the speed limit. I hardly go above 2500 revs when accelerating as my score is always awful. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a good score on this insurance policy. Breaking, speed and time and place is always scored accurately and scored well as a reflection of my driving. But acceleration is usually between 0 and 10 out of 100. I have called up and asked if this is possible to change and they said no, they also say revs can affect your score, and told me I was sat at too high rpms when going high speeds. I sit at about 3K revs in 5th gear as I have a 5 speed whilst going 65-70mph and have been advised to slow down to decrease my revs whilst going on motorways to increase my score. I don’t understand why I am being punished for going under the speed limit, I cannot help the revs and I don’t wish to do under what I am legally aloud to do. Do not recommend.

Hi Jacob, Thank you for your feedback. With regards to the score acceleration and braking are monitored in the same way. If there were issues with the telematics device we would be notified as the device has self-diagnostics included which detect if there are issues with the telematics device. The acceleration and braking is monitored on G-force of the pedals. Continue to monitor the score on your online dashboard. Here is a link to our hints and tips on our website to improve your driving score. https://help.wisedriving.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000166531-How-to-improve-your-WiseDriving-Driving-Behaviour-Score If you wish to discuss the matter further, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department on 01733 308357. Yes one star and if is possible non stars . Because after one month my insurance go from 110 to 250 pounds I strongly not recommend I will never go back with the I lost 300 pounds deposit after one month as well and for any change if you want to make 45 pounds charge over the phone . Unbelievable but true . Once again not recommended.

Hi Gheorghe, Thank you for your feedback. All of our fees are stipulated within our Terms and Conditions, which we ask customers to read and agree to when setting up a policy. A link to these Terms and Conditions is also included in all of our welcome packs we issue to customers. As stated in our Terms and Conditions, "We may adjust your premium on a monthly basis during the policy term to reflect how you are driving. This may result in either a reduction or an additional charge. We will keep you informed of how you're driving by displaying your driving score on your customer dashboard. This will be updated daily and you will receive alerts if your premium is due to change. The driving score relates to your car and not to you specifically if other people have been driving your car. We also advise that any changes made to the policy during the policy year may have an affect on the premium the insurers provide. If you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department on 01733 308358. Many Thanks, Kathryn.
